  1. This Korean stuff was made for the M1 Garand for use by the Korean Military. Even came packed in the standard 8 round clips.
  2. Good point. When I was dealing with my late friend's collection I found a fairly large supply of corrosive Korean .30-06 mil-surp ammo. Shockingly, I also found the bore of his M1 Garand was a rusty mess. My guess is that he shot some of that ammo and forgot to clean the rifle. Thankfully, with a bit of elbow grease, the bore cleaned up just fine.
  3. One of the working theories is that this is intentionally way over the top and they don't expect it to move. However, It will make the next effort look more reasonable.
  4. A lot of normal capacity guns were sold with 10 round mags. A couple of years ago I bought a Hi-Power clone NIB that was imported in the late 90s. It came with two factory 10 rounders because that was all that was allowed at the time. Or you could just switch to bigger bullets as in a single stack .45. BTW: if you want any normal capacity mags, now's the time to get 'em. When the assault weapon ban happened in 94, normal magazines were selling at the speed of light and prices got plumb crazy. I'm talking $100+ for one otherwise common pistol mag.
  5. I'd be tempted to at least give it a try. Who knows, it might shoot just fine. With steel bullets and cases, I see no point in disassembling it except to just scrap it. I wouldn't bother to reload it.
  6. Well I thought it was British Radway Green. But it seems Garufa found the real answer. Didn't realize the Chinese counterfeited ammo. But then again, all the Radway Green I've ever used was packed in 20 round cardboard boxes. Well that just sucks.
  7. Can you post a pic of the headstamp? That'll probably answer your question.
  8. What you have is your basic Colt "D" frame revolver. The Cobra is a lightweight, alloy framed version of the classic Detective Special. Your's appears to be a 1st Issue revolver made between 1950-72. We would need the serial number to find the exact year of manufacture. The .32 Colt New Police cartridge is the exact same round as the .32 S&W Long. The only difference being that Colt loaded it with a flat point bullet where S&W used a round nose. You can shoot .32 S&W Long ammo in that no problem. The Colt "D" frames have always been popular and the lightweights even more so. However, the .32 caliber will detract a bit from its value. Those grips don't help much either. I'd guess that to be about a $500-550 gun. Edit: Just saw where you added a pic with the serial #. Your gun was made in 1966. Further research indicates a factory original nickle finish.
  9. I was a teenager in the 1960s and a young soldier in a drug infested Army from 72-75. Believe it or not, I went through all that and never once have used any form of recreational pharmaceuticals, including marijuana. Nope, I was a drunk instead. I've got nothing against anybody who has an occasional toke now and then. And I fully understand the benefits of medical marijuana. But I never have understood the whole CBD thing. Ok, so its marijuana but you took the good stuff out? What's the point in that? Nothing but snake oil to me. I won't waste money on it. And yeah, the stuff is everywhere.
  10. Very nice! That would be an "I" frame which is slightly smaller than the "J" most of us are familiar with. The finish looks totally righteous to me. I doubt its been refinished. SCSW only lists serial numbers as 160000-536684 for years 1911 to 1941. It does mention that serial numbers 384XXX were reached by 1923. You'd need a letter to get any closer than that. I have long lusted after a Model 35 which is the modern day equivalent to your revolver. But alas, so far no luck.
  11. I went to a GAGS show in Ripley a couple years ago. It wasn't much. I've never bothered going to another one.
  12. Too much, too soon. It'll never fly.
  13. Beggars can't be choosers. 9mm bullets were one component I was a bit short on. So I ordered a box. Thanks for the heads up. BTW: these are the only bullets Precision Delta has in stock. I doubt they'll last long. Better jump now.
  14. Sad indeed. Seems like all the actors that were so common in our lives and brought us great joy are slipping away.
  15. I've never played the stock market and quite frankly don't understand anything about it. I have no idea what a "short" is or how in hell forcing a company to fail makes you money? About all I do know is that there's a bunch of dirty, unscrupulous azzholes who would sell their own mothers into prostitution to make a buck. Ok, so a bunch of little guys got together, used the same tricks the big guys use and made a bunch of money? Now the big guys are crying foul? Can somebody explain this in language that I can understand? Use little words please. And why is all this so bad? I don't get it?
  16. I don't like Jennings. His voice just doesn't work here. Too quiet for a game show host. And his pace just doesn't fit the rhythm of the show.
  17. These posts always make me chuckle. You may be saving on costs per round, but most of us end up shooting more. So we really don't save any money at all. Of course these days with the Covid, shortages and high costs, most of us are saving quite a bit because we aren't shooting at all.
  18. And about the U-Haul thing... Consider this. Those moving here by U-Haul are the folks too poor to hire a moving company. I fear we may be acquiring other states problem children.
  19. I've posted before about my younger son and his new bride's frustrations at trying to buy a house. They looked for months and kept getting out bid. They finally are having one built. Current projections have a move in date of early March. But even then, they're cutting costs by doing some stuff themselves, like painting. So actual move in will take a bit longer. However, so far its going well. The problem here is that nobody wants to live inside the Memphis city limits. Memphis is a cesspool and people can't get out fast enough. However, that's where the jobs are. So the suburbs are very popular here. You can actually find houses to buy inside Memphis, but nobody wants those. My son's new house will actually be about 20 miles outside the city. And that's about as close as anybody is going to get these days.
  20. Hard to say without pictures. Just about any mechanically sound Model 15 should sell in the $400-450 range even with a rough finish. A very good one could easily bring $600 these days. I had to look up the Spesco as I've never heard of them. Apparently, these were made by Taurus in the 1970s. Pics I saw looked like a decent gun. But also remember that it was the early Taurus revolvers that gave the name a bad rap which took many years to overcome. If it checks out mechanically, I'd take a chance on it.
  21. I believe the point is that this was a huge formal occasion for the democrats. Most were dressed in their very best. Then old Bern shows up casually dressed for cold weather like the inauguration was just another stop between the Post Office and the grocery store on the day's to do list. Lots of Dems are pissed off at him for not taking it more serious. Meanwhile the rest of the country is laughing their butts off. Hell, Bernies gettin' more mileage out of the inauguration than Biden did.
  22. I'm guessing he stops there every day.
  23. Its a very old picture. That thing has been floating around the internet for 15-20 years now.
  24. There is a RK gun show at the Jackson Fair grounds Saturday and Sunday. Usually pretty decent. I normally always go to this one. But due to Covid, I'm gonna pass this time. If anybody goes, please give us a report.
