  1. I can't lie, I really, really want a pair of these.
  2. All Glock lovers are wrong.
  3. I am 190lb at 6'. This is a trim build, think working man, not 'built.' In slim cut jeans I can drop my Micro Eagle in a pocket holster and it looks like a wallet. With a loose shirt I can carry my G19 in a IWB holster with little notice. I can not wear a fitted shirt (and damn do I have the chest and arms for it now,) the narrow waist makes an obvious print. Overall, you will have to pick what works for you, but first and foremost, the piece of plastic (HCP) is the first step.
  4. Because I have been told I am wrong regardless of my opinion or basis on it lately, I am going to stick with that. If you are sold on .45ACP. get a Glock 30. It will do everything and more that you want. If you are set on a 9x19mm, get a Glock 19. If however you realize that the value of an HCP is irrelevant to the firearm you choose, just carry the 1911. The permit is more valuable than the gun IMO. I carry a G19. Unless I am feeling lazy, then I carry the Micro Eagle because it is super simple to drop in a pocket.
  5. After consideration I can only get behind this concept it there is an A2 on all four corners.
  6. I have a CZ75 Clone (the Jericho, arguable aesthetically superior) and I will tout the qualities of the Glock all day. Since buying my daughter one I am leaning toward the M&P, but Glock owns my heart and trust.
  7. You have yet to tell us what your more expensive, heavy and complicated Sigs and Berettas do that a Glock doesn't. I am about done with this thread as it is obvious the OP just wanted to get a rise out of anyone, and not a healthy discourse.

I am not a NASCAR fan. I can't recall any other race I have watched. But on a chance, I remember the day that one happened. Richard Petty is the only other NASCAR driver I hold in similar esteem. Being in 'that' scene, I told my wife when Paul Walker died, and Dale in discussion, if I go out doing what I love, and how I lived, don't mourn me. Celebrate that I did what I did on my terms.
  9. And that is the greatest thing about capitalism.
  10. Do you own, or have you shot any Glocks? Or are you just trying to incite conversation?
  11. I own a pair of G19s. I am accurate with them, and I trust my life, and my family's lives with them. I am a single action revolver guy. I grew up with a Ruger Single Six as the only handgun in the home. That is what I know. When my daughter was born, I knew it was time to move up to something more... modern. I spent about a year researching all the top brands at a price point I was comfortable with. I wanted something that I could trust with the most important things in my life. Over and over again, review after review, professional opinion, opinionated opinion and experienced opinion, it came back to a Glock. I am a 9x19mm guy by default (I inherited 10k rounds) and after just as much research I decided that the G17 or the G19 was exactly what I needed. I then headed to the LGS and spent an hour holding a G17 and a G19. My G19 followed me home, with a serial number I can recite off the top of my head. I have lost count of the rounds, but it has been a lot, several training courses, two HCP/CCDW courses, etc. The only failures have been expected (Korean 33 RD mags suck.) I trust XXX589 so much that last year I went out and bought another G19, this one USA marked. It is even more accurate. Sigs have poor triggers, and cost too much. I have zero experience with H&Ks because they cost too much. Berettas have external safeties and cost to much. Being a Glock devout now, I am anti external safety. I believe in the point and click that Glock has indoctrinated me in. In a moment of 'OH SHI*!' it will not fail me due to an extra step or two. This year I bought my now eleven year old daughter (for her birthday) her choice of handgun, and if Glock made a .22LR handgun, it would have been that. Since they don't, she will be indoctrinated into the world of S&W with her M&P22. It fit the price range I was willing to pay, and if you have seen the pictures I have posted, she can shoot the heck out of it. Gun aficionados can argue as much as they like, but steel is a 1911 world, modern polymer is a Glock world. I own plenty of modern and classic firearms, but the Glocks are what I trust. They have proven themselves to me.
  12. There have been lots of Craigslist killings and robberies. I have been buying and selling on CL for many years. I just make sure to never go alone, always be armed and meet in a public space.
  13. Yes. My grandfather, whom I have maybe five fond memories of (out of fifteen fond memories from the male role models in my entire life) always tipped his barber. To this day, regardless of who ( I don't have a regular barber) cuts my hair, I tip $5. As a result of my cheap old man status, of my ten yearly haircuts, I perform nine of them myself. This means more money to spend on my hobbies most of the year.
  14. I have had a really rough day. My day is nothing in comparison. My heart goes out to you Doug. I would say more, but I have something in my eye right now.
  15. Most A2 handguards mount via a picatinny rail, how would you mount that to a MOE handguard?
  16. I miss being in Tennessee for the classifieds. Here in Kentucky they are a joke. Folks are asking over MSRP for all sorts of items with heavy use. There is a thread right now on a forum by a poster asking why his featureless homebuilt AR isn't selling at $500 even though he has bumped it daily for a month and he has well over $1000 (by his counting) invested... To be honest, (I haven't linked it, or posted it) I have mentioned points from TGO David's post about selling in this market (and given credit ) in response to several questions on the local board regarding selling. I suppose that we take it for granted, but for any of us that haven't left TN, let me make it clear, you are members of the premier local based gun forum, hands down.
  17. The carry handle as in sight/handle? Yeah, that would be legal. Any type of VFG is not legal though. I have reread your post several times and I am not sure I am getting it though, are you using standard nomenclature?
  18. If Peyton comes to coach there would be nothing left of East Tennessee do to all the heads that exploded in Knoxvegas. I personally think it might happen. But not soon.
  19. I am married with a daughter, the only thing I can ask is 'What is cash?' In all seriousness though, no. I do not carry cash. I have a private bank account and a joint bank account. My paycheck is direct deposited into my private account and all of our bills are paid from that. If on the rare occasion I have cash money, from selling an item or the like, it goes to my joint account. I have gone months at a time without seeing or carrying cold hard cash. I have some at home, including a 5g water jug half filled with change. So it is fair to say that I am adapted to modern consumerism.
  20. My daughter and I hit a local range several times a month. We always end the session with Battleship. Or as the targets are called Sink-a-Sub. I shoot the top with a G19. She shoots the bottom with her M&P 22 compact. She can hit any part of the bullseye, I have to hit red. She has been shooting handguns for about two months now. As I have posted before she is a well awarded rimfire/airrifle rifle shooter. This is at 5 yards. She demanded I amend this, as this was the first time I won. 21. I never thought it was that kind of reef... er.
  22. The Wrecker Museum is fun. If you can swing it though, I can't suggest the aquarium enough. I have been to four of the top rated aquariums in the US, Monterrey Bay (IMO the best,) National, Ripley's and Chattanooga. If you can make it, do it. I am a fan of zoos and aquariums though. Your mileage may vary.
