  1. And I meant to add this earlier: Your neighbor sounds like a pretty reasonable guy, as do you. Thanks for posting up a story along the lines of "Two neighbors have rational, reasonable discussion about mutual land use, try to come to mutually agreeable solution." I think that's still pretty common, but we don't hear enough about it these days...
  2. Something called Sunn Hemp is supposed to be good for deer and kids fairly tall. I don't know anything about it, but your neighbor might...
  3. What if you planted a mixture of tall beans and some type of brassica? Not all mixed together, but laid out so both will grow and the deer will feel covered and have food after a good frost...
  4. Receiver-mounted optic and detachable barrel can be problematic. That's why a lot of folks have gone to barrel-mounted optic (both on 10/22 and PC9 takedowns) as on the rifle in the tactical mandolin case.
  5. If you're open to suggestion, is be curious to hear his thoughts on prepping. Specifically, how much TP is enough TP?
  6. Ah, right. Thanks. "Handgun", "long gun", or "other (frame, receiver, etc.)".
  7. And, as I've said more than once before, it's the FFL's license that's on the line. As long as they're not hosing you, meet them half way.
  8. For those that don't have a copy of the instructions on hand, Google "4473 instructions" and read the instructions for Question 27. They're on Page 6, they paragraph starts "Types of firearm include, but are not limited to:..." Receiver is one of the types listed there.
  9. Unless there's something wonky about TN State law, the FFL should be transferring it as a receiver. (Assuming they aren't aware that it had previously been something else.) They often get logged as a rifle by FFLs who don't simply get it right. (Similar thing in MN: There's a requirement to have a permit to purchase a handgun, same permit for "scary" guns. FFLs will frequently require that to transfer an AR pattern receiver, even though it's not required by law. Also people 18 > 21 are frequently told they aren't old enough to get this permit, also wrong.) Yes, have it transferred as a pistol, build it first as a pistol, then switch it up to your heart's content. JETA: Justkeep your order of operations such that you don't ever have an SBR or have "constructive intent" for an SBR.
  10. It's okay, give it some time to grow up and get a bit more comfortable in its own skin. That's what worked for me. Well... maybe not so much...
  11. If it's for sure going to be thrown away, might be easier to hold the can and rotate the upper assembly.
  12. For us, it's less a safety and security thing and more just having the additional living space available/ comfortable.
  13. Do them with the picture down. Or mix them together. Or both...
  14. Are we going to start needing TGO Operator licenses? Will there be a test?!
  15. Would you guys be willing to write a bit about HAM radio operation? History, current state, what you actually do, why, etc? I'm aware of HAM radio operation, but know essentially nothing about it.
  16. Reading the title, I thought the victim flew planes and was killed by three women.
  17. Apologies in advance for the thread drift. I've long been if the opinion that both the vocal left and the vocal right want lots of government control over my life, they just disagree about which aspects of my life that should be.
  18. How long before we start seeing hipster ARs with quad rails?
  19. But isn't 3M selling to those that make the most persuasive offer the essence of capitalism? We shouldn't be telling them who they can or can't see their products to, should we?
  20. Looks like they also make them for Gen4&5 Glocks. Could a 35 be converted to 357sig? (Or is there already a 357sig equivalent to the 35?) ETA: I suppose Lone Wolf or someone makes a barrel...
  21. You know, it could just be a funny angle, and he's really following through after knocking a bad guy right on his keister...
  22. I think, shortly before that image was created someone somewhere in a meeting stood up, raised a single finger high in the air and proclaimed, "THIS LOOKS LIKE A JOB FOR MARKETING!!" And this is what they came up with.
  23. @Dirtshooter, would you tell us how you rig a turkey quill? You've got me curious...
