Got to participate in those in 79 and 82, the Korean's didn't have too many Aircraft then . But I have great respect for the ROK soldier's when they play it's no game, all serious.

Some, not all.  We were required to clean up the berms after gunnery with the tanks.  Anything left on the trails while moving & shooting was not cleaned up.

 

I think in Germany people would come in after we left and go pick up a lot of that stuff, the only rule was they had to turn in any live ammo.

I would imagine this is money WELL spent. Not just for the training it provides but don't you you think North Korea watched this too on some level.
I doubt there was any loss of life in this exercise and if it gives North Korea even a little pause, it was worth it. Nothing would make fools like the North Korean government back all the way down short of actually whippin their ass but, live another day.
