Remington Tac14/ Mossberg Shockwave question
Omega replied to piper266's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Supposedly you can have them in the parking lots, just not inside. https://www.cnn.com/2013/07/11/us/guns-post-office/index.html -
Well, looks like Russian ammo is safe for now. https://www.cnn.com/2018/01/29/politics/trump-russia-sanctions/index.html

Ok, to not get more thread drift on the OP, and get more exposure on this subject stemming from this post: As @Oh Shoot correctly stated, it is legal to have a loaded pistol or long gun in your vehicle, but the hunting regulation seems to contradict that. From page 36 of last years (2017) regs: The first sentence seems to support the transporting part with "except when authorized ", but then goes on to prohibit them being loaded. Now, you would think that a law would supersede a hunting reg and you would have to be hunting for this to apply...but I can tell you from personal experience that the judge will take the game warden's word over yours if charged. And though this may be a reg, there seems to be "law" behind it as many game infractions are misdemeanors. Now, don't get me wrong, I support many of these hunting regs, but game wardens get too much leeway in the enforcement of them and there are too many loosely worded regs, and laws, which can be seen in different ways.

Remington Tac14/ Mossberg Shockwave question
Omega replied to piper266's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Hmm, I wonder how this jives with the hunting reg? I never needed a loaded rifle in my truck for hunting, but it was a PITA to unload it just to move from one hunting location to another; or when just having lunch in foul weather. -

I didn't think it included rifles though; is it just pistols or does it include long guns as well? -
That was a good price, good catch.

I've been lucky, none of my PSA blems have anything close to that shading problem. But, that wouldn't be an issue for me; you got a nice brace there, that a PSA offered model? I seen them, and like them but just a bit more than I wanted to spend.
-
You can always do this!
-
I just got a 9mm upper and lower from PSA, that way no issues. Their AR gear is indead compatible with many mfgs, I've had uppers on andersons, DPMS, S&W, Spikes etc., with no issues.
-
Seen a few YouTube videos of doing that, don't recall their reasoning for it though but possibly so they wouldn't have to replace the hand guards to cover the gas block and tube.

Glad to hear your home, and Happy Birthday! Best to take it easy and get some rest, we will all be here when your ready.

Possibly one that got "full" and big-banged??

You know, that has always been something I never agreed with. Insane? Lock them up for life, not "treat" them then let them loose. They should be sent to an insane asylum with heavy security and if "fixed" do the trial then.

Yup, I was in Japan from 91'-94', it was strange dropping off my kids to what looked like a police station. The school was a magnet school, which meant it was a rough school, at least it seems like that for magnet schools. I do believe we overprotect our kids, with all the coddling, and hand sanitizer we are fast becoming less resistant to hardship and germs. I'm not saying bullies should not get checked, just that we are not doing a good thing with 0 tolerance. Yea, heard that as well. It sucks no doubt, but I'm sure most involved had no part in it.

I read it, and again I say we have become too soft as a society. So he was being picked on, big deal, it is not something you are going to stop, no matter how many commercials, t-shirts or posters you put up. Kids will pick on each other, always have and always will, but us actually doing all this protecting and arresting is IMO detrimental in the long run. With my kids, I always told them to defend themselves if the teacher didn't intervene or if the intervention didn't work. Yes, I've had to see the teacher a couple of times, and I told them the same thing, my kids will defend themselves at all times.

Seeing as we can only detect that which has happened how ever many light years away the observed phenomena is, I'd say we are just now able to detect it. What ever happened, it happened, thousands, millions, to billions of years ago and just now reaching us.

Sorry, but being bullied does not give him any excuse for something like this. I can see punching out one doing the bullying, but shooting up the school is not any way to go about fixing anything. As I recall, there has always been some sort of bullying going on in school, but you just didn't have this "everyone is a winner" generation then, so they had to either suck it up or confront their bullies. We as a society have become too soft, and get our feeling hurt way too easily.

It's social media, today one can share all their thrills and woes online making it easier for others to be involved. The fact that most would not know each other but for the social media platform give a sense of anonymity so are more free with their opinions. Sensitive people should not air their problems online.

AR-Stoner AR-15 Optics Ready Upper Receiver Assembly
Omega replied to xsubsailor's topic in Long Guns
Not talking red dot here, just plain ole 3-9×40. For years I used see-through scope rings thinking I may need my irons. You know what, only once has a scope failed on me, and I didn't see any deer that day. -

Meh, irons are over rated for my old eyes. I run optics on just about all my rifles so no need for a front sight. As a matter of fact, I avoid ARs with the old front and carry handle sight. -
Door Devil (Door Reinforcement) Group Buy! (Ends March 16th, 2018.)
Omega replied to GlockSpock's topic in General Chat
Right, if you are known to have numerous guns it would put you into one of the categories I mentioned. Me, most of the guys that know I'm a gun guy have their own collection, and all truth be known, if they really wanted to get into a place they could, that's their job after-all. What is good about where I live is that there is an EMS right across the street, some of the guys know me and there is always activity out there, it's also a busy street so traffic is always present. Not that some won't be stupid enough to try, but there are better more easily accessible places to try. -

I look at it this way, unless you are a drug dealer, banker or other high value target person, you will be a target of opportunity. The criminal will not come prepared for a door that gives them more resistance than a standard door does, if they see extra security they will probably go break in somewhere else or target you for another time when they can come better prepared. If you back up this with a camera, you will know if someone has tried getting in and can be better prepared as well. Nothing says go away better than a well defended domicile. -

What?? Who needs a lead door when you could get a bunch of boolits out of it. -
We used to do that outside the windows in Hokkaido Japan, 15' of snow in some areas there.
