I hear a lot of horror stories lately about customer service. I'm not aiming this at you, but I think you'd be amazed at the current quality of the average customer today. If all a person deals with is idiots every day, they soon forget how to treat a genuine human being when they run across one.

Definitely not a Leupold. I've never heard of them not honoring their warranty.

Because they have it and nobody else does.   It sucks, but economically, it's a better deal than spending all day and a tank of gas driving around looking for it elsewhere.

It's up to you, but I'd say you're there based on your criteria.   My plinking load is a 55 grain FMJBT Hornady loaded with CCI #400 primers and a max dose of IMR 4320. I figure there are better powders, but this one works great, fills the case up to the neck, is reasonable accurate, and provides 100% reliability in all my rifles. It is also widely available while other powders are hard to find at times.   I find a good crimp, while not necessary in my opinion, helps slightly with accuracy. It'll also lessen the chance of bullet setback, however, I've never had a problem with that while not crimping.   Accuracy loads are a whole 'nuther matter. :cool:

Get that thing checkered and you'll have a jewel for sure! I love it.

Have a truck drive who knows how to spread gavel with his truck bring some "crusher run" from the local rock quarry. You can fix some minor errors with a shovel and rake. As you drive on this, and as it rains, the dust in the crusher run gravel causes it to compact and get really hard. It makes a much better driveway than the 3/4" rock a lot of people use.   If you are having drainage problems with your long driveway, you really need access to a tractor and box scraper. Honestly, maintaining your own place out in the country takes a bit of money.

I'd be suspect of your chronograph. I don't believe there's any way whatsoever that a crimp could cause what you've described.   I do not own a chronograph, but the only difference I've noticed when crimping is a slight edge in accuracy with some loads.   I've never seen a significant point of impact change between crimped and non crimped loads that were otherwise similar.   Were you shooting a target? Where were your bullets hitting? Were you getting a decent group?

Even if I forget my carry gun, my wife always has hers.     The last time I was in St. Louis, I carried a 380 and was quite glad I had it. Today, I would feel woefully under armed there with a 380.
