  1. I've always heard of the Roger's Shooting School...on my bucket list. Even moreso since I got a taste of it at Ronnie Dodd's range in Sale Creek. Ronnie has a lot of shooting/training experience, 15 yrs of it at the Roger's school. Coupled with Randy's instruction this is quite an experience. Wish I had access to it everyday. A unique training oppurtunity with which concepts can't help to make one a better shooter. You don't know what you don't know has no better example than this. You owe it to yourself to experience this at least once.
  2. " if going to a gun fight..." I just wouldn't go.
  3. My father-in-law has a large Ferris and he loves it. I had a smaller one, but still too big for my yard, but certainly a comfortable quality mower. Wouldn't hesitate to buy one.
  4. Jamie, time to switch over to wet tumble and pins....no dust. Buy once and done.
  5. I have a couple of their belts.....very nice.
  6. Because of numbers. More people will carry more frequently. I would also bet the majority are unaware of permitless carry in autos.
  7. After July 1 he will have company
  8. OK, I admit I am a training junky......primarily handgun stuff. I also admit I am a fan of Randys. I have never taken a shotgun course, considering I have shot 10's of thousands of shotgun shells I have never taken a formal combative shotgun class. I re-learned you don't know what you don't know. I learned that the shotgun as a defensive weapon is devestatingly final in most instances. It also has its limitations in range and application. Combination of types/ brands of 00 buck and shotgun have different performance results. Change one and you may have significant change in results. You should know that before you load up before just assuming what your results will be. Randy's course is an eye opener in that regard. Also it double checks your equipment. Sights, speed, accurracy , reliability are all important factors that pop up in a formal training setting. Face it, most of us won't do that on our own and under the direction of a competent instructor can be eye opening. Whether handgun, rifle , or shotgun, Randy is a great local resource that can help test you and your equipment revealing the and disadvantages before the fecal material hits the revolving blades.
  9. Physics...6-8 lb rifle with a 3-4 lb trigger pull, vs. a 2lb gun with a 6lb trigger pull causes inherit difficulties.
  10. You can be charged for aggravated assault by simply displaying a holstered weapon. The modification of ones behavior by insinuating you have a weapon is the basis for the charge.
  11. CDC says almost 40,000 firearm deaths in 2018
  12. unless establishment is posted....
  13. Not my 1st choice, but I have no comfort problems with my S&W compact in .22. In fact I highly recommend it to new shooters until they make the choice to go bigger.
  14. whirlpool is mostly American made. LG made Kenmore as well. Nice upper end refrigerator went bad after 4 yrs. Talked to a repairman.....said LG made good TVs. Not so on other appliances. Steered me to the Whirlpool.
  15. you are always the first responder.....
  16. KFC has the best chicken sandwich.
  17. THIS ^^ Unless you can change hearts Unless you can change the 'snitch' mind-set Unless you can change the drug/gang alure We will continue to morph into a Chicago/Memphis/Nashville situation
  18. All original HCP were 'renamed' ECP. Those two interchangable terms are the only lifetime permits issued.
  19. You got the parks and greenways. Employees that carry at schools have to have an ECP. I will assume National Forest and Parks, but like you, haven't seen it in writing. Would anticipate businesses having 'carry by permit only' signs as some do now.
  20. very common practice with trap shooters......if done, always with the action locked back, or a break action gun open. Both done with an unloaded gun.
  21. your mix would be a good late season dove load, or early pheasant load.
  22. Off the top of my head, No Reciprocity with other states. If an employee of a state public university, have to have the ECP. Would expect private schools to continue to require ECP policies. There may be some issue with 'guns in trunk' law, will have to see how that shakes out. I have heard that Const. Carry may not be allowed in National Parks. Lot to learn and differentiate by July 1.
  23. Having taken several legal seminars as well as subscribing to Branca, there has always been a designation between force and deadly force. Would not trust the language in this bill as it is written to include deadly force unless specified.
  24. I've shot enough to wear out a Rem 1100 and a Benelli SBE, as well having to replace a locking bolt on a Browning O/U. The pumps mentioned are good guns and will last a long time. For my money I would go with the Benelli SBE II. It will be versatile and with a 26" barrel be suitable for all the clays games as well as birds, to include turkeys.
  25. worriedman brought up HB0025 in the Const. Carry discussion. I have read the summary to that bill. It is my understanding that this only covers "force", which is different than "deadly force" and therefore has little bearing on the situation if one uses a firearm in self-defense. If that is the case, an Amendment would be in order to include "deadly force".
