I have been wanting to buy a Marlin 336 in .35Rem. I reload everything I shoot anyways, but this is a caliber that seems like it almost requires reloading due to being scarce on the shelf.

I hadn't even heard of the round until a neighbor of my father in law's sold me a Marlin 336 for $100. It used to be somewhat easy to find since nobody really shoots. 35 rem. But now it's impossible to find. Stinks because it's a great hunting round.

Dang, what a deal.

Since you can't find ammo, you want to sell that rifle?

I really can't explain why I want one, have never owned a lever action but know the Marlin 336 is usually highly rated. And I would rather not have a 30-30.

Back to ammo, I would bet you are having a difficult time finding any because with the recent ammo shortage I know several companies quit producing some calibers that were not high sellers. Maybe some out of the way gun shop would have a couple of boxes still sitting around.

i all ways find it at wal mart.  the 35 rem is a great deer gun.  back in the 60 and 70 you either had a 35 rem and/or a 30-30.  the 35 rem was a little better in the woods and had a better knock down punch over the 30-30.  i have used both for many years.  ammo can be found except when it get close to deer season.

Haha, nah, I'll hang on to it a bit longer. It's a great shooting gun. Accurate and you don't have to worry about chasing a short deer with it. Awesome in thick brush too.

Here's what mine did to a tree one day...

Contacted Hornady about availability of the .35 Rem. They said they are in fact producing it, but in limited quantities. They suggested I go ahead and place a backorder so I can be assured to get some when it becomes available. The only place I could find online that allows ordering backordered items is Cabela's. I went ahead an put an order in for 4 boxes of Leverevolution 200 gr. It says that it typically ships 0-1 weeks and that Cabela's should get it by 11/25. It's a bit expensive, but it's tax free and free shipping for $49 and up if you use the promo code 4gifts (good thru 11/26). I'll update on if and when this comes in. Fingers crossed.

I am tempted to buy one of the CVA Scout single shots in .35 Rem from Buds.  This is a hard gun to find and they have them ready to ship.  However, as the rest of you have observed there is a shortage of ammo.  Bud's has Federal for $34.95 per 20, but I am going to pass on that.  the only brass I could find is machined 7.62X51 for a buck a piece.  I am going to pass on that one too.

This might be a good candidate for reaming to .358 Winchester for cast bullets.  I need to research the barrel twist on the CVA.

Has anyone seen any. 35 Rem lately? I can't find it anywhere, even online. Is reloading pretty much the only option now? I need some for a possible TX hog hunting trip this January.

Have a friend with a 336 35 Rem. Claims he has seen it stocked at Sportsman's Warehouse here in Chattanooga. Ever make it this way? If you do I can pick up a box and meet you if I see that it is in stock.

Ended up canceling my order with Cabela's. When I placed the order it said 0-1 week shipping, with Cabela's receiving it in on 11/25 (I ordered on 11/23). Received an email the other day pushing it out past February. I emailed them asking what the deal was and if they can't help me out to cancel my order. Emailed me back after a few days saying they had canceled and appreciated my business. I almost ordered some .223 Hog Hammer from them because of the free shipping, but had too bad of a taste in my mouth from this transaction. Needless to say, .35 is still impossible to find.

I am with robtattoo on this one. I drug my Contender out of the safe recently(it has been on break for @ 10 years) and I can't get all the components to reload the .357 Herrett barrel. Hornady's website says the 200 gr. rifle bullet I need is "temporarily suspended" and the tech guy says that their pistol bullet will never hold up at those velocities. I found some dies to reload with but I can't find H4227 locally so I am dead in the water with this Herrett round. Bad timing on my part, I suppose.

I've got a pair, and I've never had to chase one thats been shot with one.

Good luck in your search.

Pioneer Outdoors in Bolivar Tn. may have some. Haven't been over there in a couple mons. but they usually have it.
