A set of kitchen knives gone to a new home....

All of the above comments! Fabulous!! -
Then I would try one. But for me, I believe I'll pass on it.

According to their store locator, I believe you are right. For me, it's about 62 miles each way. I almost ordered the R51. I had the order all but done...But I kept remembering all the horror stories on it. Went to the RK sale page and read the reviews from RK customers on it. Doesn't give me a good feeling on them. Just too many negative reviews and complaints on the R51 and Remington's past performance on the rebates. I deleted the order. Right or wrong? I'd rather put the money towards an M&P M2. I've fondled and drooled over one of these and feel a lot better about the M&P than the Remington. Just too much going against it.

A great deal to be said for a gift like this. Hope all is well with you and family.

Back in the days when SNL was actually funny.

As you inferred, not my style of usual listening; but a very strong song/video combination.

Those prices! Wow, do I feel old! I remember Dad spending 5 bucks on one for me and the family had a raging fit.

See my avatar? You can probably guess my comments. There are more things in Heaven and Earth...we shouldn't be too surprised at what's really in some warehouse out there. lol

Maybe...but not certain on it. I've bought things from them twice. Satisfied with what I got and the service, but that service can be pricey. Delivery charge for a 20 mile round trip, and set up where I wanted was right at 300. That did not include the "install."

In the long distant past...I moved my first safe, a 24x32x60, myself with a standard refrigerator dolly. Up 2 steps, across a threshold and down a narrow hallway. When we moved, I paid someone else to do it and never looked back. Over the years, I've bought a few, and the worst was a huge Stack-On model that Dick's young employees laid on my flat trailer. I brought it home and tarped it over until I got 4 strong guys from our workplace to come and take it off the trailer and put it where I wanted it. Cost me about 50 bucks for beer. I never complained.

YES!

Next we'll have to bring back the Kentucky Conan and his lovely companion! lol

Not a fan of heavy engraving are we?

Yeah, I spotted that last night myself; but was really groggy and didn't think to mention it.

Personally, I feel that these were very underestimated pistols. Very accurate and easy to hold and shoot. Once you got past the grip safety, for those who hated it, a very good pistol. I still have a 5'' 45 in my safe. And I never understood what all the ruccus about the grip safety was for. Heck it's just like a 1911. Can you hold a 1911 without crying about it? Same thing.

Well...all this certainly has been a real buzz kill. Guess I'll wait for the dvd release now.

Post the last firearm related thing you bought!

It was a tough choice. I really liked the M2, but just couldn't do it. Strangely, though, I really don't care for the Elite. I much prefer the original TP9SA. It just doesn't seem to feel as good to me. -

Like this. Almost bought one, and I may regret it later. But bought the Canik SFX 5". Now if I can get healthy, maybe I can take it out and shoot it. -
Yes, I've noted several things like that; but found the characters so intriguing that I just glossed over it. I figure if I could stomach the goofball stuff in TWD, I could overlook inconsistences in something I actually liked.

The basic story of the show, i.e., the characters and the location are the same, and you can see that some of the episode scripts were taken from the novels; but there is much, much more depth to the books. Backgrounds on the characters, subplots, and just plain more Walt than the series was able to provide. Many similarities between them, but each can stand alone and be very enjoyable. If you think Walt is a tightly laced, straight arrow from the series, and liked him...you will love the books.

As a longtime Peter Weller fan...I agree. Lucian was a great character, and added a lot to the history and development of Walt. You'll see a bit more of him in Johnson's books though.
-
Also. I caught the series in the beginning and just loved it. Have you read Craig Johnson's Longmire books? They are really, really good. I've bought them all and am waiting for the next one to come out. The last one, The Western Star, is a sort of flashback story telling the beginning of Walt's career. It's a bit darker than previous books, and has a bit of a tv style ending...a clifferhanger for the next book.

Second for The Man in the High Castle. I really have enjoyed it.

My condolences friend. When all is said and done...she was still your mother. That doesn't change the life you had, and didn't have with her. The loss is still a part of you and your life. Grieve in your own way and at the time of your choosing. And grieve you will. Not because of the loss now, but because you are a human being with feelings that are with you and will come out at some point. Because you are human, and because you did what was necessary at the time, you show compassion for her. And you show intelligence recognizing in yourself how you were shaped by your mother to become what you are today.
