I believe it’s the confluence of several compounding factors. 1. it’s a really a DA design, retrofitted to become a striker gun, 2. the engagement surfaces between the sear and the striker block are minuscule (1/3) in comparison to other striker guns 3. Known trigger return spring issues prevent complete trigger reset, reducing striker block engagement even further; enough that vibration or impact can cause it to release 4. the lack of a trigger safety like other striker gun makes it more prone to a true Accidental Discharge, by not creating a physical barrier to incidental trigger motion 5. I think the drop safe failure and this issue have the same root cause, but I also think the previous known and supposedly “corrected” issue has predisposed us to look for them. 6. the pre-cocked striker design in general basically to me it’s similar to carrying a bullseye style single action gun with all safeties removed which, interestingly enough, did you know that the US Cavalry lost more troopers to NDs with their single action army revolvers than all the Indian wars combined?

I’m a big fan of the Ruger LC9S, an upgrade to the EC9. I think it’s was one of the best single stack 9s on the market!

I can’t remember the numbers that I heard one time - but they were fine. They viewed it as “our part of being a good member of the community” but wound up making money anyway because of all the families and such that wound up coming in.

Need to replace CZ P10c Striker before issues occur?
BigK replied to TNPhil's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
This has been a common complaint for years. I'd like to think they either reworked the firing pin channel geometry or switched to better steel than the injection molded striker they were using. Either way, I've heard tale of some calling CZ to get a replacement before theirs actually broke, so they'd have one when it happens. I'm not sure if that works or if they ask for a pic of the broken part. Either way, most people admit this comes with excessive dry-firing w/out snap caps or an O-ring. I think a gun should be able to tolerate dry-firing w/out harming the weapon, but if it's a known issue that might be a way to avoid it. I'd still buy the tool hardened CGW striker if it were me, just to be safe. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you the best of luck. I really hate when my favorite brand of gun has known issues and doesn't fix it right. -

I forwarded the info to my buddy but haven't heard back from him yet -
When I was in HS, our FFA livestock judging team used to hit the Mr. Gatti's buffet on the way back from field trips. I know that mgr hated seeing 7 or 8 big ol teenage boys coming. One of our guys, once put down 22 slices if pizza (crust and all) on a bet.

Very tempting! Awesome gun. GLWS.

There can be several instances where negligence isn’t the best description. Hang fire, firing pin issues, slam fire, but they are exceptions. Most unexpected fire is more properly deemed negligent. The 320 issue still escapes explanation.
-
I get it, Rob. And, if the discharge is due to a manufacturer making the gun incorrectly, arguably the correct word is still "negligent" - just in reference to the company, not the owner. But that name is already taken...
