  1. Same here JAB. I have the receipt in my wallet. They've historically been pretty fast on getting the permits out, at least from my experience.
  2. Welcome to out little corner of the interwebs Ms. Johnson! Great to have you here. We are in need of that evidence please. It looks like Tac Con had an outstanding group presenting this year. But that's no surprise. Again, welcome. Jamie
  3. Less than 10 minutes in & out...then a trip to the range for a few handgun drills. Great day so far!
  4. Funny as I read this I am sitting and waiting for the Driver's license center to open. I have to get an updated photo. At my age I'm just hoping to still be alive to renew 8 years from now!
  5. A huge congrats to you on teaching at the Tac Con! Awesome Sir. Perhaps an abbreviated version of your Point Blank Pistol Skills class if possible. Maybe?
  6. Congrats to both of you gentlemen! Teaching at the Conference is quite an honor and demonstrates the respect and confidence you've earned among your peers. And That sounds just like something CHL would do Lee! We do need to see that photographic evidence at some point Sir... Congrats again gentlemen.
  7. Great post tacops! I too had a Jackass (Miami Classic) rig way back when, around 1990 and could comfortably carry a full sized Beretta 92...but had to dress around the horizontal aspect of the rig. Solid comfortable and well built rig inho. Ken Null still makes some excellent rigs similar to the 9r mentioned by tacops. I've tried a j-frame model Gomez used to own and it was nothing short of excellent. Very concealable and pretty darn quick. The link below should show several variations. http://www.klnullholsters.com/default.htm Have you considered a "bellyband" system? I've used one for many years worn slightly below belt level and even rigged one up with a Glock sport holster attached and could accommodate a G-26 or G19 securely. I too would shy away for universal fit conceptually designed holsters...except the bellyband with a few tweaks.
  8. I'm good for it my friend. I'm actually scheduled off that weekend! Either topic would be fine by me as well. I am in need of some keen eyed tutelage! Thank you for the offer GTG.
  9. Welcome to TGO and Tennessee. Glad to have you aboard.
  10. Just in case there's an interest. Bone Frog Gun Club has 45 acp Fed HST 230 gr for $22.50/50 rds. I've only ordered 9mm from them, but shipping for 4 boxes (200 rds) 147 gr 9mm HST was $11.24 and they ship fast. Good company and solid service imho. edited to add link: https://www.bonefroggunclub.com/collections/ammunition/products/45-acp-230gr-federal-premium-tactical-hst-jhp-50rds-p45hst2
  11. Great write-up Gordon. Thank you. I like the idea of the G17 size grip and 19 length slide. That alone should improve handling for most folks and make this gun a serious shooter. I'm a bit of a runt but frequently carry a G 17 and have no issues concealing it whatsoever. The 19 length slide shouldn't be a hindrance as it relates to accuracy and shootability. I've run a 19 for a few decades and it's more accurate than I am LOL.
  12. Welcome to TGO and the great state of Tennessee. Oak Ridge is a great area and we have several members from there. Several of us are members at ORSA as well. Glad to have you aboard.
  13. Welcome to Tennessee and the Knoxville area. I'm an ORSA member as well. It has a lot to offer. And we have have options around here as well...always a good thing. Welcome aboard.
  14. Dalton, Chuck Norris, and Dolomite all in one thread? Damn Straight!
  15. I appreciate you posting that portion of the blog post. I subscribe to Western Rifle and to Mountainguerrilla. Mosby's posts always make me think and I tend to agree more than I disagree with him. I didn't find this post, nor his previous work, particularly anti-LEO. His perspective, as all of ours, stem from life experiences. I too think courage is largely a matter of choice and hopefully we will temper ourselves toward that goal.
  16. Thanks for the review and the link @peejman. I've not heard of them before. They seem to be affordable and since they are local that's a win in my book.
  17. Thank you hipower! That'd be awesome. Working this weekend...didn't want @monkeylizard to think something was up!
  18. Miamigard? No Sir. I certainly wouldn't mind reading it.
  19. Awesome brother! Let me know and maybe we can work a swap.
  20. Darn interwebs...a search for "J.D.Moles" yielded "An Automated Assay for Glycogen Phosphorylase"! Thankfully Amazon helped me and these are now on my list. The Five Fingers is a pricey book. At least on Amazon. This one was written in '79, correct @martin5?
  21. LOL. I promise if I see anything unnerving come across from CDC and there's still net access, I'll share that info!
  22. Welcome aboard Aaron! Happy to have you Sir.
  23. @hipower I certainly have a compulsion to finish a series once I start one...it's always been that way for me LOL. "Any interest in the sword/sorcery/fantasy?" I certainly went through the phase, but in the 70's & 80's primarily.... Tolkein, Stephen R. Donaldson, Ann Mccaffrey, and such. Then I discovered Jerry Ahern and that changed everything! I'm pretty much firearms and PAW related in my tastes these days.
  24. LOL. After having had a pet rabbit for several years they are now safe from being a protein source according to the missus! The pile of rocks in the top right hand corner of the picture is Bunnyhenge where our once pet rabbit now rests. So if I choose to stay married, and I do, the rabbits are allowed to roam free and I just work around them.
  25. These are good points chances R. I'm reminded of a book I read a long time ago, around '71-'2 iirc by Alvin Toffler called "Future Shock". He postulated that people were having psychological adaptation breakdown because of the rapidity of the change societies were undergoing..and this was way the heck before the rise of computers, social media and the internet. As much as we as human beings like to think we are more than we are, we can only process, internalize, and incorporate only so much change before reaching our limits. Toffler popularized the term "information overload". If only he knew what was coming. Big Pharma and The Health Care conglomerates capitalize on this. There's no money in the "cure".
