Mad Max Fury Road

I finally got around to getting this movie from the redbox. I am about to watch it. I hope I am not disappointed, but I will know in about two hours and four beers.

It was alright, but the movie is more about Charlize Theron's character than Max. Max is just sorta there. Nothing he does has any impact on the plot of the movie. I liked Thunderdome better.

I always liked the original Road Warrior(Mad Max 2). Did you notice that Mad Max Fury Road had portrayals all the characters in all the Mad Max movies?

I'll admit that the movie was quite indulgent, but that's the way it's supposed to be. How do you one up the previous movie which had Tina Turner and Master Blaster? F'ing flaming metal guitars, that's how.

This movie is exactly what I hoped: ridiculously extravagant special effects and crazy vehicles and even a guitar player swinging off the front of Bigfoot on steroids with a guitar that shoots flames. Very little talking or plot, just action and fighting and explosions.

And yes, I am a lightweight.

I totally loved this movie. Best recent car chase and lots of gear head stuff.

They worship the V8 for heavens sake! Whats not to love there?

I rank it above Thunderdome, but below Road Warrior and Mad Max.

 

Although I have to admit that Thunderdome had some of the best lines of the series.

Was it an epic? No. I did like it though. It was what it needed to be a good Mad Max movie. It had a lot of great lines, "I am the scales of justice!", the ever classic "You shall cruise the highways eternal, shiny and chrome"  and who could forget "You can ask for more than a jacket bloodbag.". Also who would not want to live on a bullet farm?

I don't completely agree, or disagree. I thought it was a good film, and fun. But I don't think it is picture if the year material.
