Yes...that's the big problem. Not going into reasons, that can be too much to get into tonight. We, as once a manufacturing nation, are not any longer. Way too many products from outside our borders. Too many companies and jobs lost.

You are so very right, Raoul! I've stored ammo in the 50cal cans for years. But for some strange reason, as I've gotten older, those cans of 45 sure have gotten heavier! I used to load one of the 50 cal cans with all my shooting ammo, and pack my range bag. The were managable back then. I since learned to take 2 pistols or less in my bag.

Recommend a handgun and a carry holster for a newbie
hipower replied to jgradyc's topic in Women's Perspectives
Yes, plus the nice curvature of the waist and hips add to holding a belt/holster in place. A lot of guys can do it as well, but not me. Gig belly and no butt. Use suspenders constantly. -
I really like this! Almost ordered one, but then I'd have to a great looking handle for it. I just may have to talk with GT about this. lol

I agree on the WWB. I've bought a few thousand rounds over the years, mostly because it was all that I could get. Also as OhShoot says...it was cheap. It was always pretty good. More accuracy capable than I am. Had a few fte/ftf over the years, but nothing really frequent. Those will happen pretty much sooner or later to everyone. But as Steelharp notes, yeah, it leaves a lot of residue. My favorite commercial loads in 45/9 for target and range use include Sellier&Belliot, Fiochi, and strangely enough, the BlazerBrass is pretty good too. Sorry, I got a bit off the topic here. I have a 5" XD45 that I trade into about 6 years ago. It is absolutely a fantastic pistol. I cannot find but one flaw with it and the rest of the full size XD line...they are bulky. Great for recreation. A bit large for carry, at least for me.

I usually just give them a couple of bucks. If the weather is really bad. like freezing rain and snow, maybe a bit more.

That's good. You need to follow his orders, but at some point we all have to get out of the house. It becomes so closed in for me that I just have to get away. However, while driving the wife to work and then picking her up every day for the past month has been a time consuming job. Fighting traffic in and out of downtown Nashville is not my favorite thing to do. It usually occupies 3-4 hours every day. That and the weather, and my hopefully gone respiratory issues, have kept me very close to home these days. I hope to start out next week with a few things I've been waiting to do.

Yeah, I've sold a few things and bought a few newer for me. Always wanted the Smith 351PD. Finally found one I'd be willing to pay for. Bought it for me, but I think it may become my wife's house gun. 22Magnum, Scandium frame; so it's small enough and light enough she can handle it. And I feel better with it than the 416 in 22LR. I just need to swap out the Crimson Trace grips and sight it in for her.

Thanks Doug. But I've seen my targets. They are pitiful. I hope to get out soon and try to get better.

I offer you my official welcome to TGO. You got a good start by finding us so quickly. You'll find many helpful people, with lots of knowledge available here. I don't include myself in the latter group. I'm more of a point and pull the trigger sort of guy. Looking forward to having you here. Although your qualifications sure put me at a disadvantage. lol

Got there a bit earlier than I thought I'd make it. But still long after you left. Had a good laugh when the desk clerk found the bag. She came out holding it out at full arms reach...like she was worried about what it might be. I never said a word. Just thanked her and chatted about how good the lobby looked for a minute and left. Got a buddy looking on the mags too. I had some, but didn't locate them today. Not giving up. My thanks again.

My Review of a 1858 Starr DA revolver
hipower replied to xtriggerman's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
Yes...it is a very neat pistol. It's amazing to see the number and kinds of different pistols that were produced pre and post Civil War. AT least to me. -
Hey, I agree that it is terrible that you have to leave them behind. If I should happen upon some 10 round mags, would I be able to ship them to you? I'm making the assumption that you can use them. lol Not up on the shipping restrictions for Kali. That's the least I can do for your generosity.

I'd gladly take them. Do they have to be picked up tonight?

None of these questions will be resolved until we actually get one in had. Then the buying public will make a choice yay or nay. I'm still riding the fence on this one. But just how many pocket nines can we have to choose from? Seems the number is ever changing. And to JAB, I owned the P3AT, the P32, and the PF9. Sold the first two sadly, should have kept them. I preferred them to the Ruger LCP. Now as to the PF9...I absolutely hated that little bugger. JMO

Yep...you are just as hopeless as the rest of us.

My Performance Center Shield works for me as well. But I sure wish I'd gotten one of the 45 models when they were so cheap a few months back. As I attempt to lose some weight before knee surgery this year, I find myself looking at some other things for carry. Maybe the P10c, it's a possibility.

I love it! That's great! I'd drive it around the neighborhood and wake up all those rowdy party guys that don't let me sleep!
-
Bel Air, Subaru, bikes, trucks. Man make decision! You're as bad a me with picking my favorite 9! That will be an impressive setup when finished...heck it is now.

Wish I had that much garage space! I need to get it cleaned out this year.
-
Did a quick looksee at your page. Wasted tonight, so I'll go and spend some time later. Looks good though!

My first thought is that I don't like it. Second thought ...it's not too ugly. Just not what I'm used to my Shields looking like. Doubt I would go for it in a 380 though.

TGO 10year Anniversary Knife Official Thread
hipower replied to willis68's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
Morning buddy! Paypal funds just sent for #5. Again, thanks for this...I think. lol -
While I try not to be overtly political in vocal or written commentary, and usually succeed...under threat of pain from my wife; I do think you made the right decision David. Whether or not we all can get along is another matter. There are just so many very strong minded individuals here it might be very difficult.

Glad you could keep this very important weapon. May it never have to be used like that again...nor your new duty weapon either.
