Senator Alexander voted with President Obama 62% of the time

It is time for Alexander to go! -
I picked up 100 rounds of Winchester .40 at Walmart on Thursday evening. Clerk said that it had sat in the case since the previous evening. They also had Federal 9mm SD loads, about 3 boxes of them, which I had seen in stock a couple of weeks ago as well. A friend came across a bulk pack of 9s and 40s at his Walmart yesterday. Then this morning I got an email from Cabela's informing me that the 1000 rounds of .22 that I ordered about 2 months ago was in stock and had already been shipped. Looks like things are finally coming around. The .40 that I bought the other day was the first ammo I had purchased since December as I have refused to pay more than retail.

Got my notice this morning, they should be here tomorrow. I feel like Ralphie on Christmas Eve!

Am I the only one that's life has not changed, nor have I missed Twinkies one bit since they stopped making them? For those of you who have missed them I'm glad you are getting them back!

I kept my Ruger Standard in a bank box for a while as it is an heirloom with great sentimental value to me. Not sure the size of the box.

Good Ruger MkII / MkIII Reassembly Video
10-Ring replied to StPatrick's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I think all Ruger Mark owners have been down this road. I have a Ruger Standard, same deal. It doesn't run right when it is dirty so I keep it pretty clean. I've reassembled it successfully numerous times but usually have to look to Youtube because I forget how to do it. -
That would be great as a fire starter. I found a way that I will do it for now on when I am car camping. Last time I was camping I built a small fire with charcoal to cook some brats on. After I was done eating I started placing small sticks on top of the charcoal. This was Memorial Day weekend and it had been raining all week. I had a really nice fire that night that would have been very difficult to start using conventional methods.

It's obvious that these journalists don't know what they are talking about but did it ever cross their mind that they would be much more credible and not look like such idiots if they would just report what they knew if they don't know the specifics? I'd rather hear them say "A glock handgun" than a 44mm Glock." If I hear "Glock handgun" I have no reason to find that suspect other than it came from the media, but when I hear "44mm Glock handgun" I know they are full of it.

I saw one at the Maryville Walmart the other day. Made me feel warm and fuzzy!

Archery, Crossbow, and Air Rifles at TN Schools/Colleges
10-Ring replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
It's almost certain that there is a school policy against it. Although you may not be arrested you could very well be expelled. College tuition isn't cheap, and they don't give refunds when you are expelled. Don't take the chance. -
Extreme Danger: Brady Liberal With A Gun
10-Ring replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Why would someone take a decision as serious as carrying a firearm so lightly? Did she drop out of school because she turned 18 because that was all that was required? Does she only consume 2000 calories per day because that is all her body requires? Does she live in a hut with no electricity or running water because she is a bare minimalist? I'm working with a lady in her 50's now who just got her first carry gun, she hasn't gotten to shoot it yet since she can't find any ammo but she will not carry it until I have worked with her and she feels confident about it. To take something this serious so lightly is absurd. I hope to God she didn't buy any bullets for the gun. -
Road rage participant proudly defends his honor

This is why we need to bring back the duel. If the two gentlemen would have faced off and had a duel the world would have at least one less idiot to deal with this morning. -
I don't normally give my attention to those that have shot up a gas station in order to get themselves a little cash and I'm not making an exception for a piece of white trash who calls himself Dogg, or Dog, or Dawg, or whatever. He's as hypocritical as they come. Always despised how he would be dropping F bombs left and right one minute and telling them to find God the next. Gotta lead by example brah.

Anyone up for a solid week of camping?
10-Ring replied to Spots's topic in Survival and Preparedness
I could probably do a week in November, December would be even better. I work seasonally and October is a big month, November is pretty slow though. If this materializes please PM me and let me know as I forget to check this subforum on a regular basis. Oh and I will be just fine without the phone, my wife gets onto me for leaving home without it all of the time. -
Though zero turns are pretty safe on hills a walk behind, which is what we were discussing is likely the safest because all you have to do is step off and let it go if you get in trouble.
-
If I were in your shoes I would be looking for a used commercial walk behind in 48" or 54" with a Velke(That's what you ride on.) Used to run 2 54"ers when I had my lawn care business. They are every bit as fast to mow with and turn as a zero turn, plus you don't get swamp butt sitting in that seat. You can pick up a decent servicable used one for about $1500.

Anybody drive (or ride) the Dragon for fun?
10-Ring replied to GoneBallistic's topic in General Chat
I travel the road every single day. Sometimes by bike, sometimes by car. Please, if you go, 1) Stay in your lane, 2) Use the pull offs, if someone is behind you and they were not a minute ago that means they are faster than you, using one of the 108 (really there are 108 of them) paved pull offs is the courteous thing to do. 3) Ride your own ride at a pace you are comfortable with, if your adrenaline is flowing you are pushing yourself and endangering everyone else on the road.- 31 replies

:( I'm having bad thoughts (about selling something) LOCKED
10-Ring replied to GlockSpock's topic in General Chat
I sold a gun once and regretted it, now I only add to my collection, may not bring in guns as often as I like but I'm not giving any up either. -
Lived there for a while, not much to do right there. I spent a lot of time fishing for trout below Norris Dam just up the road in Norris. I always really enjoyed Big Ed's and that was the first thing I thought of to do in OR. Lots of beautiful scenery to be seen just out of town. Usually did my drinking at the Applebee's, I think it burned or closed after I moved though.

I spend a lot of time in Savannah and have never had any issues. I have always carried concealed, as I do anytime I'm in public, especially out of state. The area seems to be pretty carry friendly, I don't even recall seeing many gun buster signs in the area. With so many great bars in Savannah and their lack of an open container law in the historic district I often leave my gun locked up and enjoy walking the streets with a good beer.

Miss World: Bikini ban because of Muslim sensitivity - no joke
10-Ring replied to Sam1's topic in General Chat
The source of this article is examiner.com, which anyone can write anything they want on. This website is as reliable as anything that Eric Holder says, at the very least. I really hope this is the case in this instance. -
Calling all bikers!!! What do you have/had?!
10-Ring replied to whitewolf001's topic in General Chat
I'm sorry but I'm going to have to disagree with this statement. As someone who has taught countless people to ride I can attest that it is much easier to learn motorcycle fundamentals on a bike that is light weight and doesn't have mountains of power. I know that you ride a Goldwing, which I think is a fine ride but I would never tell someone that a Goldwing makes a great first bike. If I'm teaching someone that has zero motorcycle experience I start them out on a CRF88 which has an automatic clutch, I then move them to one that has a manual clutch and then onto a KLX250. For a first bike I recommend something that doesn't have body work, as it is expensive to replace when damaged, and you ARE going to drop that first bike, something that doesn't have a crazy amount of power and something that is light weight. I had a 2006 GSXR1000 it was a very fun bike but there is no way that I would tell a person that they should get it as a first bike because that is the bike they want, with 180+HP weighing in at 440 pounds, that's just a death trap in the wrong hands. By the way, I'm always willing to work with and teach anyone who wants to ride free of charge, I'll even provide the bikes. -

Rapist, murderer, okay maybe depending on the situation. Shoplifter? Nope, not me, I'll let that stuff walk. My $0.50 bullet isn't worth Belk's $500 worth of clothing. And it sure as hell isn't worth an innocent bystanders life if things go bad.
