I haven't bought anything in a while and have the urge to get something......just can't decide on what.

Thanks Grayfox, I double checked in case my eyes deceived me but it's definitely a no dash model 60. I'll pass the info along to my friend. She will appreciate knowing about when he purchased it. She is shocked to know he had it all those years and she never knew.

A friend of mine inherited a Model 60 S&W from her dad when he died. She never even knew he owned a gun until he was gone. It's a pinned barrel Model 60 in .38 special, stainless steel. Serial number R185XXX. Does anyone here know about when it was made? Best I can guess it was between 1969 and 1983. It's in perfect condition with the original box. She doesn't want to sell it but would like to know it's value. Thanks.

The vampires make the rounds early so your test results will be on the chart when the Dr. makes morning rounds. It's a good thing really, it might get you out and home quicker too instead of waiting around all day for results.

Not so bad, when I got mine in 2008 it took 77 days to get it from the time I sent everything in.

I have had great luck with Fenix flashlights. I have 3 and I bought one for my wife to carry in addition to that. Here is the one I carry everywhere I go in a pocket. https://www.amazon.com/Fenix-Flashlights-130-Lumen-Flashlight-Black/dp/B00I14HLLS/ref=sr_1_sc_3?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1515772889&sr=1-3-spell&keywords=feni+flashlight Very small and good battery life with one AA rechargeable. I let the alkaline batteries sit in my LD41 too long, they leaked and ruined the carriage that holds the batteries. I called Fenix and explained it was all my fault and wanted to buy a new carriage but they sent me a new carriage anyway at no charge.

Vortex Viper Reflex Red Dot Quality
Tuffus replied to DalePO1's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I have the Vortex Venom mounted on my Mossberg 500. It's worked like a charm so far. Not much effort to zero in at 25 yards with slugs and buckshot as well. Haven't needed customer service so I can't comment to that. -
I have the FNS9C and love it. Very accurate for a compact and fits my hand really well. I also like the 12 and 17 round magazines that come with it.

I'll be keeping mine out for awhile too for all the passers by that haven't gotten this far south yet

I have 3 feeders out with 6 birds fighting for control. No change from the last 2 weeks, mostly had 4 birds all year up until then.

Sorry for your loss. It's hard to lose a family member but friends are hard to lose too. You actually choose them to be close to.

I had a red wasp and a few yellow jackets feeding on one of my feeders almost 24 hours a day and running the birds off so I set out a wasp trap which worked well. No more wasps or yellow jackets and the birds eat in peace. At least from the wasps, the other birds still fight over it. The trap is cheap and easy to make or you can get one at Lowe's. http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Wasp-Trap

I've read that the red coloring is bad for their kidneys. I make mine just like Peejman.

I have had 3 birds all summer but now I have 6. Maybe they have already started migrating south.

I'll be watching from my back yard.

I just got back from Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. They are expecting 300,000 visitors to the park for the eclipse. If you go there make sure you have a full tank of gas and food in the car. They don't think they will have enough gas for everyone even though they will fill the storage tanks full before the event. Restaurants and stores will probably run out of food too.

No reason to feel inadequate. You seem to have tried and experienced a lot of different things and that's commendable in my book.

I worked at the hospital in Paris Tn. for 30 years as a medical technologist (lab tech.). After 30 years I took my retirement and moved to Murfreesboro because my wife wanted to live there. Took a year off and went to work as a lab tech for 8 more years in Manchester. Decided to retire again. I think this time it might take. Spending my time now playing with my toys. Guns, bicycles, guitars and motorcycles. Rode my bicycle 6018.3 miles last year and am on track to beat that mileage before 2017 is gone. In my spare time I on occasion restore a vintage bicycle and made my first music cd this year of songs I wrote. Yeah, it looks like retirement might just take this time.

Good bike shops are like good gun shops. Give them your business so they can stay in business.

A good wheel set should not break spokes that often. If you have broken 3 spokes already I would consider replacing all the spokes next time you break one. Any good bike shop would be able to rebuild the wheel for you with some good quality spokes. I prefer Wheelsmith or DT spokes when I do a rebuild on my bikes. I have rebuilt several wheels over the last 40 years and never broken a spoke on them. Proper tensioning and good quality spokes are the key.

So we go out on our regular Thursday evening bike club ride and as we cross over I 24 about 5 or 6 police cars pass under with sirens and lights flashing. Then we hear gunfire from the car they were chasing. As we rode south and had to cross back over we saw the state troopers carrying AR 15s and going car to car. The Georgia escapees were on foot in that area after they crashed. That got our heart rate up even more than the ride. Luckily they have been caught.
