  1. I have a 2” barrel on my K6 and like it a lot. The only change I made was to replace the grip. I needed somewhere for my little finger to hang out.
  2. Give Kimber customer service a call. I don’t know if yours is under warranty or not, but I have had some very good experiences dealing with them. Under warranty or not, one of their techs can help you out. Be sure to call them and not email them. Good luck.
  3. So you can carry legally across state lines. I have had a permit for 25 years, I was going to Whitefish Montana, so I checked to see what states honored a Tenn. carry permit. I went through Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana. Only Illinois did not.
  4. To each his own, but I bought a Kimber K6 a year ago and have been pleased with it. Good trigger, night sights, 6 rounds and 25 ounces.
  5. I agree with a previous post, that bear spray is more effective than a handgun. Having said that, when I am in back country, I also carry a Ruger LCR .357.
  6. I have read several accounts of Sig P-320 discharges without pulling the trigger. Maybe they did maybe they didn’t. I also remember all of the allegations of Glocks going off without touching the triggers for the last 40 years. I believe a lot of these stories are people just covering their ass for being stupid and careless.
  7. Light weight, easy to carry on longer hikes, I always carry my Ruger LCR .357. I used it this past Sept. at Glacier National Park.

    P365 vs Hellcat

I’ve been carrying my 365 for just over a year. Couldn’t be happier with it.
  9. Not sure how quick you need a new Venom, but I bought a new one 1 1/2 weeks ago at Kings firearms in Columbia, Tenn. I did pay $30.00 to much, but I wanted it and it was in stock. Good luck.
  10. Welcome to TGO, also from Columbia.
  11. Like some other comments, there is not an absolute best carry weapon, as for me, I carry a Sig P365 and sometimes Kimber Micro 9. They work well for me. Good luck in finding the right weapon for you.

    Kimber K6

I just picked up a Kimber K6 revolver I had ordered online. I haven’t had a chance to get to the range yet. I had been considering one for a little while and decided to go ahead. I like the looks, the trigger, the night sights and the 6 rounds. The range trip will tell me if I made the right decision or not. I was wanting to get any feedback I could from any members who have any personal experience with a K6. Thanks.
  13. I have a Ruger American .22 mag. and it is as accurate as any rimfire I have ever owned. For the money, you can’t go wrong.
  14. I was in Dunhams Sports in Columbia, Tn. the other day, and they had plenty of Federal 9mm ammo. It wasn’t cheap, I believe around 12.99 a box, but they had plenty.
  15. The AS was a way for Marlin to distinguish that the gun was part of the Glenfield line of guns that were made with a walnut finished birch stock. The same applies to the AW, which means all weather, or synthetic stock, now it is my understanding that this was prior to 2000.
  16. My only experience with a gun made in Turkey was a Stoeger Cougar .40 cal. I bought it new in 2012. It is the same as a Beretta Cougar. I needed to replace the guide rod and recoil spring after a while. There was no where you could get a replacement, Beretta sent me to Stoeger, Stoeger sent me to Numerich parts. (not sure about the spelling) as their official parts supplier. No parts in stock, after numerous inquiries, they said they were at the mercy of the supplier in Turkey and had no control about when parts were sent. It took 6 months for parts for my .40 cal. to come in. They had them for a 9mm cougar, none for a .40 cal Cougar. It just makes me a little cautious about Turkish made weapons.
  17. These adapters work well in the Shockwave with the mini rounds.
  18. For the last 5 months I have been carrying a Sig P365, it replaces a Kimber Micro 9 I carried for 2 years. I like the Sig's 12 round mags.
  19. After seeing so many bears on the trails in the last few years in the east Tenn. and western North Carolina mountains I carry bear spray. Never have needed it, but I have it. While hiking in Rocky Mountain National park a couple of years ago, I carried a Ruger LCR .357. It may or may not have helped me if I was attacked, but it made me feel a little better about having it on my belt. Carry whatever makes you feel a little more secure.
  20. I sometimes carry a Sig P238 Legion, especially in warmer weather when I wear lighter clothes. I have complete confidence in it and my ability to hit exactly what I aim at with it. Shot placement is everything with it, but it is with a 9mm also. Modern .380 defense ammo has come a long ways in the last few years. I use Hornady Critical Defense, and it is an effective round at close range. Having said all that, it is not my caliber of first choice, but I do occasionally carry it, and it can be effective if you use it and practice with it.
