  1. I first saw the Beretta Fusion a couple years ago & wondered if Beretta would ever release it to the public. I just got my answer. They only made 90 of these all steel hand fitted beauties to be sold worldwide & Bud's has one in Lexington, but I'm a little short on funds...about $11,000 short.  Ironically, even though they're priced high, they'll all probably all be sold in a few days. Last year an ultra rare (transferable) Beretta 93R sold for $55,000 on Gun Broker. :stunned:   http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21_52/products_id/411555699/Beretta+92FS+Fusion+9mm+Exclusive+1+of+60   Here are some more pics of it on Berettas Italian site.  http://www.beretta.com/it-it/92-fs-fusion/
  2.   +1. I've heard more than one military "expert" along with a couple officers say in interviews that we would mainly consider the .45 round if we expected an attack on U.S. soil because the .45 is more readily available here than anywhere else in the world. Maybe they're preparing for a Zombie invasion...ahem...or Muslim invasion (same difference) here in the U.S. Otherwise, 9mm is going to be here for a while. It's odd that Beretta's PX4 Storm SD was the only .45 to pass all of SOCOM's trials a few years back & they still went with the 9mm.
  3. Whenever I get a call from companies, sales, etc... I always ask for their number so I can check it out on my own. If they refuse to give me their number I know it's BS right then & there. In a case like this, you can go online & do a number search or call the IRS yourself & report it to see if it's legit or not. 99.9% these are scams.
  4.   The sad part is today that would get SWAT called in on us & maybe even get our kids shot by trigger happy police. It's a sad world when I actually have to worry about letting my kids play with a toy gun. Now they all have to be a bright neon green or yellow or some other crap color & even then people act like you're a bad parent for letting kids have them. I miss the old days more than words can say.
  5. I still have the one my parents bought for me nearly 40 years ago. It's all olive drab green, though & never had an orange tip. It still works too. The newer toys sure aren't made to hold up like the old ones. I can't imagine the one on ebay selling for that ridiculous price. I've seen $10 items listed for hundreds of dollars, but it doesn't mean the seller got his money out of them. One seller will ask $500 while another will ask $50. I have to wonder what goes through the heads of some ebay sellers (and some of the buyers too). :screwy:
  6. More info from Beretta... http://gearscout.militarytimes.com/2014/12/30/the-m9a3-berettas-shrewd-move/   The grip design & the fact that a drop in G conversion is available for this model along with a lower MSRP will be big selling points for Beretta customers. I may have to pick one up when it gets a "Made in TN" stamp. I think I'd still prefer mine in black, though.  :usa:
  7.   Lightening the DA pull on a 92/96 model is as simple as installing a 92D model (double action only) hammer spring. It's a $5 part, only takes 5 minutes, & lightens the DA pull by 3-4 lbs. It's a factory part that keeps your pistol 100% reliable & I have them installed in all my Berettas. You can have it converted from FS to G, but it's a little expensive & requires machine work on the slide. There are a couple great gunsmiths on the Beretta forum that do FS-G conversions if you're interested. If you buy a 90-Two you can simply buy drop in G parts, but the parts run about $150-$170. That's one thing I like about the Cougars. Converting to G is free & only takes about 15 minutes & they make D springs for Cougars too.
  8. Beretta has been pretty busy lately. They just released the upgraded 92 Brigadier's ordered by Wilson Combat & have been talking about bringing back some older models that Beretta fans have been begging for like the Brigadier & the Vertec & maybe even some more Elite models. I don't know if Beretta will ever produce the Combat or Steel 1 models again, but it appears there are going to be some great things coming out of the new TN plant in the next couple years.
  9.   My wife & I watched it Tuesday night at my local theater. Well worth seeing, but I agree that these three don't quite compare to the LOTR trilogy. I quickly got tired of the CG "ninja" elves & dwarfs in part two... (the ridiculous barrel escape down the river  :shake: ). Now I've got to wait for the new Star Wars next year. I hope Disney does it justice, but it's doubtful any will compare with the original episodes IV, V, & VI.
  10. +1. I like my Beretta G models over my FS models. Besides my FS pistols I also have two Elite G & three Beretta Cougar G pistols. No safety to deal with. Decocker only. Here's what the Vertec (M9A3) looks like in all black & stainless. About the only difference in the M9A1 & the new M9A3 is the shape of the grip. The Vertec (M9A3) has a 1911 style flat back strap. Otherwise they're virtually the same pistol. They both can still hold up to 18 +1 round capacity with flush fit mags. The Vertecs have become very sought after by Beretta collectors & can sell for a few hundred dollars more then the regular 92FS too. It's not unusual for used Vertecs to go for $700-$900 depending on the model & condition.
