  1. i got one for a glock 23 and it is okay.  i got a crossbreed and it is okay.  i got two different galco models too and they are better.
  2. armslist is the best place to look.
  3. i reload and make my own cast bullets.  have been for many mango seasons.  i shoot my reloads in all my glocks.  i do use after market barrels.  i have many different brands of barrels, i.e. kkm, efk fire dragon, lone wolf, and bar sto in 9 mm, 40 s&w, and 45 acp. i do know that the first glock 40 s&w barrels did not give good case support.  the newer one do.  as for factory cast lead bullets i have shot some through the factory barrel. these loads were down loaded some.   factory cast lead is harder than wheel weight cast bullets and when down loaded some should not lead the factory barrel.  i have never seen a problem with someone shooting cast lead in a factory barrel, i have hear about the problems, but not seen any.
  4. Glock 36 works for me. Also the glock 30 works for me. Not much different in size.
  5. with $1,000.00 to work with you can get two.  look for used ones.  i would get a 30-30 and/or 35 rem for hunting.  then look for a 44 mag.  a 357 mag are priced to high at this time.  but you can find a 44 mag for around $450.00 to $550.00.  I pick up a 1975  marlin 1894 in 44 mag last month for $425.00.  i have seen 30-30 for around $375.00 and up.  so look around for a used marlin 336 in 30-30 or 35 rem.  take your time you will find a good used one.
  6. just got back from shooting.  now it is time to clean several guns.
  7. american rifeman tsra - texas state rifle association hog - harley owner group
  8. i am in.  i will let you know when i win.
  9. i use to eat there once/twice a week at many different ones in several states.  then the food went down hill.  service went down hill also.  not at just one but all of them across the five state area that i travel. i put them on the same level as a waffle house.  the food now is good for bathroom stop within 30 minutes of eating.  now i look for a ihop, they seem to just a little better and i don't have to fight through all the junk in front of the store to get to the table. but i did e-mailed them telling them how i felt about what they did.
  10. had comcast for several years.  each year it got worst.  it got so bad if it rained and the wind got up we lost service to the tv and internet.  comcast standard answere was to send someone to my house.  they would come out look at the house and then state the problems was somewhere else.  then drive off and the cable and net would come back on.  well this game went on for several times and i got tired of the game with them.  so i dropped them like a hot rock for epb.  had epb for three years with no problems.  i know you can not get epb in your area, but i would look for something other than comcast.
  11. they make a chamber insert that work well.  they don't cost much.  i was looking at getting one until the ammo prices and reloading supplies went south.
  12. chuck is the man.
  13. sold out, been sold out for sometime.
  14. i been a ford guy since 1973 when i got me a new mustang.  trade in a 69 mustang for a new 73.  now it is a f250 and they are hard to beat.
  15. it might work out with the new owners.  but i would have a backup plan that i could do fast.  i would start now looking for a new place just in case that you can not work out a deal with the new owner.  that way you don't get boxed in.  moving is not fun, but moving is a way to clean out the junk that you don't throw away.
  16.   It had come to the time that we are losing what made the country great.  our values have been changed by small groups of people that want to make us like them and control what we do and say.
  17. when the movies came out i went to see them.  they were the talk on base during the day.  been years, many years since i seen them.
  18. sounds like you were/are oiling the firing pen channel and/or getting oil inside when you clean with the compress air,  all parts inside the slide does not need any oil.  just clean and wipe them dry.  same with  the trigger group.  i have once put a very small drop of grease on the trigger bar at the connector.  but it did noting for the gun.  it just collect heavy junk when shooting.  the glock has certain points that get a light oiling, all other oiling is a wast and collects junk.
  19. we would not have these problems if we had the chain gang back.  when you let these dirt bags out on bond they keep on acting like dirt bags.  it has turn into a "catch and release" program.  no body goes to jail for a long time anymore.
  20. glock missed the boat when it came to a small single stack 9mm.  they should have been the first maker out with one.  i might be wrong but i don't see them coming out with one now.
  21. we had them on the farm when i was a kid.  love them.
  22. welcome to the group
  23. we got to be "pc" these days.  if we are not then we are the "r" word.   we don't do what is right anymore.  i glad this is over.  we got other pressing things to worry about.
  24. back in the mid late 70's i got my ffl and did it out of my house.  during that time it was not hard to do.  not many rules to follow.  had to have a business, post store hours, pay state and local taxes, mark all person guns "not for sale", and keep normal atf paperwork.  not much more i had to do.  now fast forward to the mid 90's.  things started to change.  renewal price went up to $300.00 dollars, had to have a business that was zone for a business and/or gun store business.  had to get some papers signed by the a head of my local law enforcement that i was okay to have a gun store and met all the requirements. my house was not zone as a business zone and/or a gun store business.   problem solved, i turned in my ffl.  that all they want to do is to stop the home gun sales.  trying to make it hard to get a ffl and to keep the one you got.  it is another way of gun control.
