  1. Exactly.....shot placement. Ok, so a guy survived a .380 round....lots of cases of 9mm survivors (20+ rounds sometimes) too. Do I prefer .380? Not at all. But there are times when that's the best you can do carry-wise, so I don't discount it. Plenty of folk have died from .22 encounters for that matter. And some people (due to age or other reasons) just can't handle more recoil. Better than a sharp stick.
  2. The wife CC's a LCP II. I'd rather that she carried a 9 but women have different clothing/physical constraints, so I make sure that she carries a round that has reliable function/expansion (same ammo that Defender posted). I often add a .380 as backup to my 9 or .45. Decent round with today's improved loads, but not my preference when dress standards allow a larger frame.
  3. Always gonna be haters, even in church. Yah, our church is in Antioch...not that one, but not that far. Very grateful for that young man, indeed.
  4. Maybe in days gone by. In present day, given the escalation of incidents, I think most congregants welcome protection and knowledge there-of. Our church security carries, and most of us know that they do, and are thankful. Doesn't mean that I depend on them personally; my safety is my own responsibility. As for options, there's a plethora of small 9mm fold-able PDW choices out there (SBR or otherwise), pistol chassis add-ons, and even an MP5 can be concealed with a bit of innovation. Yeah, as Security you might need to float on the fringes vs sit'n in the pews but that's not unusual IME.
  5. That's get'n a bit personal...and kinky.
  6. Meh. I shoulder mine at the range all the time...no one there gives a FF. Yah, IF there is an ATF agent in the adjacent lane he might have a problem. However the ATF is an unconstitutional agency, so I don't pay it much mind.
  7. When it can materially respond to a voice command of "Tea, Earl Grey, Hot" I'll consider a purchase.
  8. Mmm....but max capacity doesn't necessarily dictate FS (double-stack Glocks come to mind). That said, yah, I keep a G17 (in a CAA MCK chassis, red-dot, light, sling, extra 17rd mag in the slot) bed-side. But along with that, my SC EDC which holds 14rds (Beretta Storm PX4 & Olight Valk mini 2). Capacity doesn't require FS as much so as in the past. As for the OP's post, my last purchase was the Storm and I doubt I'll be buying any more FS guns....not that I wouldn't like to do so. But I'm living on a fixed income now so if it's not for EDC I'll have to pass. At the range I mainly train with what I carry.
  9. Hadn't heard that, but we had no problem taking Lyft 2 days running to/from the NRA convention in Indy last year (where Trump was speaking). Just because corporate makes stupid decisions, I don't see why the little guy needs to suffer....the drivers were nice and very appreciative. In our experience Lyft beats Uber service-wise.

    It's snowing

They still do in CO, especially at elevation....maybe not in TN. ".. you just have to approach the problem with some common sense." Now that may date to the '60s.

    It's snowing

Actually, driving on ice is impossible...without studs. I grew up in south IN, spent +30yrs living in CO, so I know snow. Still have memories of jeeps and other 4WDs up-ended off-shoulder by the freeways in banks of snow when they thought "ah, it's only a bit o'ice".
  12. Interesting concept, but totally different than their Urban Carry models. Frankly I don't see the advantages over Kydex. Yeah, maybe a bit more comfy but leather is bulky IWB or OWB. Regardless of their promo video points, I've never had an issue with Kydex or 600D nylon for that matter.
  13. I tried one a few years back.....returned it. Only works well if you keep the belt loose. Not practical IMO. Plus it takes two hands to draw. No thanks.
  14. I've owned a Tactical 45 version for years.....excellent gun. Congrats!
  15. >As for Berry, check out her training video Yah, I watched it awhile back. Kudos to her for trying, but she's nowhere near the expertise level of Keanu when it comes to the stunts. Not her fault but IMO it didn't fit in well with her "top-level assassin" character role in the movie. Granted, maybe she's a bit rusty due to her elevation to "management".
  16. Nothing wrong with that. One of my first autos was a SA .45 XD Compact. Good gun, built like a (Croatian) tank. I just didn't shoot it well, so moved on. As with any 1st-gen gun, I'll wait awhile for the bugs to be squashed before wasting any interest cycles.
  17. "You have chosen wisely...."
  18. As a Wick fan, I enjoyed all three, tho' the first was the best and the last a bit sub-par as is per usual with sequels. I greatly admire Keanu's dedication to training and authenticity (within Hollyweird boundaries). He does around 90% of his own stunts and many of those gotta hurt.
  19. Pretty simple process, tho' the pins can be a beeatch to punch out. I used this video for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWc6i506oEQ
  20. Fluffy is the new stuffy....kinda like orange is the new black. Or so I'm told.
  21. I shot a rental FS version at the range before my purchase. Frankly, I don't notice much diff on the recoil with this SC version. My weather vane on that is my wife....she's very recoil sensitive, and she loves shoot'n this SC. Her primary range gun is a Gen 3 G26, and she sees little difference. With "spicy" Speer loads the SC is very low-recoil IMO. Maybe it's the weight or grip design. I've considered changing out that spring but the more it's "broken in" the less I see a need.
  22. That's because I wasn't talking about your guns.
  23. To each their own. Compared to a G26, for the capacity difference, the size and weight (and action...and rail) is worth it to me. https://www.handgunhero.com/compare/glock-g26-gen4-vs-beretta-px4-storm-subcompact
  24. Been a few months, and a few minor travails... The Storm had FTE issues out of the box and later on after cleaning, so I sent it back to Beretta to check out. They adjusted the extractor, tested (26rds worth), and returned it. Took a bit more "exercise" at the range, and some filing touch-up by me on the back rail-embeds but all good now. This Storm doesn't like wimpy loads (has a heavy recoil spring) tho' it's totally reliable with my usual Speer diet (124gr Lawman and GoldDot). Still get'n used to the DA/SA trigger action and the wide trigger itself but really love the size, fit, capacity & quality. I swapped out the skin-shredding bat-wing type F levers for the carry type G's, added Talon-style grips and an Olight Valk M2. Nice little CC package that's big enough to handle night-stand duty too.
  25. Good tip, hadn't thought of that. Tho' hazmat shipping costs eat a bit into the savings I would think. I only load .380, 9mm, and .45ACP, usually with Hodgdon powders. I've still got over half of a 8lb'r of Universal Clays to work through.
