Guys be very careful calling this number from a business phone. That's how I lost my mall security job.

Your price range opens up a lot of options in the shotgun world. One not to be passed up is a Remington 870. Shot guns are a lot of fun to shoot recreationaly and they are hard to beat for a home defense weapon. To make it even more versatile you can pick up a 18" barrel for well under $100 an have a really nice HD gun or scatter gun. Also you can shoot, birdshot, which is cheap, buckshot, or slugs. you can have a lot of fun playing around with buckshot and slugs. If you decide to go the rifle route really look into that Hi Point Carbine again, I'd suggest in 9mm because that is the caliber that will have the cheapest ammo. Not saying that is what you should buy, you decide that. But it seems like it would fit your needs well. I know Hi Point gets a bad name but I have yet to talk to anyone that had one that didn't like it for what it was, let's face it a cheap gun that has issues is just a piece of junk, while a high dollar gun that has issues "just needs a little tweaking" or so they say anyways. Good luck in your search.

So do you want a cheap rifle or not?

Anyone else have any issues with an American? I am really thinking about picking one up in 243 stainless for deer season this year. I love my old .270 but I think a stainless light weight bolt gun would be a better work horse for what I demand out of a deer rifle. I bring this up because besides the OPs issue my dad bought an American in .308, I was sitting beside him when he fired on a deer this past season and the gun did not go off. Could have been a fluke, could have been an ammo problem and not a gun problem. I like the way the American handles but I don't want to buy a problem.

If you think that piece of crap is going to protect you from harm you dad gum better be right.

Ive purchased half a dozen or so sets from them. Prices are hard to beat. Customer service will not be beat. Those guys rock!

My response to that would be "I have one I really need to get rid of, I'd take 2k just to make a deal and be done with it." Or "Oh I'm not a felon, what's your non felon price on that?"

How in the heck do you keep up with a pen for four years? I'd have to tie a string to it or it would be lost in 4 minutes.

I refuse to buy from resellers at anything over retail. I don't need to shoot a .22 that much. Don't sell .22 at gouger prices, it's for the children.

I'm somewhat of a fair weather rider. As long ass I'm comfortable I'll go. Good gear is worth it's weight in gold. A couple of January's ago I left out of Knoxville after taking an hour to chip ice off of my bike, and another 20mins to navigate the 50 feet to the road and type to Savannah, Ga, it was 27 when I left and several cars were of the road on I40. It was miserable until I got south of Atlanta, but it was on the high 60s in Savannah.

That's awesome, we need more people doing that. I wouldn't feel bad about buying more than I needed if I found it and passing it along to TGOers and other good folks for what I gave for it.

Ain't nothing wrong with that. These guys that buy every last box on the shelf and sell them for three times what they paid for them need a swift kick in the nuts though.

I have a buddy in Raleigh, NC that reports the same thing.

A lot of places won't take a HCP as ID, anyone have any idea why? Personally I just use my DL for ID, I have no reason to let the store clerk and everyone around me know that I have a HCP. Of course at a place like Bud's it's probably a given but I just don't make it a practice.

I've been known to shoot cheap crappy ammo in some of my own guns, it cleans up. I think their concern has more to do with bad reloads. Can't blame them, I wouldn't want Bubba running his homemade loads through my gun.

Cool, thanks!

I'm missing something here, where do I get the discount coupon?

Sorry I'll never feel sorry for anyone who has to endure the weather to fish. Not after I've endured the weather to do manual labor so that I can be a productive member of society, which pales in comparison to elements that our soldiers have endured so that we can have all that we do.

I did that for a long time and it worked great for me. I paid about $85 a year. If it meets your needs they are great. I've become spoiled and like to carry around a computer (smart phone) in my pocket now.
-
Well that's good to know. Can I still use your referral code and get you a credit?

About as much as the local bar is rehab for an alcoholic.

I'm about to switch to Ting. I just found out this week that they are now supporting GSM phones. Got the invite, I just need to order my SIM card.

I'd go with this one http://www.amazon.com/Channel-Surveillance-Security-Waterproof-included/dp/B008UD0EUK/ref=sr_1_11?s=security-surveillance&ie=UTF8&qid=1424381551&sr=1-11&keywords=home+video+surveillance+system You will save a little money even after you purchase a HDD to put in it plus you won't be giving money to those dirty liberal no guns allowed posting hippies over there at the Costco.

We need another photo thread. We had one but it hasn't been posted in since 2012 and I hate to revive it because it is 7 pages long and probably half of the pictures in it are no longer on their hosting sites.
