  1. Glad you didn't die, Steve. :)
  2. Where did he say that it was on the Internet? He said that it was a friend of a friend.
  3. You know you guys are just validating the "word" coined by Bill Maher by accepting its use, right?   My response would have been ridicule similar to, "It's laughable that you attempt to feign a false intellect by using a made-up word that doesn't even fit the situation for which Mayer used it! The more appropriate made-up word would be 'haplosexual' since the context of which Maher used it was referring to sexual stimulation from a weapon rather than the ammunition for it you idiot."
  4. The local clerics were telling their people to stay far away from that even that night. That could be interpreted two ways, but my guess is they simply wanted them to not assist in starting something.
  5. Yep, appraisers, sorry. It was the appraiser that blamed Oblamo.
  6. That's the way it is for all home loans now. The Oblamo administration decided that having your own inspectors was a bad idea, so they put them all in a pool regardless of the loan, and they are randomly drawn from the pool when you ask for an inspector. I know this because when I wanted to refinance my home I was worried about the inspector because the last one was an idiot. I called the inspector that I was referred to and he explained it all to me and said that he'd be happy to inspect my house but that it would be null and void for the use of refinancing or selling.   For David's situation I cannot advise because I've only bought a new house on a VA loan back in Kansas City: however, I was wanting to refinance with a VA loan because once you finance with a VA loan you can refinance without hassle if the rate drops.

  8. Doesn't Tennessee law give the same standing of your car as your home?   I would think that when the carjacker disengaged from the victim and engaged another a separate set of circumstances come into play, but it would depend on a lot of factors to speculate on the Interwebz.
  9. Consider this: If they cannot have any form of depiction of their prophet then nothing drawn depicts the profit for no one knows what he looks like.   No one knows what Mohammed looks like just as we don't know what Jesus looks like. [No, the picture that we associate with Jesus was drawn long after his death]
  10. I think that they did, hence the police response.
  11. Officers are being charged with murder: http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/prosecutor-grays-death-a-homicide-6-baltimore-officers-charged/ar-BBj262m
  12. Any draft pick is hit or miss. Some will fall flat on their face and wash out when their contract allows, and some do spectacular. Some walk-on players make it too. No one here can read the minds of the Titan's management to know what their plan is; we can only hope that it's a sound one.
  13. I think that they should get the money from Streisand, et al.   The water issue is not new; they just let it get worse figuring on the rest of the US to bail them out.
  14. If she can get $800 a pop out of people then I have no problem, but I'm not going to be one of them. Some look at it like an unreasonable labor charge, but I see it as a product of her creativity and I wonder if she can/will copyright the design.
  15. Hers was the Fitbit its self. She'd bought stylish bands for it up front.
  16. My wife bought one and it broke within a couple of weeks. POS! [the Fitbit; not her]
  17. It doesn't matter if he had 24,000 arrests on his rap sheet. Seeing the police and running is suspicious, but not illegal. Don't get me wrong: a dirt-bag is a dirt-bag, and play stupid games; win stupid prizes and all: however, from the accounts posted so far the police had no cause to chase this cat down to begin with.
  18. Correct, and therein lies the rub!
  19. Yes, coffee is what drove most in. Some also have more than doughnuts as well. I didn't have a doughnut shop in my town, but one was fairly close. We had convenience stores which caused me to eat a hell of a lot more packaged foods than I cared to. Heck, I'll still eat a microwaved burrito on occasion. :)  I couldn't drink the coffee because it would keep me up when I got home and tried to sleep.
  20. According to the news there was no suspicion of a crime; just that he ran when he saw the police and it is a high, drug-related crime area. I guess up there you better not start jogging when a cop's around. :)
  21. That's the breakfast of champions right there!     When I was a cop I refused to eat donuts at all just because I didn't want to feed the stereotype.
  22. I think what causes the confusion is that the state parks still have signs up at the entrance prohibiting firearms. Every time we go camping my wife asks me if I'm sure that it's legal to carry in the park because she sees the sign at the entrance.
  23. Big Al's already there and organizing a march. I guess it took a week for the check to clear.
  24. The report that I saw said that the guy's spinal cord was 80% severed in his upper thoracic spine with no broken bones. That takes a hell of a lot of force, folks, that I just don't see the cops being able to inflict on their own. Dude ran from the popo and might have been mouthy to the wagon driver. The driver doing a brake check without the prisoner secured to something, (laying on the floor), could certainly generate enough force to accomplish this damage considering it looked like he was loaded head first.
