I find it difficult to find any sympathy as well. I do hate to see another iconic American name bought up by foreign investors but Colt is just that, a name. Their relevance passed many years ago.
-
Well, since it's called a Redhawk and in the Redhawk family it's probably Redhawk size.

Here is a far more in-depth article.....http://www.latimes.com/local/california/la-me-sheriff-guns-20150614-story.html#page=1

Does their training not include keeping the booger hooks off the bang switch, regardless of what type of pistol?
-
Why are they running around with their fingers on the trigger?

Went by the show today. Lots of the same characters with the same stuff. Lots of ammo dealers and .22 prices are still at crack-head levels. Good news is David (our very own DLM37015) is there with plenty of reloading supplies, including pistol powders, and he always treats TGO members right. Great guy to do business with. Also, ammo can prices have comes back down to earth a bit. Lots of cans available and .50 cals are $10/each or less....$9 from one vendor.

Not "the" Colt .45 with ivory grips often associated with his legend but another one he owned. Went for $75k. http://www.foxnews.com/science/2015/06/12/colt-45-revolver-owned-by-patton-fetches-75000-at-auction/

Watch the video.....but it looks like the default clip on that link posted by OP has changed in the past few hours. Here is the original: http://www.kctv5.com/clip/11592816/st-louis-zoo-files-court-order-against-ohio-man The St. Louis Police Chief makes his position quite clear. "I think we need to have stronger gun laws", etc.

One pack of these will last just about forever....http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/bryn-maur-ream-n-klean-pipe-cleaners/ID=prod6021244-product Q-tips are great for some things but once soaked in solvent they have a lifespan of seconds.

The Judge and other .45LC/.410 handguns are .45 Colts with a chamber big enough to handle the shotgun shell. A .410 shotgun has a .410 diameter bore. The .45 LC shoots a .452-.454 diameter bullet. It's a recipe for disaster if you ask me and even though the .45 LC is a low pressure round, the .410 is even lower. That gun was simply not designed for it. Maybe it's doable but I wouldn't take the chance. If you decide to please have a someone video it. There's also the lack of rifling in the bore. Why waste a $1-2 bullet that will fly who knows where.

.410 Slugs yes, .45 Colt NO.

I use oil. Whatever is closest when I get the notion.

It is in the water therefore it is a Water Moccasin. Impossible to escape from and the bite will kill in seconds.
-
Rem Oil in aerosol for is good for cleaning powder residue out of tight spaces (think Ruger Mark II). Other than that the whole product family is about useless.

The Ruger Ranch in 300 has a 1:7 twist. http://www.ruger.com/products/americanRifleRanch/specSheets/6968.html

Hickok posted a video on it just the other day. Not really interested in I so only watched the first couple of minutes. Looks like you need 3 hands to take it apart. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19ajx2X1RqA

Is the follower of the mag(s) moving freely? If not lube the inside up a little.
-
I wouldn't worry about getting inside of it unless something doesn't work. The vast majority of revolvers (and semi-autos) are never stripped to that detail nor do they need it. If you want to lube the innards just pull the trigger back and dump some oil in there. It will get where it needs to be.
-
How's the SA/DA trigger pull? I ask because someone's been inside that gun. You can tell from the boogered-up screws. It may look like hell but I bet it still shoots great.

1) It was made in 1958 2) There was no +P rating back then but the gun can handle it. 3) Most likely it left the factory blued (definitely not stainless) or it was nickel and somebody tried to blue it. Pics are often deceiving of old S&W's cause back then they had a very bright, polished blue finish. 4) Ballistol....in case it is nickel: 5) Don't know who could fix it up.

Who's gonna be the first? I see the front sight drum appears to be all the way to the right. Is that "Mil-spec"?

He didn't just "come out", he busted the door down.
