CNN and Miley Cyrus; Modern Journalism Explained

While I was reading the news regarding her performance I was trying to figure out how to put this into words. Luckily, there are smarter folks out there to better articulate why we have stories of "twerking" shoved in our faces. The answer lies in the story.

All I can say about it is ya know what to expect anytime ya see her!

If ya don't like it then don't watch it.

If ya don't want the kids to see change the station.

She sure as hell makes more money than I do, that's for sure!!

She accomplished exactly what she was looking to do, have everybody talking about her today.

Hmmm, think you may have missed the point of the story and the post.

Geez what did people expect from her last night?

It is not my style but a lot of people like it and like what she does.

I gives a f**k what Billy Ray's kid does. Also, I have never once watched the VMAs or MTV awards shows. If I wanted to watch celebrities blow each other I'd go to mrskin.com.

The point of the article is a commentary on media. Between all the news websites (to include Drudge) I go to I saw no less than a dozen "top stories" regarding this. Normally I wouldn't care, but since there were so many "top stories" I thought whatever happened must have been newsworthy. My curiosity got the better of me after being so bombarded with headlines, and then I was exposed to brain herpes when I read the story. It caused me to wonder how this was top news with all the other crap going on. This topped stories regarding the impending military strike on Syria. I'm not kidding. Read this article; it sums up everything I wanted to say.

Pretty much confirms the commentary. Here is a story about the story about the story.

Thanks for that Chuck. Reminds me that the wife and I need to start working on our playlist for Halloween. Beetlejuice hasn't been done yet since we've been together, so that will be on the list this year.

Of course websites post stories that drive views of their pages.  Nothing new here, or newsworthy with that either.  Just happened to be Cyrus twerking this time..

And as you admit never watching these award shows how do you know what goes on?  I'd of liked to see celeb's blowing each other, must have missed that

I've never watched Honey Boo Boo, but I know what it is. Never seen a Karsashian show, but I know there's a bunch of them. I couldn't tell you what Lindsey Lohan is doing these days, but I know it's controversial. I've never eaten dog crap before, but I know it doesn't taste good. The reference to them blowing each other is my opinion of all awards shows. They exist so celebrities can pat each other on the back in an indulgent event which the Plebs love to talk about for weeks leading up and weeks following the event. Stupidity is an industry. First thing I thought of when I saw her with her tongue hanging out was one of those Chinese crested dogs that won the Worlds Ugliest Dog competition.

There is a lot of shallow in a deep sea. The news is the shallow part. I wonder what Billy Ray thinks of his daughter

after that command performance. Of course, if people are willing to pay for that stuff, they must be getting what they

want. None of that crap interests me. If I want to look at a pretty woman on TV, which I have stopped watching, it would

be from a L'Oreal or a Revlon commercial.

Yeh, the media throws all that crap in to get the ratings up. Kinda like Viagra for TV.

who cares?  she is a loser and is going no where.  when mtv first came on it was good.  now days it is not good.  been that way for many years.  it is now for the low information voter.

Like SNL it was run its course.

I was laughing today, thinking "well at least it wasn't right before Thanksgiving, the after dinner talk would probably be non-existent. I doubt any of her family would dare say, "So Miley, whatcha been up to?"

I didn't watch it, never want to, so I didn't know what the news was talking about the next morning. I made the mistake of searching for the clip on YouTube. Really wish I hadn't. It looked like she had a nervous twitch when she came out of the bear with her eye squinted and tongue hanging out.
