I had a heat pump and hated it with a passion. Kept breaking down and heat during the winter was costing me $3-400 a month dec-February. Last time they came to repair it, I saw the corrosion on the frame that held the coils together. Told him to get that darn thing out of there. Bought an American Standard air conditioner with a propane gas pack underneath it. We have a large underground LP tank and fill it once a year during the summer when prices are low. I got heat. I am comfortable and I'll never go back to a heat pump. They don't last, the heat output sucks and they are energy hogs. I got a backup vented LP stove I can use when electricity goes down. My grill will never run out in the middle of a cookout. Kitchen range is gas and the only thing left is the hot water tank. I got mixed feelings about replacing that. Bring it on ... LP never spoils and I'll pay the minor cost difference between electricity and LP any time for the convenience and quality. So far with the winters we had, it was cheaper with propane. Anxious to see what this winter brings to the table. PS. It is cheaper to cool a house in the summer with an air conditioner than with a heat pump. I would of never figured that to be true.

Reticle becomes larger and clearer, however it still covers MOA on the target.

Do it. I can consistently put a mag full of XM193 55gr into a circle smaller than the size of my fist at 200 yards. Best commercial load I have shot is the Fiocchi 69gr match ammo and I halve the size of my groups; just above MOA. I'm selling my scope cause the more I shoot with the Eotech, the better I get ... Unlike with the scope. Max range available to me right now is 200 yards. I'm still stunned at what that sight can do. If you were local, I'd let you try mine out ... Windham Weaponry Varminter with a 20 inch barrel. I'm only starting to tap into what this system can deliver.

That is because they used Phillips screwdrivers instead of JIS screwdrivers. JIS screws look like Phillips but have a dot indented next to the cross. Japanese motorcycles and electronics use these screws. Everyone b!+€hes about the swisscheese screw heads stripping out when they are really using the wrong tool for the job. .... yeah, I know, another tool to buy. :( Edit: JIS = Japanese Industrial Standard

Remember those two "boys" who killed that 88 year old WWII Vet this summer?

There will be no healing in this country until some black people are willing to admit that they are racists and do something about it. The current culture prevents it from happening due to poor to nonexistent leadership on their part. -
Mayor of Dawson ga shot at home

I see some three letter agencies getting involved in this one. What goes though the mind of a perp to even think they will get away with this? -
Most of that is in stock. Ammo is still a bit high, but not price gouging high. I'm waiting for the sales ...

I still remember who was straight with me during that time. Went to one of those places in Ringgold yesterday and dropped $400 ... they will be the first and last place I go to even if they may be a bit higher of which I have not seen evidence. Prices are very fair. CTD and that place on 411 can kiss my royal rosy red posterior no matter how much they spend on advertising.

Been divorced over a year and feeling quite lonely. Got down on my knees and started praying, asking for a soul mate. Three to four minutes later, the phone rings and it's this women saying she can't stop thinking about me. Been together almost twenty seven years. Works much better when you let HIM do the choosing for you. It is also evident that God has a great sense of humor.

Ok. If this stands as a valid defense, then being drunk is now a valid defense for killing someone while driving under the influence?

Call it for what it is ... Expose it for what it is ... Expunge it where ever it rears its ugly head! Evil needs light to be destroyed.

Ran over a Yellow Jacket nest while push mowing today
Currently replied to Seabeejason's topic in General Chat
I got rid of a sizable hornet nest that was in my vinyl siding at the hose faucet with a vacuum cleaner. Sat on a lawn chair for about 45 minutes of pure entertainment. They kept trying to attack the end of the vacuum wand and got sucked in. Knew I was winning when they started coming out with their larvae in their jaws towards the end. There was no other way of getting to them and I knew better than to take the vinyl siding off. There is a yellow jacket nest somewhere on my property that I need to locate before I stumble into them. See them all over the place. -

Question that's been bothering me lately ... why the media emphasis against black racism regarding black on white crime? Spokespersons are coming out frequently with these statements after horrific crimes. Does this mean they are incapable of being racist? Aren't they equal in rights? /sarcasm -
Calling all wood cutters, loggers and chainsaw enthusiasts

When the tornado hit Apison a couple years ago, I bought a couple saws and did over a couple hundred hours volunteering clearing land helping those folks out. I never saw devastation like that in my entire life. Never thought I'd handle a saw again till that happened. Worked in the woods several years in my late teens and early twenties and got out of it when I saw my relatives retire as cripples working in the woods their whole life. I still got them and put them to use a couple months ago felling a 34 inch oak that was ailing and dropping large limbs on my lawn. I remember helping my uncles twitch wood with horses when I was younger. Interesting to watch them load logs on a truck with horses. Indirectly gave me a fascination with physics which led to my choosing engineering as a career. You can do a lot with a good horse. -
With a shotgun ... through the door? Oh wait ...

Is night vision legal in Georgia?
-
Do you use night vision? I'm saving up for a unit along with some cans to quiet things down. Would love to learn as much as I can from someone that has done it.

I hope you are happy for destroying my quiet, peaceful and serene life! I'm gonna go to my local witch doctor and pay to cast a spell on you! www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwCALR8ZAm8

Brother from another mother .... ???

Spoke to a warden a couple years ago about this subject. They knew certain people imported hogs for leased hunts profit. Knowing and proving are two separate things. When asked about how they knew, he told me about areas that had no hog problems and all of a sudden, like an island or a ripple in a pond, the hog population expanded from that area. If a farmer really wants to get rid of them, there are ways to put you on their list. Hopefully by next year, I'll be set up to do some effective night hunting.
