  1. I'm 5'7",190 lbs and I do. It's not just for the extra rounds, because of course you can carry a larger mag. I like the extra barrel length for more velocity, less muzzle blast and a bit longer sight radius.
  2. Excellent info. Good to know they're durable. One question. Do they actually reduce noise, or simply cut out during loud sounds?
  3. These nutjobs can rationalize anything. Incest, rape, bestiality, and pedophelia don't seem to be problems. So a little bacon thrown on top of that is just icing.
  4. I would say MOST of the time. Sometimes, "they" just want a conviction under their belt.
  5. Actually, I'd say he's out in RIGHT field. I've only seen him live one time. Way before he was famous, he did a show at UTK back in the '90s. I specifically remember Peanut, but can't remember which other characters he had at that time.
  6. To be fair, a semi-wadcutter is ugly in any auto cartridge.
  7. Here's another that I've considered. More of a ghost-ring than aperture, though. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/920514/xs-ghost-ring-hunting-sight-set-marlin-336-30as-and-1894-with-integral-ramp-fits-newer-700-hole-space-front-base-steel-matte
  8. WTF? I click on a topic that appears to be common English. It opens, and every word I read is gibberish.?
  9. I'll give them credit. At least they're improving. According to the article, no bystanders were hit. That's an improvement.
  10. Gasp! Not a huge fan of the PS90, but an adaptation of the AR57 using the top-mounted 50 round mag and ejecting out the mag well. I'd have to start saving up.
  11. At one time, KPD (or Knox County?) actually put dummies in the cars. Then told the media about it. It was really effective.
  12. I carry a Glock 31. Until I find a carry piece that I won't need to remove when entering "sensitive" areas, I am looking for a paddle holster. Unfortunately, my current situation necessitates taking my piece off and on and I'm getting tired of threading my belt through it. I'm seriously thinking about the Safariland 568. Have any of you used it. What do you think about it? I'm also open to other suggestions. Thanks.
  13. And a rebuke. Of "running"   http://preparedgunowners.com/2015/10/08/when-running-will-get-you-killed-against-an-active-killer-with-pictures/
  14. No, not at all. It's much more serious.
  15. Not sure if you realized that you you don't need your carry permit to shoot, or even buy, a handgun here.  But good on ya for getting it.
  16. I recently spent three weeks working in Northern Cal (Redding).  I must say, the people there reminded me of the "gun culture" in this state.  They are some of the most freedom-loving and gun-loving people I have met.  I won't go into details because they're still behind the curtain.  The odd thing is that I was working with government employees.  CalFire, US Forest Service, and retired Forest Service.   There is, unsurprisingly to me now, a very active movement to separate from central and southern Cal and create the State of "Jefferson".  I saw quite a few signs while driving around, especially in the more rural areas.   Very nice country.  Even if it is prone to burning fiercely.  I didn't get much time to see the sights, but the one day I got off, we (I traveled with a buddy from the Smokies) climbed Mt. Lassen.  It's a volcano that last erupted in 1915. (Oops.  Last MAJOR eruption was 1915.  There were smaller ones in the years after.)   I'm in pretty decent shape, but the thin air at 10,000 feet had me sucking wind.  I must have stopped a couple dozen times before the top.  And the grade wasn't even that steep.  Of course my buddy, who hikes in the Smokies for a living, beat me by half an hour.     There are fields full of large rocks, probably hundreds of square miles, from the really big eruption of Tehama (the original mountain), which was tens of thousands of years ago.  From a long distance (Redding), you can see the edges of Tehama, miles away from the present peak.  And millennia later (can't remember the estimated timeline), Lassen Peak poked up through the rubble of the original mountain.     Seriously, driving by these fields full of these enormous rocks, one can imagine that it would have been terrifying to have been within one hundred miles of the explosion, with these rocks falling all around (and maybe ON) you.  But I don't think humans were yet on this continent at the time.   I would have liked to visit the Redwoods, Mt. Shasta, the coast, and a bunch of other places, but we didn't get a chance.     I missed Little Man, and I probably won't travel that far, or for that amount of time, away from him again.  Aside from that, and the flights, it was a pretty good trip.  Made decent money (thanks taxpayers) and got to see a part of the country I've never visited before.
  17.   Do you have a .22? If not, I know somebody who does.
  18. Stopped by there today. Pretty good prices on powder. Also a couple Anderson lowers for $50.
  19. This is it. Someday I will build a house. And we will have separate bathrooms.
