  1. Ya really don't want liquid gas in a moving van/truck but a propane tank while a risk is not going to cause an issue. How many are kept in a garage a mere doorway from your home.... Now keep in mind that a moving service may very well refuse mowers and propane tanks; I know 2 Men and a Truck would not take such items. I packed them in my open air trailer. They will not even take laundry soap etc. Nor will they knowingly move guns etc.... Made them boys laugh when they asked what was in the heavy ass safe... I said that it was none of their business and they said yes sir with a smile... We wrapped all security items in shrink wrap with my name signed in the wrapping as there is absolutely no way to get in without messing up the signature.

Just to add my own 2 cents worth... On board the vessel I'm Chief Engineer on we have a pair of 20 cylinder 2-stroke diesels that the oil pan holds roughly 475 gallons each.... Each will use upward of 20 gallons of oil per 24 hours use; now mind you this is considered fairly normal not worn out. We do not change the oil between overhauls unless our samples test bad or something happens that forces the change. My engines currently have 10K hours since overhaul and have the same hours on the oil too; previous to the overhaul these engines had near to 30K between overhauls and least 20K on the oil..... We change filters every 1,000 to 1,400 hours or sooner if deemed... What your doing with an old high mileage car is the same thing we do with engines that have million dollar plus values....
  3.   On my chunk of Norris Lake humidity yes but bug spray no... I have to say that the skeeters were worse in the south west corner of MI which is less than 2 hours away from Chicago....   Given chance to do a do over I'd look lake wise nearer to Nashville as while being only an hour from Knoxville is nice it also hangs heavy that everything is an hour away...
  4. A while back I was talking with a co-worker that I held in very high regard due to his family values and pride in his work.... Anyway in the course of conversation he began ragging a bit on people or in general where their family may have descended from such as France, Germany etc as though they were less than American... To which I asked him where was his family from, and he responded that he and all of his family was from Virgina.... So I looked at him and asked if he was of Indian descent and he retorted no as though I had insulted him... So I again asked him of what lineage his family descended from. It was at that point that he realized that he had no clue of his family name. was it of Irish, Scottish or German he did not know... Arrogance is as blind as it is deaf and dumb....   I was born in Houma La thus I am an American but my family is of both French as well as German lineage...
  5.   Your house your rules.... Someone else's house? Their rules! I look at it this way I would indeed be upset if someone I did NOT yet really know came into my home armed without my consent; thusly I would not do this to anyone else that I don't KNOW personally...
  6. Everything is least an hour away for me but I value my time at least at 40.00 an hour so you can do the math. If I've got nothing better to do (which is never) I'll met you half way if we've made a deal if for no other reason than we've made a deal....
  7. Cut it in half with a blow torch and put it on display with the owners name in bold lettering..... If you can't keep track of your gun then you should not carry one.....
  8. Let's see comes on a TN based gun forum (AKA REDNECK GUN LOVERS) and goes on a rant about supporting the desecrating of an American Flag and wonders why the thread went south? Dude they still sell Confederate battle flag blankets at the local Walgreens.... Come on when you piss gas on a fire you've got to know it will flare up.... No matter my positions on any subject I'm going to temper my responses depending on the group of people I'm talking to....
  9. Even worse than the word "hipster" itself is the new word "lumbersexual" from the hipster dictionary... A bearded rugged individual usually found wearing bluejeans, flannel shirts and sporting a beard... I'm in my 50's and pretty much once past the age of 17 I've worn some facial hair and jeans now the hip crowd wants to look like us redneck blue collared folks.... WTF
  10. Is this the butthurt thread?
  11. Funny how people who grow up in different locals or even different family lives have such broad ranging thought on what is and is not acceptable.... For so many years a nice Benchmade pocketknife and compact penlight have been part of my regular daily pocket carry that we see the likes of as completely commonplace....
  12. Thanks had to ask... Strange as it sounds while MI allowed open carry of guns without permit statewide towns are allowed to write their own laws on knives thus creating lots of confusion....
  13. Hey guys sorry for a hijack but this thread put a thought in my head to clear up. What is the legal blade length or overal length allowed in TN please? I bought a very handsome knife made out of an old file a number of years ago more as a keepsake but an item of beauty that is never seen or used is but a waste.
  14. It sure can..... Don't fool yourself into thinking that your "white coat" fear is not high blood pressure is it is; just a very early form of it. I'm in my early 50's and have been on meds now for shy of 10 years but I can recall having questionable blood pressure as far back as my late 20's when I was in fairly lean healthy shape. While not as bad to this day when my BP is elevated due to stress or fatigue can feel it in my eyes namely in difficulty to focus on objects both near and far. See your family doctor as well as an eye doctor and be sure to explain your details clearly to them...
  15. Fudds don't realize that they are their own worst enemy and cause as much harm if not more than those who are zelious....
  16.   Is the going elsewhere to get fingerprinted something new or did I just miss that part? And where does one go to get printed?
  17. OMG... Is that one truck sweet looking truck!   Like your boat too; if I didn't already have a boat payment and a wife.....
  18. There was also a 2nd video of the truck driving asshat basically proving that he is just that an asshat.... He is filmed following the bikes around in town and throwing a bottle at them....
  19. I saw that video too and thought the fox was just having too much fun with "toys" to have not had lots of human interaction....   I also wish that my dogs played that lively with their toys.... Zzzzzzzz
  20. We've only eaten at the Alamo once but look forward to when we get to go back... I left a 100.00 bill on the table for me and the wife but we were very full and happy on leaving....
  21.  What sounds unusual to me is that you need new struts from a 7 year old car with less than 90K on the OD.... I'd be asking another shop or even a Toyota dealership for 2nd opinion....

    Bird ID?

I have a coworker who lives in KY to which his wife bakes "bird bread" near daily for the wood pecker who all but knock on the door demanding to be fed their ration of corn bread, while another one sits on the deck rail screaming for peanuts as he/she does not care for the bread....
  23. While I try to remain open minded to open carry as I clearly realize that no road is ever paved without blazing the trail I can't help but think dam it sure does create a lot of unwanted attention along the way.....

    Bird ID?

The ones I'm used to seeing build their nest in rocks even right along side the road where we live as it gets very little traffic....
