  1. A friend of mine inherited a Model 60 S&W from her dad when he died. She never even knew he owned a gun until he was gone. It's a pinned barrel Model 60 in .38 special, stainless steel. Serial number R185XXX. Does anyone here know about when it was made? Best I can guess it was between 1969 and 1983. It's in perfect condition with the original box. She doesn't want to sell it but would like to know it's value. Thanks.
  2. Talk about a kick to the Kaepernick. Excellent.
  3. I am going over my (deceased) husbands guns. Found a Ruger 22/45 with no magazine in it. Finally found a magazine that(I believe) fits it, put 22lr bullets in it but cannot get it to fire. I do not believe any bullet is in the chamber. What am I doing incorrectly? Thank you.

  5. S&W Model 29, 4" Bbl, 4 Screw, S-Serial Number Prefix, Mfg. 1959 Ruger Super Blackhawk, 7 1/2" Bbl, 3 Screw, Mfg. 1969
  6. FYI! The M9A3 has had and still does more issues with fit and finish than any gun i know of, this includes ones made in Gallatin as well as the newest ones made in Italy, major complaints are the Huge Stake Marks for the extractor on top of slide and issues with splotches in and under the Cerakote. In the past unless 1 saw the issues before purchase then U were out of Luck, since Beretta considers this issue as Cosmetic and that is that! However as of this AM many M9A3's were being sold as NIB for $725. and up including free ship and no CC fees but only 1place had listed these as "Blems" due to probs with Stake Marks on Slide, some were also on GB for $750. no CC and free Ship. Found out a Major Distributor bought thousands of Blems/Seconds and is selling them $125. or so cheaper than the avg. current price of about $850.ish online. So be "Very Cautious" buying 1 anywhere for quite a while according to a "Honest" Dealer! So basically one doesn't know if they are getting a NIB or a NIB Blem. where any finish issues aren't covered! GOOD LUCK!
  7. I recently was given a smith and wesson model 27-2 from my step fathers estate. I don't care what it's worth as it's value to me far exceeds any material value it may or may not have. That being said, how can I tell when it was made and if it's nickel or stainless steel? My gut reaction is that it's nickel since I think it would be a model 627 if it was stainless. However I am no expert. Any help is appreciated. btw the serial number is n4476XX thanks for any help.

    SIG P365

We all had fun with the Glock 19X thread and I ran across this today... SIG's P365 to compete with the Shield & G43 http://soldiersystems.net/2018/01/08/introducing-the-sig-sauer-p365/
  9. I really, really like the EDC X9, but can't afford anywhere near the price. Do you know of anything that would get close, and be affordable? STI maybe?
  10. The only 2 good things I see is no finger grooves and it's a 2-pin frame. I like Glock a bunch but when they made the Gen 5 I was concerned. The Gen 5 17 , 19 , and now 26 all have coiled springs for the slide lock and slide stop. The older leaf-spring style was working great since the 80's. I been carrying one since 95 and one at work since 97. They have never failed. I just don't understand why change something if it is working great the way it is. I do like the fact that Glock went back to the 2-pin style frames. less parts , less to go wrong. But this coiled spring is kinda messed up in my opinion. I am kinda anal and set in my ways but like I said before , why "fix" it if it aint broke ? I guess something to "bring in new customers and make it look new and exciting" . Ok , I'll stop my rant .

Anyone seen one of these yet? Not a huge fav of striker fired guns, but this looks interesting...
  12. Just thought I would share. The Outpost Armory in Murfreesboro is selling these Sig P320C’s brand new for $350. https://www.theoutpostarmory.com/sig-320c40b-p320-compact-dao-striker-40s-w-3-9.html

