  1. I use ParkWhiz for parking downtown - you search for a spot by location and date, then pay on-line and print out your parking pass.  Works great, and I don't have to stress out about where I'll be parking. http://www.parkwhiz.com/?gclid=CJvR7Pnqr8QCFahZ7Aod3mMA4w   I'm getting a little anxious too about not getting our passes - I registered a while back..

    Where's Putin?

Maybe he's getting a makeover, like Kim Jong-un did recently....
  3. I have a Runt (not the TGO model, unfortunately) and I've learned to hook my index finger under it to pull ito out of my pocket instead of grasping it.  It took a ruined pants pocket to learn that lesson, but could have been worse.
  4. Why do these places make you wait until after they put the drops in your eyes to choose your new frames?  Just sayin.
  5. And of course, the price for said ammo will immediately drop back to pre-panic levels.   Right.
  6. I feel your pain..  Speed-dial system at work was useless.
  7. That got a drinksnort out of me...
  8. "What the BATFE proposes will create a physical shortage of ammunition that will in turn create a stockpile of political ammunition."    Well said.
  9. Can you get in trouble for brandishing a 'non-gun'?
  10. I have a liberal friend who told me once that he would support a flat tax, as long as it was progressive.  :shake:
  11. We don't get spam calls much since we eliminated our land-line, but when we did my favorite thing to do was to ask them to hold on, then hand the phone to my 4 year old..  He knew just enough words to keep them talking for a long time, and he absolutely loved that all these nice people were calling to speak with him.
  12.   ^^^  This is exactly right.  I can afford to pick up a part here and there, but I can't spend the whole amount at once.  (Although I have to admit I usually manage to scrape the $$$ together quicker than I should once I've picked up the lower..)
  13. Building one is a lot more fun than buying one...!
  14. Free Falling (The Irish End Games Series #1) is now priced at $0 for Kindle users at Amazon - don't know how long that will last... http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Free%20Falling%20(The%20Irish%20End%20Games%20Series
  15. I found a cheap ($2 I think) app for iPhone that used actual questions to practice for the test.  It worked great for me because I could practice any time/where I had a few minutes.  I have a Yaesu hand-held that I use sometimes, and a Yaesu FT-2900R mobile set up at the house, both primarily for SHTF or emergency use.  I listened quite a bit when I first got my license, but got a little tired of old farts (like me) talking about where they were on their commute and what they had for dinner.. KK4LNX
  16. I'd like info on price, etc...
  17. I'm going, and would like to be included in any TGO/NRA meeting.  I'd be interested in their take on the political field both in TN and nationally for the next year or two.
  18. Traffic control in La Vergne is nothing compared to the city's zoning issues..
  19. I have a (not very expensive) locked steel box attached by steel cable under the seat frame of my truck that my pistol goes into in the rare instances I can't keep it with me. A thief could probably still get it, but he'd have to be determined and well equipped, IF he could find it in the first place.   As for carrying in Church - that is one of the places I WILL NOT go unless I'm armed..  Too ripe an opportunity for someone who wants to hurt people.
  20. First time I tried 'teaching' my wife the proper way to shoot, we spent about 20 minutes with her trying to hit something while using the sights..  Finally she just lowered the .22 rifle to her hip and put a magazine into the bullseye, then handed it to me and told me she was DONE!   I've never tried telling her how to shoot again.
  21. When I bought a lower in November from Guns N More I had a choice of either $59 (+ tax and background check) or $89 incl 3 pmags - I needed the mags, so took the deal.
  22. Guns N More in Smyrna has them - they are a vendor here and offer a TGO discount.
  23. I work until 7, but I'll try to stop by on my way home.
  24.   Duh...  You're supposet to keep it in your pleather tacticool badge wallet until you need to flip it out like the cool guys do on TV!
  25. Nothing but broadcast TV for 2 years now for our family, and we rarely miss cable/satellite..  We use the money we save to buy our favorite programs when they come out on DVD, and everybody is happy.  We now have 2-3 days per week that the TV doesn't get turned on, and we can actually speak to each other.
