  1. I'm a big fan of satire and that was a well written piece. Always funny to see how many people immediately believe anything that they read on the internet.
  2. Not yet :-\
  3. Maryville had plenty of everything but 9mm this morning but the prices were not great.
  4. Sounds like you have gotten good advice on the gun, let me share a little bit of advice on the tennis elbow.  I suffered from tennis elbow for about 2 years.  First in the left elbow and then in the right as well.  I toughed it out until it was affecting my quality of life and I finally broke down and went to an orthopedist.  To show how bad it was I refuse to go to a doctor for something like that unless I just can't stand it anymore.  The orthopedist had suffered from tennis elbow as well, he had gotten into some poison ivy and took a Z-pack which not only cured his poison ivy but his tennis elbow as well, he recommended that I try the Z-pack as the first and easiest and least invasive form of treatment.  I could tell a huge difference within 2 days and was 90% better within 5 days.  I have not been bothered with tennis elbow for about a year now.  Really wish I had gone to the doctor sooner.
  5. I don't always open carry but when I do I always use my Uncle Mike's nylon tactical holster and a clip my "concealed carry permit holder" badge to my belt.  Most people just assume I'm a cop.
  6. Just lawyer banter.  Of course they are going to exaggerate and embellish everything they can to make their point.  Doesn't mean that it holds any water.  Really though the fact that he carried a gun over there in the first place would be enough evidence of probable cause for a prosecutor to argue that he was going to shoot someone.   Which brings up an interesting (to me) point...  When does one become a bad guy?  A gang banger who has been involved in numerous shootings is obviously a bad guy.  But I personally know (I said know, not that they are my friends) people with HCPs that do drugs with their kids in the car while driving down the road and have been known to brandish their guns at people in traffic.  HCP holders they may be but model citizens they are not.  I'm sure there are felons out there that have straightened up and would be responsible enough to carry a gun, while I'm also sure that there are numerous people out there with HCPs that only have them because they haven't been caught and convicted of anything yet.  A lot of uncertainty there, which is all the more reason to carry.
  7. When I'm on the road everyone going slower than me is a freaking moron and everyone going faster than me is a damned idiot.  But everyone knows that here in Tennessee if you are planning on making a left hand turn then you should stay in the far right lane until the very last minute and then just shoot across how ever man lanes necessary to get to where you are going and visa versa.
  8. Welcome back!  TGO is the only real source of online interaction that I participate in.  I gave up Facebook about 4 months ago with no plans of going back.  Nothing against Facebook I just wasted too much time there.
  9.   I'd say Jerry Miculek but I don't think that you were looking to get shot 6 times  I really don't know if the guy is capable of just pulling the trigger once.
  10. I didn't think it was that bad once it was over, I'd still rather get tazed than sprayed.
  11. I think the Judge in this case understands...
  12. Hermitage Walmart has plenty as well, some at very good prices.
  13. I always thought that it was overly prudent when people scribble over serial numbers when they post pics.  Even though, I make it a practice of not posting serial numbers.  What you have presented is a very good reason not to so I for one will certainly not be posting any in the future.    Working as a photographer both professionally and as a hobby I generally don't mind sharing my images as long as I get credit for them.  Not giving the owner credit is akin to coming over to my house when I'm not there, making yourself a sandwich and leaving me a mess to clean up.
  14. The MJ Ace seems to be one of the better places for customer service as well. I've had good luck in there. Not that the customer service is any better but did you check TSC for the tube? I went in there a few weeks ago planning on buying some Ariat boots, the cashier watched me wandering around the shoe department and never said anything until I left and she cheerfully told me to have a good day. I went home and got then off of Amazon for a really good price. Is it still considered shopping local when the Amazon distribution center is 20 minutes from your house?
  15. That's a cool hunt! I had a lone hen running around the field when I first pulled up, only turkey I saw but it was good to get out.
  16. I'm headed out for an evening hunt here shortly.
  17. I'm not saying that it's okay for cops to beat the hell out of people but sometimes I can certainly understand why they want to.
  18. Not what I'd choose as a shooter but I'd throw one in the truck or boat or whatever and be confident that I had a reliable gun if I needed it.  If I had $300, no guns, and lived in a crappy neighborhood, I'd have me a Hi Point and $100 worth of ammo.  Ain't nothing at all wrong with them, I wouldn't trade one of my Glocks for one but if I had one I wouldn't get rid of it either.
  19. I hate that there is no way to prove my prediction but some lib somewhere in my estimation will cause something to happen during this event such as a negligent discharges because the thought of 70,000 gun nuts gathering without something happening is a thought that they can't stand.
  20. I thought that it may have been Benton's.  I failed to see their name on the price tag.  I swore never to go there again after I found several bricks of Thunderbolt at $70 a piece this past summer.  I had selected a nice (and expensive) leather holster for my wife that I put back before I left after seeing their price on .22.
  21. I'd gladly pay $10 to get to not have to go to Detoliet and drink JD instead in Stroh's.

  23. Off the top of my head I would suggest the area around exit 268 on I-40 (Hwy 96.) You will be right close to the Caney Fork River and Center Hill lake which well give you good fishing for about any species Tn had to offer. I think about three counties come together there, if you want to deer hunt you want to be in Unit L, I believe one or two of those counties are in L, there are tons of deer in the area. A bear sighting there wouldn't be unheard of but there are no bear hunting opportunities in that part of the state. You will be about an hour and 15 minutes to Nashville and 2 hours or so to Knoxville. Closest Wal-Mart is Carthage I believe which is about ten miles. This area has some of the cheapest land I've seen in the state. Feel free to pm me with specific questions, I've lived, fished, and hunted all over this state.
  24. Please share where that is so I will never go there and give them any money.
  25. Frankly I'm surprised they didn't end the article with a mention of the coming NRA convention.