    M P 2.0 9C

Purchased a 2.0 9C this morning(469.00) at local gun store(Splty Arms, Laverne). Grandson was with me and we just came in from putting several rounds through it, in my back yard. Found the mag springs stiff, but loadable (15+1). The gun is easier for me to hit with than the Glocks. How many rounds should I run through it to determine if it is trustworthy? Also what ammo do you guys recommend? Been using DPX in EDC, but don't have any in 9 MM. Grandson (13) shot it well also. He has medium size hands, as do I. He has a 22lr which is a lot like this gun in design. I will say my initial thoughts are pleasing. I believe it will work for me.
  14. I got word in church yesterday that a pawn shop had an exquisite Ruger Blackhawk, 7 1/2" .45 Colt, Three Screw. I went to check on it this morning, and it is indeed a beauty! The gun looks as if it had never been fired. There are no handling marks to be seen, and NO CONVERSION PARTS! I examined the gun fairly closely. Asking price was $600 + Tennessee sales tax and background check, bringing the price to $655. I had to walk away. For $550 or $600 out the door, maybe, but $655 is firm price. Any collector interested, the shop is AA Pawn Shop on Austin Peay in Memphis. Bob Wright
  15. ... P238. Or Colt Mustang. Now, there's innovation.
  16. I signed up for the Sig voluntary recall upgrade. It could take months. I am so disappointed! I should have gotten a Glock, an XD or an M&P, but NOOOOO. I had to have a Sig. I wanted a striker fired double stack 9mm sub-compact with no manual safety. This Sig is not that nice of a pistol. It doesn't have night sites, or a loader, or any of the nice extras that Springfield includes. It's near impossible to get the 12th round in the magazine and they do not provide a pinky extension for the magazine. I've been carrying my J-frame model 36 and I'm really liking it.
  17. Just picked up a Bulgarian Special Edition Makarov. The 9x18 ammo I purchased does not fit. The slide does not fully close and the bullet does not fit in the front of the barrel. How can I check if this was converted to another caliper like a .380? I read that was a common conversion at one time. I purchased the gun from a lawyer doing an estate sale so he has no idea. Thanks
  18. Everyone wants their pistol to be a rifle??? Anyone seen these? They have Glock 1911, and XD models. http://mechtechsys.com
  19. Remington must not be doing so well if they're going for these prices. http://ffb55a3eb2924fcc401d-2044d7580b9ff0ba662d0e2b6fd65b46.r14.cf5.rackcdn.com/2017/2017-12-25/index.html?utm_medium=email&utm_source=email-2017-12-25-christmas-deals&utm_campaign=christmas-deals&utm_content=view-as-web-page&_bta_tid=08432015425476410911416005509090568391042800459507387882874946653255685644860849547914640817952628132457
  20. Picked up a XD .45 4 inch service model bi-tone with the 3 dot sights: came with 2 13+1 magazines, hard case with cable lock, and bore brush and a free 20 round box of PMC Gold Starfire .....OTD with tax, background check was $446. I have not had a chance to shoot her yet, pistol is very dry don't know if it had been in storage for awhile or not....I like the fact the Springfield went to the trouble of polishing the feed ramp.
  21. Just got my new duty gun today and its a Gen 5 G17. I heard that the frames weren't beveled to match the slide but mine is . Here's a picture. Did Glock start doing them ? Or was this "not beveling" only the G19 ?
  22. I usually run my self defense ammo through my guns when I go to the range, just to see if they would feed. Yesterday my 1911 had two failures in two magazine of high tech high dollar self JHP defense rounds. One round jammed in the top of the barrel. Another round failed to return to battery. I poked the first one with my finger (holding the slide) and the second I just pushed the slide forward. I then shot 200 rounds of WWB FMJs without a hitch. For 10 years that pistol has not failed to fire once, using all different kinds of ammo. What should I check? Magazines I use are Chuck Mcormick and Colt. I did not check the ammo. These high dollar rounds go in and out of all of my 45acp handguns. I have seen distorted casings and bullets before. Hmmmm? I had the range all to myself. It was great. I get a little nervous when the range is crowded. They don't have a Range Warden, they have cameras, which isn't the same. My shooting was terrible! I couldn't figure out what I was doing. Finally I figured it out while shooting my single action .357. By then I have 10 rounds left. I put six in a two inch circle and then 4, at 7 yards. That mo better.

    M P 2.0

Looking at a new MP 2.0 9C. Have a Glock 19, but the grip is a little too big for my hands. Just don't feel comfortable to me. The 2.0's grip is adjustable with 3 different size back grip inserts. Does anyone her have any experience with the 2.0"s?
