What’s wrong with SA and Academy? While I have no problem with steel-cased ammo in an AR, it’s not just lacquer coated ammo that will lock it up. Mine froze on a poly cased round after I let it sit around too long in a hot chamber. If you don’t keep one of those rounds lingering in a hot rifle so the coating melts then it’s not a problem. Pay special extra attention to cleaning he chamber after using coated ammo. It’s just another minute with some Hoppe’s to get rid of it.

Yeti is way overrated. Comparable products are available for significantly less. My RTIC 20 is just as good, if not better, as it is actually larger than the comparable Yeti. They are the Colt of beverage cooling.

Cast iron tubs are actually fairly brittle. Plumbers commonly break them up with sledge hammers to remove them. They will not stop a bullet, at least one from a rifle.

So the the reports I’ve heard is his guns were consfiscated and Illinois firearms card revoked last year. Guns were released to his father who then gave them back to the nut.

While I have never blown 200+ rounds through a 1911 in one session I know the design is capable. The proper maintenance is another matter. With sufficient lubrication it should’t be a problem. Hint: grease the rails.

I could not live with even the thought of random keyholing. Not sure what their warranty or customer service is like but I would be inclined to send it in. Those things are so cheap they might just send you a new one. Don’t know if it’s been mentioned but a damage barrel crown could cause the problem as well.

I bought a brand new 6” one right out of high school and like a fool traded it a few years later. Never did take a shine to it as even then I preferred blue but if I had only known what it would be worth 30 years later.

The 66 was/is the stainless version of the 19. Still Combat Magnum I reckon.

The .38 Special K-frame Combat Masterpiece (K-38) became the Model 15 when model numbering began in the late 1950's. The .22 version became the Model 18. Those are the only S&W's referred to by that name.

Other than the distinct memory of Frankenstein coming up the basement steps, I recall very vaguely, watching man landing on the moon or at least one or more of the Apollo missions. I would have been maybe two years old. Space was big news back then.

The Dick’s in Knoxville stopped selling guns & ammo years ago, long before Academy opened a couple of miles away. They are still open and don’t seem to be hurting for business whenever I pass by. As long as kids need the latest soccer outfit, t-ball bat, or other assorted sports equipment, they will carry on.
