  1. I think that he is an idiot who's oblivious to the fact that he's an idiot. How else can one explain his running of his mouth against better Presidents?
  2. I wasn't aware that we had Title Police on this forum. If you don't like what someone posts you are certainly free to block them.
  3. When I was a LEO this was fairly common conduct from people - like a couple times per year common. Even had one guy act like a total ass in front of his young daughter over expired plates.
  4. We already have them. They're called Illegal Aliens and poor people.
  5. That's about the same for me. I got shingles rated to 75 MPH.
  6. Illinois: the armpit of the United States.
  7. I agree that it's interesting and would be fun to shoot a few rounds but I would like to see other calibers too.
  8. I'm proud to say that my children and older grandchildren are all conservatives. My middle kid was all about Obama when he first ran. We asked her what policies of his that she supported, and she couldn't name one. All she could say was that he spoke to her. When I pointed out that being a smooth talker was all he had then she saw the light. It was affirmed when we told her of some of the policies of the Democrats. She is now a solid conservative.
  9. You lasted longer than I did.
  10. Here's a simple recipe to try. Everyone I know loves it. 1. Take a brisket and cold smoke it for 5-6 hours. 2, Generously onion powder, garlic powder, meat tenderizer, and McCormick's Mesquite spice. 3, Wrap it in several layers of heavy foil and slow bake it at 250 degrees until done, (5 hours or so depending on its thickness). 4. Let it rest until coming down to around 100 degrees, then unwrap it over the sink. The brisket will be infused with smoke and spice yet so tender you can scrape the excess fat off easily. Like scrape with a butter knife easy. We like to eat it in stuffed baked potatoes.
  11. I would agree.
  12. IIRC, it was a Winchester 22 that loaded through a tube magazine in the butt of the rifle.
  13. Being blind I'd love to see someone come up behind him and say, "Hey, hey, hey! Here comes Fat Albert!
  14. I'd ask the sheriff. In Missouri it was 50 feet, but I have never heard of that restriction here.
  15. There's doctors at the VA doing part time work and making bank. Not really hourly, however.
  16. The ones I let go with a warning were the ones who said something like, "Yes, officer...I screwed up." The ones that I wrote were the ones who said something like, "Your RADAR is wrong!" or "I'm late for work!" or "You're just picking on me!"
  17. No union in Missouri where I was a cop. It isn't allowed by law. On a small department in 1993 I made $24,000 per year. No, I didn't F'n steal to supplement my income, nor did I violate anyone's rights in the performance of my duties. The F'n mayor was the corrupt one in the city.
  18. I'm not talking about being an azz; I'm talking about an attitude. And to point out something about the second part of your statement, what do you think if someone followed you around filming you but showed only bad things that you do. Would you appreciate being treated like an azz then?
  19. There's a reason for that vibe. Police spend most of their time dealing with people in negative circumstances. After awhile you look at everyone negatively and form that "Us versus Them" mentality. Here's another thing: I worked in an area of metropolitan Kansas City, MO where most of the people that I encountered were white. It is for that reason that I arrested far more white people than black people. But every time I had to stop/arrest a black person I was accused of stopping/arresting them because they were black.
  20. I couldn't agree more. Only thing I could add would be if the door was forced or just open. The answer to that might dictate a change. In my department you didn't perform a residence search alone. Businesses, on the other hand, we did alone if no sign of forced entry because it's amazing how often businesses fail to lock up at night.
  21. It would take either a poorly trained, or extremely dumb, police officer to stand silhouetted by the hallway light in the doorway. That makes you a target. It's also dumb to not have a back-up in a situation like this particularly when you know someone's there. Now being off duty she may not have a radio, but it's a good bet she had a cell phone.
  22. By that time I wouldn't be leaving my house.
  23. It would really depend on how many 16 hour shifts you worked. When I was a "part-time" police officer I went through a 10 month period where I was working 48 to 56 hours per week at the PD on top of the 40 hours at my "regular" job. I have no doubt that had an effect on my decision making.
  24. Yes, I have. In this case, (according to the arrest affidavit), she was on the wrong floor. That I can understand, but every apartment complex that I've ever seen has the apartment number plastered on the door. If I saw the door was ajar the first thing I'd do is check the apartment number. On the other hand I might not after working a 16 hour shift.
