  1. So the Wally World employees DO have a line on .22!
  2. You can shoot 30 eyes out with that thing without reloading!

Shameless plug.  I have my old camera posted in the TGO classifieds.  It's more camera than most need, but I'm willing to wheel and deal on it. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/73748-canon-1d-mark-iii/

I do a good bit of low light photography. Of course a tripod is essential to taking longer exposure pictures, but also use a timed shutter release as well. Most cameras have one built in. Unless it is really dark I usually just use a 2 second delay, but I'm using a very stable tripod. Otherwise I will use a 10 second delay. The purpose of doing this is to eliminate shake will pressing the shutter button.
  5. This is second hand information so I can not guarantee its accuracy, but the person that it comes from I consider dependable.  A salaried manager of the Madisonville, TN Walmart was selling most if not all ammo under the table to a local gun shop before it ever hit the shelves.  The prices on the ammo at the LGS that was getting all of the Walmart ammo was not even close to fair (I think around $10 for a box of 50 .22s)  Supposedly the GM was exposed and this is no longer a problem.  Still haven't seen any .22 over there though.  Actually everywhere I've talked to claims they are not even getting any .22 currently.
  6. I just wanted to caution you in case you were possibly considering satellite.  Don't do it.  Satellite is a last resort.  They know they have you by the short and curlies when you sign up.  Service is horrible as is the customer service.  I had it for a while as it was my only option.  It was better than nothing but I'd get dial up (which was not an option where I was) before I would do satellite again.
  7. Look at the bright side guys, pretty soon it will be as economical to shoot .45 as it is .22.  Sometimes thinking like a liberal makes you feel better even if nothing is really achieved.  kinda like peeing on yourself.
  8. 1)  12G pump with 28" smooth bore barrel, 18" barrel, and a slug barrel. 2)  Good .22 rifle 2)  Large bolt rifle, .270 for me. 3)  Woods gun, 30-30 for me. 4)  .22 pistol or revolver 5)  High capacity semi auto hand gun.  6)  Small handgun for concealment. 7)  1911 8)  Battle rifle of choice 9)  Ma Deuce so I'll get invited to all of the TGO shoots. 10) 91/30 because you can't really call yourself a gun owner if you don't have one.
  9. In my experience Comcast is quick to set up a new account, after our move this year we had service within 2 days of calling them and letting them know we were moving.  Then a couple of months ago I accidentally ran an auger through the cable, it took them 5 days to fix that, I was not happy.
  10. They all look like AR47s and Glocks to me :hiding:
  11.   Dave, I thought of you ad your home made boar bacon while I making it and was thinking that was the only thing that could make it better.  Almost sacrilegious for me to mix good deer meat with store bought commercial garbage.  Once you figure out how to weave it it's not that complicated, took me about 10 minutes from start to finish to figure it out.
  12. I just can't justify spending that much on an impulse purchase.
  13. Took my first shot at a bacon weave tonight and it came out great! Took some pics and thought that I would share.
  14. I once shot some backyard trap with a SxS, I was able to consistently hit doubles with it.  Don't know how it would do in real competition but it was a lot of fun just playing around.
  15. I see a lot of homophobia on TGO but you got to look at it like this:  The more diverse the gun community is the better off we are as a whole.  Who would you rather shoot next to at the range a safe homosexual with good gun handling skills or straight Bubba that's sweeping you constantly?
  16. If it were mine and I wanted to do what you are doing on the cheap...   I would keep my eye's open at Pull-A-Part.  Most of the time if you can find what you are looking for there it will already be junked, but every now and then you get lucky.  If you get lucky you will get a good used front and rear axle for about $200 out the door.  At the same time I would be looking for a good used 350-454, you will be able to find plenty of them laying around the junkyard, pick one up and either freshen it up and put it in the truck or stick it on a stand and do a complete tear down and rebuild on it as time and money allow.
  17. It sounds like the suspect forfietd any claim he had to self defense when he exited his home to shoot an unarmed man that was not on his property and not making any threatening gestures.
  18. Great example of epic trolling!
  19. "LOL" is the one that gets me.  Those have to be the 3 most over used letters ever.  And while I could see that the term "lol" has its place I see it used inappropriately more often than not.  I even see it here on TGO, though not as often as I do in the mainstream.  There is no need to place "lol" after the title of your thread if that thread was not even remotely funny, nor intended to be.  Checked out Craigslist lately?  More of the same, lol this and lol that, and not a damned funny thing in the whole post.  I'd be okay if I never saw the term again.
  20. It's frustrating as a motorcyclist when you get cut off, it happens.  The insinuation that your phone call is more important than my life does get most motorcyclists blood flowing.  The smartest thing you can do is let it go.  This is a classic Zimmerman/Martin situation.  Both parties did things that they shouldn't have done which escalated the situation to the point that it did.  I would follow someone who had intentionally backed over a friend, I would not do it unarmed.
  21. I'm probably the only person that I can think of who is within 10 years of my age that does not text.  I used to have the smart phone and texted regularly but I gave it up for an $80 a year TracFone that meets my needs.  I loathe the way that it has become acceptable and even fashionable to talk and write like a 2nd grade drop out.  For those that struggle with spelling use Mozilla Firefox, it has a built in spell checker and will suggest "correct" words.  Like Pat, I like to do my best and at least pretend like I'm one of those educated folks.
  22. Also keep in mind that the Examiner is not a reliable source of information.  Anyone can sign up and write for them and there is no fact cecking.  So, take anything you read tere with a grain of salt.
  23. We constantly talk about not getting involved in other people's problems and MYOB.  While generally these may be good ideas, zero tollerance is never a good idea.  I'm not sure that I would have done the same thing but I think what this fella did was the right thing.  Was he an officer of the law?  No.  Was he minding his own business?  No.  Did he get two young children and an unknown number of innocent drivers out of harms way?  Yes.  To my knowledge there is nothing illegal about blocking in a vehicle, and he did not physically detain her.
  24. I don't get it, I have nothing against Glocks, I own two and they rotate as my EDC guns.  I trust my life to them.  That said as far as shooters I don't care for the Glocks at all.  I get much more pleasure shooting 1911s, revolvers, and vintage .22 pistols.
  25. I'm sure some of you are checking your deer online.  This is the first year since the online check in that I have taken multiple deer at once.  (Unit L)  I couldn't figure out if I had to go through the process with each deer or just tag one?
