Great. One on the ground headed for us.

The tracks I saw showed it south of me (off of Bear Creek) in the Culleoka area then crossing i65.

Hope everything missed you!

Until just 45-60ish minutes ago it had been clear and dry all day on this side of town. First rain drops hit around 6:25.

If radar was correct, passed 1200 yards from us.聽

Ryan Hall, Y'all is a YouTube mainstay for a lot of weather junkies, too.

I ain鈥檛 sure we didn鈥檛 just have one go right over the house. It was a weird looking cloud roaring like a giant diesel engine. If so, I鈥檓 pleased to report it wasn鈥檛 on the ground.

Spent the weekend at the Atoka BBQ FEST. don鈥檛 think I鈥檝e ever been that wet.聽

Road closures and phone killed by falling in the water made the trip home take 3x longer. I finally had to use my HAM radio to figure out where I was, lol

Have been watching Max Velocity Weather on youtube since Weds night and learned so much about weather & tornadoes in a short period of time. What I really appreciated was his big picture approach. Anywhere a new tornado warning showed up (like Wisconsin & Michigan!) he showed it and discussed what drove the warning. And the places that were hot, spawning actual tornadoes, he was on them before a tornado formed and could tell you when the funnel cloud was on the ground based on debris signature in the radar. Wild.

Weds there were 29 tornado warnings at several points during the night and he was working overtime to keep up with them all. It was mind-blowing to me, and heartbreaking, to see all the places getting hit with actual tornadoes, like Lake City, AR, and Selmer, TN (both EF-3s).

Last night (Saturday) was our time to 'be on alert' as the storms from New Albany, MS, were working their way north & west spawning tornadoes along a path toward our home. God was good (to us) and pushed it east and Florence, AL, took the hit instead (so sorry Florence & Muscle Shoals peeps!)

The point being, Max Schuster (聽https://www.youtube.com/c/MaxVelocityWX/videos聽) at Maxvelocitywx was live streaming a constant barrage of info for hours each day (63 hours total over last eight days) to try and warn people & keep them safe. I knew when I should be worried & sheltering 'for real' vs. there is just a warning but conditions just aren't right for a tornado based on tons of weather data and variables he was monitoring.

Next time there is a 4 out of 5 or 5 out of 5 severe weather risk for your area (red or orange shaded area on the local weather map), check his youtube channel to see if he is live streaming. He was amazing and really informative. He would tie into weather cameras all over the place and used storm chaser live footage as well. We all literally saw the Lake City, AR, tornado form & touch the ground in real time on his feed. Then it quickly grew un size & intensity before our eyes. Fascinating & terrifying all at the same moment.

I am probably the only person that feels this way but all of this crazy weather fronts and storms floods etc etc didn't start until the Global Warming started really taking effect. Back when I was a kid we had normal Rain showers, normal snows and normal temps and now we have weather men and women that will post a screen of weather for 7 days and might hit 1 day in 7 correct.聽

Yes, everything seems to get dramatized in regards to weather now. I can't tell if that is to suck in viewers to boost ratings or perpetuate the "climate change" narrative. Maybe both. Or neither.

But I've been under more tornado watches & warnings here in west Tennessee in 5 years than I ever saw in 10 years living in "tornado alley" (central TX/OK border.) It really does feel like tornado alley has shifted eastward over time. Seriously has me looking at a tornado shelter for the house as if feels like a "when" scenario, not an "if" situation.

We had hail that ranged from pea sized up to grapes, maybe a few bigger ones here and there.聽 Also 2" of rain in that short time frame as well per our rain gauge.

We had hail the size of ping pong balls yesterday afternoon.

Holy Cow! I hope that didn't do any damage. We got a bit of hail, but it was just little ice-pellet stuff.
