They aint cheap but I love my sordin pro-x neckband muffs. Hearing protection is one of those things that I feel if you skimp out on could cost you permanent damage in the long run. have also had decent luck doubling up with howard leight impact sports with foam plugs underneath.

for-sale Atlas Gunworks Erebus v2 compensated 2011 pistol (used)

i agree also. i quit doing anything on armslist because i had several VERY questionable individuals try to purchase guns from me. i was glad i was in a public place during the day and was glad they didn't get confrontational when i refused to sell to them. i think this is the best place to buy and trade guns but we have to be vigilant that the sketchy folks don't try to mess it up. -
As you noted on a previous response, the 1911 can only drop fire if its dropped in a very specific way. They can only inertia fire if dropped directly on the muzzle, in these cases, the steel firing pin can have enough momentum to overcome the spring tension holding the firing pin in place, but that can't happen if dropped in any other way, just based on simple physics. And the reality of you dropping your gun in that specific of a manner means that, while it would be an AD, your gun is pointed in a safe direction (the ground) and that could really only happen of you dropped it while holstering. While unlikely, as you note, there are several ways to mitigate it. A heavier firing pin spring is one, but that can compromise ignition reliability, so you would want to pair that with an increases power main spring (which in turn would help reduce recoil). However, if you don't want to "tune" your 1911, a titanium firing pin solves the problem and has virtually no effect on the reliability. It is a drop in part for like $20-30.

i didn't mean to ruffle your feathers. i stand by my statement though. too many "sketchy" and/or out of state people on here trying to buy stuff. i try to do my part and report these type of posts as i see them. i totally get that you can't monitor everything and hope others are trying to help "self police" the classifieds. ***my apologies to the OP for this turning into a lot more than a for sale ad. beautiful gun and free bump. *** -
Not a lot of people know that the OG Commanders were designed with aluminum frames and designed for the 9mm (with the al frame later being dubbed the Lightweight Commander and the steel frame being the Combat Commander). 1911 purists preach .45 ACP or nothing at all, but the Commander in 9mm (1949 for the gov't contract) and .38 Super (1950 for the civilian market) is older than most of us on this forum are. A lot also don't know that the 9mm is in fact 3 years older than the .45 ACP.

As sad as it is to see these troubled people try to get famous thru the commission of murders, happy no innocent lives lost. The media (and our govt) need to prevent these people’s identities being published and ensure there is no incentive to commit murders in hope of becoming notorious. Granted it’s more of a factor for the 16 to 20 year old, but common to most. Maybe a question as to what constitutes MSM for some. I did see this go by yesterday on my news aggregators that extrapolates a summary across several sites, giving links to each source. It was on the majors I consider part of MSM, including non-friendly lefties, such as AP and NBC

Man, another free bump to the seller. I saw GOC and thought "Oh! Another way to spend money, better go look that up." But one of the first things I found was the Gay Outdoor Club. I'm sure they're great folks, but probably not gun people. -

I had these for my 9mm, they work just fine. Clearly, the AR15 is a LOT louder, especially inside. I've only shot it twice, and while I like the gun, it is way too loud. Today I added these under the above, they didn't help. I know a suppressor would help, but that's adding a lot of money. Plus, I tried one gun at my range that was suppressed, and it blew back a lot of gas in my face, I hated it. They said it was partly related to the suppressor and partly the gun. I plan to shoot it outside in a few weeks. Are there better hearing protection options? Thanks

A case could be made that 9mm is the only "right" chambering for the 1911 Commander as that is what it was developed with and when the military didn't buy it that is what it was offered to the public in 1950. In it's first year of commercial/public production the aluminum frame 1911 Commander that was developed for the 9mm was also offered in .38 Super and .45 ACP. So if we go to the history of the aluminum framed 1911 Commander we see that the original prototypes and first offerings to the military were in 9mm. Cheers James

In 2022 I had been with my music distribution company for 22 years. I was the digital distribution manager and controlled a catalog of around 30,000 individual songs across over 2500 albums by around 500 artists that generated 8 figures in revenue yearly. I loved working in the music industry and the perks that came along with it but I needed a fiscal change. I left in 2022 to become a police dispatcher. Luckily, I didn't need to go back to school or anything. All of the training is OtJ. I've been there three and a half years now and am really trying my best to learn every aspect of the job. Ive already been made a trainer and work with a couple of specialized units within the bureau.
