You would think after the 5th Circuit Federal Appeals Court b-itch slapped the ATF over the bump stock ban overreach they would have abandoned this folly to change the rules on pistol braces. But, no. Full steam ahead because we - the ATF - answer to no one. To paraphrase Whose Line is it Anyway: "Welcome to the ATF, where everything’s made up and the law doesn’t matter.”

Toss me in with the "love the Glock 43X" crowd. For me, it is the goldilocks carry gun. Enough ammo on board to make me happy, skinny & light enough to actually carry, & enough grip to hold onto so I can actually shoot it well. It has been impeccably reliable thus far, too (200 rnds so far without a malfunction.)

Alec Baldwin childhood pic?

Painful to watch the beat down Georgia gave The Horned Frogs but proud of how far that underdog of a team made it this year. I agree with earlier post that Alabama should have been in the mix if we were looking for a competitive matchup. The SEC is just on another level. On the plus side, the two playoff games were off the chart close & exciting so we got two great games out of three; that's not too bad.

I have Ruger 77s & Remington 700s & my Tikka T3 is better than both in regards to action smoothness & metal to metal fit. The Tikka trigger is better as well. Many find the Tikka's to be very accurate but mine must be the exception (.338 Win Mag that won't do better than 2", three shot groups @ 100 yards.) But I'm still trying different ammo so maybe I'Il find something it likes @ some point. It's accuracy hasn't held it back as it has helped me take an elk and a bison so far. For the money, I would definitely recommend the Tikka T3 to others & will likely buy others for myself. Only real nit to pick is I do not like the plastic bottom "metal" but I can't say I've ever heard it causing a problem for anyone. But I like my action screws to bear on metal when snugged up...not plastic. Just a "me" thing. There are companies that sell bottom metal that is actually metal so its a 'fixable' situation. Tikka - they're good rifles! I was surprised.

If it kicks hard, sell it. If it's inaccurate, sell it. If it's broken/non-functional, sell it. If it's chambered in a funky cartridge you can't buy or is super expensive, sell it. If you look at it & have no feelings for it one way or another, sell it. That should get you down to guns you like, you can shoot, & you can still enjoy having around.

This was a post on the AK forum from a member named "DamascusKnifemaker": "Ironhandjohn passed away today (Jan 1st, 2023) which was a real shock to me as I saw him yesterday at the gun show in Murfreesboro, TN. Apparently he fell down some steps at his apartment and suffered a fatal injury. I just now heard about it from a mutual friend. I know some folks here liked to bust his balls but I knew him in person and he was a really good guy. Rest in peace to him and prayers for his family." Then his passing was separately confirmed by a co-worker of his @ Barrett (see attached from post on AR forum today.) From what I've read, he was in his early 50s & of the Sioux Indian Nation. He seemed well respected on both the AR & AK forums. There is no funeral planned but his family will have a wake for him (date? time? Unknown...) So much life ahead. Who thinks of stairs as a high risk activity?! Apparently he had bad knees & that was a longstanding problem for him. I don't know if that was a contributing factor or not. Sad to lose a member of our community. I'm reminded once again tomorrow isn't promised to any of us. Godspeed ironhandjohn

I'm in for a TCU miracle over Georgia. I'd like to see the underdog get the win. Go Horned Frogs!

I would agree with that assessment. It kicks less than the .30-06, too, which is a plus as we 'mature' & recoil becomes more bothersome.

Voted yes because it took place at the wife's Christmas party & John McClain gave Hans the greatest gift of all - the gift of flight!

Classic rifle & cartridge combo; congratulations! Remington 700s are very strong actions with a super quick locktime. The .270 Win is the perfect combination of flat shooting & hard-hitting without being too punishing to the trigger puller. As for advice, sight in 1.8" high at 100 yards and you can hit exactly at your point of aim (plus or minus 2 inches) out to 250 yards. Merry Christmas to you!

NFL legend Franco Harris, known for Immaculate Reception, dead at 72!
Frog4aday replied to The Legion's topic in General Chat
My wife is a lifetime Steelers fan & cried at the news Franco had died. He meant something to the fans & by all accounts he was a funny, standup, decent man. God bless him & his family. As I write this we are only two days away from the 50th anniversary of his "immaculate reception". It would have been great if he could have made it to see & celebrate the day with all the fans. Thanks for the memories Mr. Harris. -

Man's best friend? I think not! -
Sad. I can't believe she was 71 y/o. Time is just slipping away & the birthdays keep coming. Until they don't. God speed Ms. Alley.

Georgia. They are good everywhere (offense/ defense/ special teams.)

Limbsaver makes a nice slip-on pad that would be just the ticket for trips to the range. https://limbsaver.com/products/airtech-slip-on-recoil-pad

I think this makes the most sense to me. USC looked dominant against Notre Dame. They look like the 3rd best team to me. Alabama won the iron bowl against Auburn, but all that game did was highlight how (relatively) weak Alabama's defense seems this year. And I still believe offense sells tickets but defense wins games. 'Bama needed a more dominant performance to have a chance @ sneaking into the CFP . USC looked like the winner (comparing the two against each other.)

So...Alabama breaks back into top 4 to make CFP? LSU lost. Clemson lost. Ohio State lost. Could it actually happen?

I had an electric hot water heater with a leaky t&p valve that cost me $350 in electricity one month when normal bill was $125 a month. Electric company offered no help in figuring out what changed to jack up my bill. Then I heard water running in garage one night. Touched the t&p drain pipe & burned my hand. Valve was continuously leaking hot water! New hot water heater & bill dropped to $105 the next month. Just a thought for something to chk. $750 is a monster of an electric bill. Doesn't seem right.

It looks like someone lost a bet, lol!

So...Georgia wins it all this year? Clemson didn't look like a top 4 team against unranked Notre Dame. Tennessee was like a beautiful sports car that just lost all four wheels while going 100 mph. Alabama just can't get it done against fired up, determined opponents. I don't see anyone (Ohio State?) touching Georgia at this point. Let's hope TN & AL can pull it together between now & playoff time & hope for a glorious rematch for the ages.

I love me some GP-100! But the S&W 686 stirs my soul, too. My first reaction to your 'end-all-be all' comment was "Colt Python" (new one) but then you clarified you wanted simple with easy take down & few parts...getting us back to...Ruger GP-100!

Google translates thusly: gyaitmfhrnbibya = Get your a$$ in the m f house right now before I beat your a$$. Used in a sentence: "You had better gyaitmfhrnbibya."
