for a backup gun that will work every time you need to find a j-frame. a new or used one. if you can not find a j-frame then the other brands small wheel guns will work. small pocket 9's are hit and miss. most work after 200 plus rounds break in. but you just don't know what is going to happen at round 201. but i do know a j-frame works right out of the box.

over the years i have lost many nice carry guns to my wife. we have been together for many mango seasons. i find a good off duty carry gun, carry it for sometime. then i offer to let wife shoot it at the range. the wife likes it, now gun is hers. i go back to the hunt for a new carry gun. repeat. repeat. repeat. repeat. so i feel for you.

i have a 2004 f250 with the 6.0 so i know the 6.0 well. if you are looking at a 6.0 you need to get a scan gauge to check the deltas between the oil temp and the water temp. you want the temp different between the two under 15 degree when driving 55 on a level road for some time. the lower the number the better. closer to 15 and/or over 15 the motor will need work,, i.e. coolant change, oil cooler, egr cooler, coolant filter, and possible other stuff. also before i did anything i would check the coolant to see what color it is. if it is the ford gold at those miles i would pass. the ford gold coolant is what made the problem on the 6.0. i don't know if this goes for the 6.4.

i shot long range high power rifle silhouette for many years back in the 80's when i lived in west texas. i started with a remington 700 in 30-06. by the second month i went over to the bull barrel remingtion 700 in 308. no body was using a 30-06, it was all 308. i kept the 30-06 as my backup rifle just in case i had a problem with the 308 during the match. but i never did. i put a weaver t-40 scope on the rifle and a timney trigger. the scope was made in the garage of bill ackerman. bill was the plant manager of weaver scopes and had something to do with the t-scopes. he made a t-35 for the 30-06 and a t-25 for my small bore silhouette rifle. come to think of it everybody that shot any rifle silhouette in those day had a t-scope made by bill or a t-scope improved by him. for some reason the 308 worked better during the matches. both cals had the same knockdown power. the 30-06 used a little more powder for the same load power. the 30-06 kicked more. after a 40 round match and 15 rounds warm up on match day than means something. some of the shooters would take a savage bull barrel in 308 and gut the barrel down to 20 and/or 18 inches. my shooting partner did that in my garage. man that gun was a shooter. my other shooting partner shot a redone brit 303. he was to cheap to buy anything else. chris everheart shot with a 7mm-308 and i think even today she still does. so you can not go wrong with a bull barrel 308 for long range matches and/or hunting.

if they come up to the house and ask to go fishing i tell them to have a good time and use the gate to get in/out, that is if they don't look like trouble/dirt bags. you can tell by the way they act, look, and what they drive. profiling does work. but 8 out of 10 times they don't ask. the best lines i get from them when i find them looking around are, "i was going to fish", but you don't see any fishing stuff on them or in their vehicle. most of them look like a dirt bag and their vehicle are worst looking. most are trying to get a better look at my equipment barn that is 1/2 mile away. they are just trying to steal something to support their drug/booze problem. i use to let people hunt, but not now. a shot cow stopped that. people will asked to hunt and i tell them that i have a work day on next saturday and they are welcome to hunt if they help me around the farm for a day. no takers yet. everybody want something for nothing these days. years ago i never carried a gun when i was working on the farm. but now i keep a pistol in the pocket and a rifle on the tractors and atv's because of the low lives pillbillies that are around trying to steal something.

chattanooga area is the best. two hours from the big cities of atlanta, nashville, and knoxville. chattanooga has all that the other cities have, without the traffic.

shoulder holster i.e. galco miami classic (jack ass rig) and/or a pocket gun in the jacket pocket.

did the guy look like a dirt bag or was he clean cut? i have this same problem on the back side of the farm. the back side of my farm has a small river on it along with a county road and a bridge. between fishing, dumping trash, and tearing down the fence i can not keep up. i don't care if they fish as long as they pickup their trash and use the gate. but most are dumb that leave trash all over and climb over the fence. then i got the people that dump house whole trash, dead dogs, etc.. at the bridge when they can drive five more miles to a free county trash station. so last summer i started running them all off when i can. it is hard to keep your place up when dirt bags don't care. in to days world it is best to err on the side of caution.

the last time i was in one of their shop was last fall at north myrtle beach. i don't normally go into their stores because of the high prices. nothing has changed, they still got high prices. everything they sale i get get at other places at a lower price. but it is a place to "kick the tires" and buy elsewhere.

hello and welcome to the site.

the problem with gougers is that most people let them get away with it by buying what they have for sale. if they can not sale it then the price will come down. the gougers are all dirt bags in my book. in the same boat as the wal mart ammo guys.

more work than it is worth when you got to cut it up on site. they do not want it to go out in the full blankets sizes.

I made two just like that in 1981. The only thing I added was some carpet on top. They are still going strong after all these years.
