  1. Looking for opinions on CCR's Dusk finish; I'm putting together a 2011 and considering nitride, DLC, and maybe Dusk. It appears to be an NP3 coating that is colored black. I haven't found much in terms of reviews, other than one comment on a different forum that the coloring wears off quickly. As far as the NP3, as I understand it that is the most durable finish of all, even better than DLC. I already know that CCR is highly regarded for their work; just looking for experience with this particular finish.
  2. I recommend the Hahn Precision dedicated magwell block. You have to remove the bolt release (one roll pin) to install it, but it is very solid, doesn't move at all and can't come out. I have three and they have been excellent with the Metalform/Brownells mags. LRBHO works perfectly. I use the JP Enterprise 9mm bolts which work great. Both items are pricey but if you want reliability for competition you may want to buy once/cry once, especially on the mag block. You will also need a 9mm buffer.
  3. I'm doing my part. I've got two Silencerco products pending.
  4. P99c. Great ergonomics and the AS trigger can't be beat. I even prefer the mag release lever over a button.
  5. Had a Kahr MK9, it had a fantastic trigger and was very accurate. Traded it because it was too heavy with the all metal frame. I might have to try the PM9.
  6. An AR with 1:7 twist shooting 75-77gr 5.56 ammo along with a decent 1-4x scope has all the versatility you need. And keep the .308.
  7. Live in Jonesborough but work in Johnson City. Good to chat with like-minded folks in the area.
  8. Wish somebody would get one of these in my area.
  9. I'm new to Comcast, have had the Triple Play for about three months. I did everything online and didn't talk to anybody. The cable boxes and interface are much better than anything I've had previously with Time Warner and Mediacom (living in different regions while in the military). The installer was good. So far I've been very happy, but I haven't had to use customer service for anything yet.
  10. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to the dark side.
  11. All those folks that say .40 does no better than 9mm should take a look at this test.
  12. I rarely catch anything, but the two times I've had the flu I was completely out of commission for a week.  Seven full days of fever up to 102, body aches, fatigue, to the point that I did not get out of bed except when I had to.  Anybody who has had the flu will probably be in favor of getting a flu shot.
  13. Proud member of the wrong crowd.
  14. Daniel Defense makes nice barrels as well.
  15. I've lived in three states with open carry; it was not unusual to see someone on the street or in a store with a pistol on their belt.  It was a non-issue.  It's time TN joined the other free states and allow open carry.

    10mm?

Light, reliable, plenty of parts upgrades available, more capacity than a revolver.  Get it.
  17. I don't see the problem.  An AR-15 was carried in public and nothing at all happened.  Things like this will chip away at the media's narrative that AR-15s cause mass shootings wherever they appear.

    PSA 9mm AR

Hahn Precision makes great 9mm magwell adapters but they're a bit more expensive.  I prefer the dedicated version that drops in from the top; you have to remove the bolt catch lever to install it, but that's literally about 60 seconds of work.
  19. I second the Kahr suggestions.  The PM9/MK9s are about the smallest 9mms you can buy.
  20. So would the National Guard and/or federal LEO abide by that?
  21. I thought they were changing the colors to match the Mexican flag.
  22. Another vote for the Kahr.  Best trigger in it's class, IMO.  It also has full-sized sights, and can be ordered with factory night-sights.
  23. Grippos.
