  1. If you need a car or some other big ticket item and you don't have the money to pay cash for it, you need a different one that you can. I paid off a car in my twenties and continued to make the payment to myself in a special account until I needed another one. Haven't financed a car in many years. Keep all that interest that would go to the bank for yourself.

    Ruger 57

I bought a used FN 5.7 a few years ago and liked the low recoil and accuracy but sold it. I decided I would rather have 17 rounds of 9mm in my FNX 9 than 20 rounds of 5.7 in a real life self defense situation not to mention the cost of 9mm vs 5.7. I wouldn't rule out having another 5.7 sometime though. It was fun at the range.
  3. I went to Handgunlaw.us to refresh myself with South Carolina carry laws and got this. Won't let me in. Someone here that can explain to me what the problem is and is it safe to go there if I can get around it?
  4. I have one of these on my Mossberg Persuader. 6 MOA. Very quick target acquisition. Comes with a lifetime warranty, even if you run over it with a car. https://palmettostatearmory.com/vortex-venom-red-dot-6moa-1x-magnification-vmd-3106.html
  5. The problem is that by the time they figured out if the coyote had rabies and you had not been treated it might be too late.
  6. Would like to have my 56 Ford truck and 72 Nova SS back. Maybe the 77 Triumph Spitfire.
  7. 1959 chevy, 4 door, inline 6, plywood floor in the back because of rust through. The horn would blow if I pushed the parking brake which I found out at 1am in a girls parents driveway. Not a good way to discover that. What should I expect for $115?
  8. No apology necessary, I'm just posting for those that do. I'm not crazy about Facebook either but put this out there in case anyone wants to participate.
  9. A new Facebook group has been formed on December 30th, already almost 5,000 members on their page. It was formed in response to the debacle going on in Virginia. It deals with 2A issues with primary concern right now with getting sanctuary counties on board in Tennessee. Worth a look to see what it's about. Join if you like. They seem to be trying to keep somewhat strict 2A issues on their site without all the political stuff that people like to post on various gunsites. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2756470157748484/
  10. I have the FNX 9 and FNP 45 but nothing in .40cal. I love both of those guns. They never jam with whatever kind of ammo I use and I always hit what I'm aiming at as long as I do my part right. Go out and shoot yours and you will see what I mean.
  11. I'm assuming that you are on Coumadin (warfarin) for the rest of your life. An ER doc once said it's the worst good drug we have. It does it's job but be sure and keep your level checked as instructed so you don't bleed to death or throw another clot. Your diet also is a factor in your PT. Changing your eating habits, especially green vegetables can change your level. It's good to eat green vegetables but be consistent.
  12. You could always take the free Lyft ride then hire Uber to pick you up and take you home. Maybe even protest the anti gunners when you get there.
  13. My brother is 60 years old and still insists that there is a Santa and expects something under the tree on Christmas morning. You didn't mention if they were still believers or not.

    PLANS

44 special has similar ballistics to 45 acp. You can also use Gold Dot 44 magnum short barrel ammo for less recoil than a full magnum load but I'm not sure how much difference in perceived recoil.
  15. I retired at 51 when I reached 30 years of service and started drawing my pension that day. Took a year off and got a part time job since my wife was still working and keeping our insurance paid up through her job. Worked another 8 years and gave it up for good. Waited to draw my SS until age 65 since we were doing fine on my pension and her salary. The key is to stay out of debt, if i can't pay cash for it, I don't really need it. As I understand it you need to pay into SS for 35 years to get maximum benefits. I spend a lot of time on my bicycle, motorcycle and playing my guitar. We take several trips every year too. Some short, some longer. Good luck with your retirement.
  16. I also have 5 or 6 fighting for food. I have hung out an extra feeder. In the last month they have consumed more of my home made nectar than in previous months. I have to make a new batch tonight in fact.
  17. I went to a Farm Bureau meeting that explained it very well. They didn't put any pressure to buy anything from them. It was definitely worth the time it took. Check with Farm Bureau to see if they have any of those seminars coming up close to you. I took Part A as everyone 65 and over is required to do but it's free. I got Part B through United Healthcare after shopping around because my wife's former employer reimburses part of the premium as a retiree benefit. If you are working for or retired from a Tennessee government employer it's worth a call to check with POMCO https://www.umr.com/oss/cms/UMR/State_of_Tennessee/index.html. Some Tennessee state employees such as teachers get a partial reimbursement on their Part B premium through the state.
  18. Not quite 1000 pounds. Machine was properly calibrated. Don't know what else to say. I have seen 15 year olds that had their first experience with alcohol below the legal limit that were completely passed out. Yes, kids need to be taught about the dangers of drinking.
  19. The machine wasn't broken. I should have mentioned that it was Pizza Hut beers, not a full size beer back then. LOL. But I did have a short lived buzz even if it wasn't that much of one.
  20. I took breathalyzer training years ago for work to do DOT testing. When we went to lunch I had 2 beers, 30 minutes later I had a bit of a buzz and blew a 0.00 on the machine. If you are .08, you are definitely impaired I can assure you. Anyone that feels a buzz should not get behind the wheel of a vehicle. Almost every blood alcohol I ever did, the patient "only had 2 beers". Even when they couldn't sit up and their level was way above legal limit.
  21. People killed by drunk drivers are just as dead as people that are killed by being shot. I had to deal with drunk drivers for 40 years in the ER and so many times they were belligerent and hateful to deal with, even when they had killed someone. They know they should not drive but do it anyway. Just as a shooter knows he shouldn't do it but does anyway.
  22. Another copy cat ice cream licking felon?
  23. I haven't tried the Glock but I do have the Sig p365 and like it a lot. Get the 12 round mag and you can get a better purchase on the grip and still pocket carry with pants with decent size pockets. I also bought 2 of the 15 round mags for spare and it feels like a bigger gun with it inserted.
