Buying a gun online

Recommended Posts

Here is my gripe. Recently I have typed "I will take it" in response to two guns I have seen online. I rarely if ever do that. ON both occasions the seller, and rightly so, "demands" postal money order in hand prior to shipment. In both cases I was prompt (next day). IN both cases the sellers couldn't get their guns to the FFL within the same week. In one case the FFL forgot to ship for 3 days. I upheld my end but the other two were slackards, regardless of the excuses. My advice is if you are selling you need to have the same sense of urgency as you want the buyer to have.

Gray (...and others...)make an excellent point. I've bought several firearms via the internet; but i never would do business with an individual. Face to face is the best way for an "individual" sale.

Thanks for the heads up.

I only do FTF or use reputable proven on-line retailers. I’m not about to send several hundred dollars or a gun to someone I don’t know. The fact they have an FFL dosen’t mean they are’’t a crook.

I haven’t bought much used lately, most of the time I can order new for the same money or less. Places like Buds have made on-line ordering a pretty simple task.

I had a couple of transactions go that way via gunsamerica.com over a decade ago. Only bought a few guns here, 2 FTF and one shipped. No issues. This is the only place I come to now to find stuff. Anymore I just wait for something I'm in the market for pop up at a reasonable price from a trusted member.
