Memphis Gas Station Attack(video)
WindHawk replied to White Goodman's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Tells all if you are interested: http://www.usnews.com/education/best-high-schools/tennessee/districts/memphis-city-schools/mcs-prep-school---northwest-18125 No wonder people are fleeing from Memphis and their schools. 'Nough said. -
At least according to the web site, I got the last one about 11 last night. Wanted two but they only had one left. Showed "TEMPORARILY... as soon as the order processed. I got an order acknowledgement and my CC was hit so hopefully I'll get a shipping notice before to long.

Dunno but I might have a record! Joined in 2007, benefactor ... and still haven't made "Member". :dunno:

'Splains everything! My guns are haunted! Most of the time I put them center on-target but the bullets hit someplace else! Good to know why... Anybody know how to do an exorcism on a gun??

+1 on K191145's comment and the others too. From their web site : "NORC at the University of Chicago" "From our founding in 1941 through 2010, we were incorporated as the National Opinion Research Center. In 2010, to reflect the many changes in our mission and the global nature of our work, our to-do-business (TDB) name was established as NORC. NORC is not an acronym, it is our name, as with organizations such as IBM, AT&T, RAND, and GEICO. We use NORC at the University of Chicago to emphasize our close affiliation with the University." Offices in downtown Chicago, the University of Chicago, DC Metro including on Pennsylvania Ave. and Bethesda, MD., Boston, San Francisco and Atlanta. No anti-gun bias in these areas, right? You get any result you want on any survey by wording the questions carefully and then asking them to the "right" sample group. Think it's possible could they be using the "doctors' office questionnaire"? Who knows? ^_^

It varies a lot depending on the time of year and weather. Right now with no hunting season coming up the crowd should less but the long freeze + a nice day will probably draw a crowd. Will definitely be muddy for a while with the thawing ice, etc.

Let's look at this: 1) taxes and budgetary measures, 2) education policy, 3) regulatory policy and 4) health care policy measures "Freedom!". Guess I'm no where near as smart as the folks in that "think tank" cause I'm missing something here. http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php/John_Locke_Foundation: "The John Locke Foundation (JLF) is a right-wing pressure group based in North Carolina. It describes itself as "an independent, nonprofit think tank that would work for truth, for freedom, and for the future of North Carolina." Annual Revenue: $3,000,000+; “On its website JLF states that it is a 501(c)(3) "non-profit, nonpartisan think tank supported entirely from voluntary contributions. JLF does not and would not accept government funds. It has received support from nearly 1,500 individuals, businesses, and foundations." [38] JLF does not disclose its corporate or foundation funders.” Just a country boy's thoughts for what they're worth.

Great to see the jokes back! Hope you're feeling much better soon.

That's a well documented scammer's phone number: http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-213-337-0014 Looks like they use several things: IRS / Debt / Computer Virus "cleaning" / Fake Charity donations.

I'm in Ashland City but would be interested in meeting people and putting faces with some names. It depends on the date and time but my schedule is pretty flexible.

Not being tin foil wearing here, but how do you think Google knows traffic conditions? Cell phone triangulation and gps data. Having an app show a notification depending on location is easy for them. - Yes, our cell phones are the basis for the system. It's surprising how many people don't connect the dots. I'm not planning to shut mine off and go "off the radar" but I do have privacy concerns with the path our society seems to be following. If by "bad guys" you mean our own government via the NSA, than yes. - Define "bad guys" however you choose; a lot of "hacks" appear to come from outside the USA. Once information is stored in a database anywhere it's accessible if someone wants to try hard enough.
-
Google will automatically put the bar code to scan in your notification center when you walk into the store. Personally, this scares the #### out of me! Sounds like your location is being monitored constantly. If Google can track you and link the database they're building on you the "bad guys" probably can too.

NRA 2015 Annual Meetings and Exhibits, Nashville TN
WindHawk replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
Great idea for a meeting w/NRA. I definitely plan to go; probably will volunteer some too. -
Although I certainly don't agree with a lot of what they publish the Tennessean has an interesting letter in the editorials today. The writer says commercially printed signs with the web site www.revcom.us are being used by some Brown/Garner etc. protesters. A quick search did not find any signs with that on them but did uncover a lot of references to the subject. The web site itself confirms who the group are and their interests and activities. You might want to check it out.

I read an interesting article on the net earlier today about the lawyers in the Toyota "uncontrolled acceleration" class action lawsuit getting 500 times more in fees and expenses ($200 million fees and $27 million for expenses if I remember correctly) than all the plaintiff's combined ($395,000+ for a small group and less than $30 for all the others). To me, that sums up the problem with these situations pretty well. EDIT: JohnC's post on the PBS gun poll includes an interesting video - the network coverage at the time repeatedly stated the Bushmaster AR-15 was found in his car; never taken into the school. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HK8Z5K5M2Dw&feature=player_embedded

Just select a "random" Saturday. Do tough gun control laws stop shootings? Let's see... Illinois - 8 (7 in Chicago) New York - 7 Florida - 7 Texas - 6 California - 6 New Jersey - 4 Connecticut - 3 Interesting.

Bah, Humbug! - I'll play, too.

Thanks, Oh Shoot. I didn't know the shot would help after you've already had shingles. I'll talk with my doc on the next visit.

Been there; done that. The t-shirt isn't worth the "bragging rights". They make you down right miserable. I still itch and feel "crawly things" if I think about them. I was told that they are typically only on one side of your body; something to do with the nervous system. Unless there's a medical reason, even if the vaccine is 50-70% effective as Oh Shoot says, I sure consider it.

Pleasant View Village Diner 214 Village Square (off Hwy 41A) Pleasant View, TN Sign by the front door: "Firearms Welcome. Please keep all weapons holstered unless the need arises. In such a case judicious marksmanship is appreciated." Plus good food too. If you like them their chicken liver dinner is excellent . http://www.newvillagediner.com/ I'm not part of the business, just a satisfied customer.

I wonder if this would work? Glow in the dark paint+fiber optic
WindHawk replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in Handguns
I have some replacement fiber optic sight material - several colors - that I'll donate some to "the experiment". PM me an address if you'd like to have some mailed to you. -
Definitely want to get the information. Probably one, maybe two or three.
