  1. Sounds really good! I haven't been much of a cap guy, but am a tee shirt fanatic. My TGO tee could use a backup or 2, it's getting kinda well worn.
  2. Sweet! I wish I wasn't broke.
  3. Or good taste in inexpensive entry level pistols. That's how I got started...buying Tauri and working up. Now I'm buying Keltecs. lol
  4. Thanks for the information and the link. This is a most interesting rifle. I'd not seen anything on this before. I look forward to watching all the video and information.
  5. Did the shooter actually have any way to see where he was firing with this rifle? Or just shoot and pray he hit something?
  6. Ouch! Those are harsh words. lol But from what I'm reading in different sources, they are well deserved.
  7. Good work! I must say that I like the micarta handles perhaps a bit more than the bowie though. I'm just strange that way.
  8. In our house, it's me that turns on the lights. I hate dark rooms. My wife would live with a 10 bulb. So yes, I'm starting to look at LEDs. Just a soon as Uncle Phil and I use all the incandescent Reveal bulbs we bought when Big Al was hyping the evils of those horrible bulbs.
  9. Very interesting looking product! Thanks for the effort you went to for us, and yourself of course. I'll look into this and possibly purchase one.
  10. Yeah...me too. Property taxes coming up. Insurance hikes(I'm sure.) Wife getting set to retire about this time next years So we are looking at supplemental plans. Got it no worse than others here. It all just gets to be draining on us.
  11. Both are awesome! But the Smith gets me going. lol
  12. Not because of the added warmth, but my wife and I have found that with our breathing issues, 67-68 is about as warm as we can stand it. Took several years for us to get to this stage, but we've acclimated to it. BTW, it's 15 here in East Nashville this morning. So stay warm and safe buddy. I have to drive my wife in to work daily for a while, and the only place we have trouble is little grade at the end of our street. and of course, there's a stop sign at the top of the grade. Perfect.
  13. They are very tempting, especially after watch Hickock45's video. But how many 9's doe I need? I think I went past the top number with the HKVP9.
  14. Here in East Nashville, we got about 2". But it's been so cold. I keep the thermostat at 67-68 during the day and about 65 at night. Last bill was 280 something. I'm not looking forward to the next one either.
  15. Good rationale, JAB, but with what I've already accumulated...I don't see myself getting into the Rough Rider products.
  16. Hey DoubleTap. I got signed easily and have to say the site looks very good. No time to look and lurk tonight, but I'll be back soon.
  17. Great 1911! I'm a Sig fan myself.
  18. I'll do that, although I think I will stop the knife buying. It's a habit I just can't afford to keep up. Pistols are bad enough. lol
  19. Just did a little google search, since I wasn't familiar with Rough Rider brand. As you say, there are many locations online to get them. Amazon claims to have over 2000 listings for them. I looked over a few to see what they were. Seems like some very nice traditional knives.
  20. hughd, if you've never been to SMKW it is quite an experience! Biggest place that I have ever been in that is just knife after knife after knife. Go if you have lots of money, lots of will power, and knowledge of what you want. The place will get you into deep, deep, kimchee if you are not careful. That said, it is a fun place to go, and I think the big gun store( name escapes me at the moment) is still right behind SMKW as well.
  21. I'm in total agreement with you on this.
  22. I agree, totally. I just need to follow that advice myself. I freely admit to having been where I shouldn't have been several times. Not necessarily doing bad, evil, or unlawful things; but could have used better judgement at those times. Sadly, several of them involved the 2 biggest problems for a man...women and alcohol.
  23. But when laws are subverted for political correctness no one wins but those in power.
  24. I also thank PP for this posting. And Leroy is on point with his assessment. Political correctness calls for us to bury our heads in the sand and ignore the problems. Until we have the courage to stand up as a nation and say "enough" this will get no better. Law Enforcement needs to be allowed to do what's necessary. Period. I say the downhill slide began when "profiling" became the Left's cause of the week.
  25. Guessing you are in West Tn? That's where the Channel 2 guys said there was that much snow.
