  1. That is painful to watch......Makes me wonder if I want to live to a ripe old age in a world that generation runs....
  2. I like that "Last year we saw tens of thousands of students nationwide take to the streets to demand action...." Tens of thousands out of the population of 325 million. So lets say 65000...or .02% of the population. Just as a comparison, there are estimated to be 251,000 Amish in the US. So should we all turn off our electricity? Stupid people pushing personal agendas and firing up those too lazy to think for themselves.
  3. Yep, in turn more profitable businesses spend more money, at least part of it in the community. They hire more employees too. Those emplyees pay taxes via sales tax and/or income tax. So the ripple effect goes on. In addition this promotes successful young people who grow up to be the next generation of community leaders.
  4. Always be prepared! A few others that rattle around in my head: Friendly fire...isn't. The most dangerous men don't have to tell you they are dangerous. You can't outdraw a drawn gun. Newer does not always equal better.
  5. Wasn't out of stock . When he posted. Lol
  6. If they run out of them..they might have to go high tech.
  7. I usually dont chime in, but.. Has Trump even thought about this? Kinda makes spending money on a wall seem questionable....
  8. Do you mean 2.0 and New?
  9. Black Friday before last someone did a $250 AR15... If I can get a factory gun that cheap, why bother building? I am not big into all the specialized name brand parts. Plus resale is easier and higher on a factory gun. I saw 22mods has a complete rifle on sale for $399 https://22mods4all.com/collections/complete-firearms/products/zaviar-16-mid-length-223-wylde-1-9-parkerized-lightweight-ar15 Of course you have to factor in transfer fees.
  10. I bought several stripped lowers a while back. I keep looking at buying some kits from 22mods4all.com to complete them. You can buy a kit for as low as $209 w/o a BCG. Add a BCG for $69. That is everything besides the stripped lower. Also they are not A2 style and have beyond or mood I handguards. Of course, some of the deals that bring the complete kits into the $350 range might make building it seem more trouble than it is worth.
  11. I actually started buying guns to use because I knew I would treasure those passed to me. My Dad has a 1100 in 12ga. He is so scared he will scratch it that he barely uses it. LoL
  12. You are welcome. You are very lucky to get to share that great pistol while he is still with you. My grandfather had a very unfortunate issue long before me when a friend he sold a pistol to killed his wife. He never let another pistol go as long as he lived. My Dad has them now and I will get them at some point. I think family guns hold so much more meaning.
  13. I had the same issue on the 04 Vibe we had. Seemed to burn out constantly in the last few years we had it. One side was ok to change. The other required a contortionist or disassembling the car.
  14. I meant to note before that an M4 is a NFA (machine gun because it either can do 3 round bursts or full auto depending on model) item, you want to look at an AR15. AR15, AR10, and AR9 are semi only guns. As someone noted, it is based on the Armalite model names. Armalite Rifle 15, AR15. I agree the Mini14 or Mini30 can be good options too
  15. So which distributors have you been buying from?
  16. I gonna need a bigger boat.... I actually passed by their location one day on a trip.....The wife did not appreciate my suggestion to stop and browse.
  17. Never been in there myself. I used to go into Sam's Gun & Pawn in Bristol TN a bunch a couple years ago with a buddy, but it is not close for for me anymore. Was not educated enough then to know if prices were right. I really need to get time to drop by places. I would love to run into a couple things.
  18. That is Gunrunners... Indian Springs Armory is pretty decent. Not bought much there though.
  19. You might look at the WMA public lands. There are several not far from you.
  20. Ok Well hopefully the other link/info helped. I did some research years ago that I will post here for anyone that does have a tax stamp on a box. All public info, just have to dig a bit. A list of the acts related to ammunition tax and what changes occurred: ============================= 1937, Ch. 84: mentions a “privilege tax” which equals 3% of the retail sales price of the ammunition; no mention of specific amount 1945, Ch. 37: $.03 per box on center fire and shotgun shells; $.01 on rim-fire ammunition 1974, Ch. 481: all money from the ammunition tax goes to the Wildlife Resources Fund; no mention of specific amount of tax 1979, Ch. 179: $.05 on any ammunition box 1982, Ch. 738: amending language; no mention of tax amount 1989, Ch. 486: $.10 on any ammunition box ===========
  21. I spent a week in London and 2 weeks in Peak District National Park in Derbyshire back in the mid 90's. I was part of a student group doing trail maintenance and such in the park. So there is a cobblestoned path and wall that I had a hand in. I loved everything about it. Got to visit several non-tourist places in London I was revered to and then soak in the views in the park. Several days the moor was covered in fog and all you heard all day was sheep. By the end we hated that noise. Lol Pretty big trip for me. Farthest I had been before was D.C., and that was a group trip.
  22. Just saw this 2 barrel revolver in .22 WMR that fires both barrels at once. Interesting but gimmicky.. https://www.ballisticmag.com/2019/01/04/standard-mfg-s333-double-barrel-handgun/
  23. You got me curious. I found this posted. Evidentially the ammo could be reloaded without a press, but had proprietary bullets.
