  1. I apologize to you for our fellow man allowing this creep to continue breathing. that he may walk our streets again is sickening.
  2. Nice little wrist breaker!
  3. Thanks Much. I don't have any Winchester 9mm and all of my .45 was bought before the recall date.
  4. Dang it! y'all catch me with these when my gun budget is empty! this would fit right next to my stainless 945 with rail.
  5. God bless Molly and the rest of your family. Pray she recovers fully.
  6. I'm not a "black" rifle genius. I own one AR15. That said, I'm not fond of the stock either but the rest is clean looking, not overdone. My idea of a pretty semi auto is a Browning. Saw a nice one in 30 06 Saturday. your rifle isn't ugly, this is...and I'd still take one.
  7. I burned two stockpiles on my last range trip. Didn't pick up any brass as I don't have dies for 357 or 300...yet. Wish I had as I could have gifted the .300 BO to another member.
  8. somehow I missed this one. is that a preppers lot or an A.t.f'ers lot?
  9. always heard that was good for taking a lot of game...U NIQUE up on it. sorry, love kids puns
  10. I had let all my revolvers go when I saw the one I have now on GB and just took a blind faith chance. It was a good purchase. I've had from a 2in .38 special to a 6in vent rib .357 mag and they are terrific handguns. As stated the 357 can shoot anything from light .38s to hot .357s. My new to me ported 4in stainless Taurus has an 8 round cylinder and is a joy to shoot with 158 grain full magnum loads. better then the 6in I had years back. I don't have dies yet, my reloads were done by an old friend but am sure to add this to my limited loading bench.
  11. Hodgdon has great data website as do some other component makers. hodgdonreloading.com My favorite load is 125 grain HTP over 22 grains of H110 for 4-8 inch barrel. 23 grains will give you powder burns in anything less than 8 inch bbl and I don't recommend regularly using that hot of a load, even in a Redhawk.
  12. THANKS SO MUCH! I didn't know Altamont was selling to the public. They have grips for Taurus,,,IN STOCK! I just ordered a pair of black micarta for my 945 that were on clearance for $20 with free shipping. reasonable prices on all of their grips and it's Altamont so win win. I'll be emailing them for a custom set for my 608.
  13. that is a possibility. I'll keep my eyes open and find the S&W she liked. She isn't enthused about firearms in general so whatever it takes is worth it. I would actually prefer the Ruger for myself or the 9 round Taurus.
  14. does the 63 have the same grip frame as the 22/32 kit gun? She has very small hands and likes the small grip panels. the one we saw I don't think was a kit gun. if I recall it had fixed sights.
  15. Talked the wife into going with me. She has a huge black eye where her and the puppy met over a sock. Endured the looks and didn't care. Told my wife anybody who thinks I could hit her that hard would leave me alone. Missed the opportunity to say "my dog did it". The downside is I now have to save for her a "new" revolver. Yeah, I have to find her a DA .22 with the old small butt like a S&W. I didn't touch the one she saw since it is blue and I don't want to be the one to mess up that purty finish. I on;y know two revolvers from S&W, 66 and 29 so this should be fun.
  16. Glad you found it before it got too big to go back out whichever hole it came in. Just remember, he's still alive so he is eating, when food runs out he'll go away. I caught one years back when I lived outside town. he was not happy.
  17. Just got back. plenty of room, parking lot was ALMOST full. some good deals, good supply of ammo. prices were down from last show in Lebanon.
  18. $10 entry. Prices are equal to shops/online sales. Stuff the local shops don't have. They still have them.
  19. Planning to. Had planned to go to Manchester Sunday but got lazy.
  20. From what I read you have the 1911 and could trade for the SA .357? Keep the 1911, feed it heavy loads and go. SA revolvers are great for hunting and very fine handguns. I would not choose an SA revolver for defensive use. The .45 is all you need for small black bears. use solid bullets not hollow points, save the HPs for two legged predators. If it were a DA .357 then it would be whichever you prefer.
  21. I don't envy being "that guy" People expect a lot. But it is nice to be recognized, congrats!
  22. took my two "new to me" pistols to the range Monday. As expected, the huge grip on the alloy framed PT945 was not a tack driver. hard to fathom why the single stack grip frame is larger than my Para P14. The 608 performed excellent and is very easy to hit the zone with on both double and single action. I'm sure accuracy with the 945 will improve as I get used to it, not the first pistol that has given me issues at the beginning for the same reason. Just proves fitment to hand is important. oh yeah, tje 45 kicks like a mule

    S&W 3" 29

that's beautiful indeed. I'm a sucker for unfluted cylinders. Saw a Redhawk 8 round .357 with a 3 inch barrel. tried but missed on it. First S&W 29 I've ever even heard of with non fluted cylinder.
