What brought about the 180 on handloads?

I'll have to hear it from the horse's mouth before I believe it. If it is in fact true I shall be forking out for a membership.

Please Keep us up to date on when this is going to start. My girlfriend is new to the sport but she will participate, and she shoots CDP.

Yea my wife started in CDP because she loves 1911's, but she hated getting battered and the cost of .45. So she got a 9mm 1911 and she's sold!

Um, I should stick to smaller words. We will be holding the match every other week. I'll start making the announcements on Facebook probably in mid-December.

I think the range will probably be keeping everyone updated about IDPA on their website. They've mentioned something about it, but nothing's in motion yet. It would help if those of you who aren't on Facebook would mention it individually to management. In the meantime, feel free to post questions here or send me a private message.

[/quote]While I do understand your aversion to Facebook, it costs nothing to join the network and you can be as anonymous as you want to be. I think the only "accurate" piece of information is that you need to use a working email address but those aren't very difficult to come by.

That said, I too am sure the info will be on NA's website or available other ways. :)

Robert is correct. It is easy to set up a fake facebook account. I have a couple of fake accounts I use to test Facebook integration with the apps we build. Just set you up a free gmail email account and create a fake facebook account.

David,

Will NA be sending in an application to IDPA HQ to become a club?

Guys, I talked to the manager at Nashville Armory tonight about reloads. Their policy remains that reloads are not allowed, due to insurance requirements.

On another note, they will be sending in their application to be an official IDPA club shortly.

Any chance the second Tuesday will be an Official IDPA style match and the fourth Tuesday will be non-discipline style match or an Outlaw match? Maybe throw in a little shotgun and or rimfire or pistol caliber rifle. I know it's too early to predict what the market will want just throwing out ideas....

We'll probably do a little of that eventually, but not at first and not every month. We're going to have a lot of beginners that will need the predictable, structured IDPA match for awhile. About the only non-standard IDPA thing I've done to date is blind stages. I do want to bring in shotgun and rifle in the future, though. It depends on what we're allowed to do. The range will most likely require slugs for the shotguns.

By the way, MC, the matches won't always be the second and fourth Tuesday. It will be every other week. I'm told our off-weeks will be used as a ladies night.

I think NOT allowing lubed up cast lead reloads is an excellent idea. Who wants to RO behind that lube and lead smoke cloud inside a building anyway. The last major match I worked that was using part of a cowboy town roof damn near gave me lead poison or something. I hacked and coughed for a week afterward. If you can't spare a couple extra bucks for some clean factory ammo or reload some nice plated bullets you probably don't need to come out anyway.....

i am not sure but i do not think it is a money thing, could be. i know at least one one the reloaders that poated use jacketed bullets. for some with the 1911-2011 i do think it is a matter of the gun setup or tuning. hammer and recoil springs for exsample set up to run X PF. were store bought on that set up would have heavy recoil with the slide hitting hard on the frame. just guessing
also hope all is well.

SOing a guy with lead bullets at an indoor match is no fun.