  11. http://www.beretta.com/en-us/beretta-usa-presents-next-generation-handgun-to-the-department-of-defense/ The Beretta M9A3... basically, it's a Beretta Vertec with the addition of checkered front & back straps. I admit the Vertecs I've checked out look better in all black or stainless, but I'm glad to see Beretta bringing back the Vertec along with the Brigadier. :usa:
  12. Sorry...I forgot to add a gratuitous .45 acp polygonal barrel shot.
  13. Not a huge difference in them, but the compact does have a slightly smaller grip, is about 3/4" shorter, most of them have a bobbed hammer. If it helps, both are +p & +p+ rated, but the full size has the dual recoil spring assembly to tame high power ammo a little better. Here's a photo of mine & a link that tells you more about them... http://www.genitron.com/Compare/Selected-List.aspx
  14. I used to own a Mossberg 500 with a rifled slug barrel. The rifled barel, fire sights, & sabot slugs make a deadly combination & are good well beyond 100 yards. I used to shoot standard rifle & pistol paper targets at 150 yards & could easily hit in the center ring almost every shot. They make an excellent hunting "tool".
  15.   Yes. We used to watch programs on youtube, but now they've started charging fees for a lot of programs. Right now we're trying a trial month of Hulu, & next month may try Netflix or the one you mentioned to see what we like best. We may start selling off our DVD collection to make room & fund a "smart" TV so we don't have to sit at the computer to watch. I've been collecting DVDs for 15 years & the last time we counted & sorted them we had a little over 2,200 DVDs at my house & even they get old after a while.
  16. I miss those old Christmas specials. Unfortunately since the digital TV change over a few years ago we can't pick up network stations in my area anymore & cable is really, REALLY expensive where I live. Now we have to buy everything on DVD or watch it on our computer if we want to watch anything.
  17. Nashville...good luck getting the stench of the ghetto president out of your town. It's gonna take more than a few of those pine tree air fresheners. :puke:  Have I metioned lately that I don't care so much for the :censored: ?
  18.   I used red & white Lacquer Stix... ;)
  19. I added some textured pre-cut grip panels to my full size & the grip feels really agressive now. They feel like 100 grit sandpaper that's been rubberized. I haven't decided if I'll add a set to the compact yet.
  20. The compact feels good in my hands & I'm using snap caps for dry fire practice, but I haven't shot it yet. It's actually not too compact, unless you compare it to the full size & the full size is just a huge pistol all around. I'd like to see how the compact recoil compares to the full size model since it uses a different recoil system. The compact version is pretty much a full size compared to a lot of other compact pistols out there. I've already ordered a reduced power (12lb) hammer spring to slightly reduce the heavy DA pull & may end up getting some trigger/action work done, but that will be further down the road. My next challenge right now may be finding affordable magazines for it. Oddly, most compact mags I've found seem to be more expensive than the ones for my full size USP. If I'm patient enough I'll find some reaonably priced.
  21. Thanks to a trade with "BerettaBri" my full size USP 45 now has a companion. Here's my, new to me, H&K USP 45 Compact. Unfortunately, I didn't get to hit the range with it today, but this evening I took it apart to give it a good once over. It was already very clean so all I really had to do was add my choice of lube to the rail/slide area. BerettaBri was a great guy to deal with & I'm really looking forward to putting some rounds through the compact & possibly adding it to my carry rotation. Hopefully a range report will shortly follow.
  22. My wife & I already have tickets to see it on Tuesday December 16th at our local theater. We're going to the regular 2D version. I've never really enjoyed the 3D version of most movies.
  23. Protesters in the way? Isn't that what "bumpers" are for?  :dirty:
  24. Oh, yeah! SMKW is Disneyworld for us guys & they even have stuff the ladies like too. My dad started taking me there almost 30 years ago back when they were at their old location down the road. A lot of memories with that place. I also agree that their prices stay pretty competitive on most things.
  25.   Thanks. That'e the cheapest I've seen any ammo in a couple years. I'm planning to pick up more of both. I used to buy Blazer aluminum .45acp for $16.97 a few years ago when it was available at my local WM. It was the cleanest ammo I've ever used. Now it's aout $25 or more when you see it & my local store doesn't carry it anymore. I haven't shot any of the BrassMaxx I bought made in Herzegovina yet because I've heard a lot of negative reviews about it, but everyone seems to have high praises for the Tula made in Italy (Fiocchi).
