  1. I had no idea it was illegal to carry a long gun. Where would one find the exception in the law for hunting?
  2. I hope they are just waiting until the last minute to order. That just sucks if not. Heck, I just had to put a $1500 set of heads on my truck, but I said I'd buy one, and doggone it, I'm buying one!
  3. I-65 south of Nashville is literally paved with them.
  4. Fill it with ice and beer and have the greatest block party in the history of the world!
  5.                                     http://www.diamonddcustomleather.com/Chest_Holsters.php   Something like this?   An Anaconda isn't a rare firearm, so a lot of custom holster makers will still make holsters for them. You probably aren't going to find one at your local sporting goods store, however. You could try one made for a 6" Smith and Wesson N frame. I expect they are very close in size.   A quality custom made leather holster will cost you, but if you carry it much, it'll be worth every penny.
  6. I subscribe to this theory as well. If the seller is happy with the price, then congratulations. Those are definitely four classic, high quality, tack driving rimfires.
  7. Somebody got hosed big time. There's close to $400 worth of sights on those rifles. :stunned:   Very nice collection.
  8. Do you reload?   My boys started shooting 38 special and even 44 Magnum target loads at about age 5. They love it. My little one is 10, and two years ago he was cutting bullet holes at 10 yards with a model 52 Smith and Wesson.   Still, you could always use him as an excuse to buy a quality 22 target revolver like a model 17 Smith and Wesson,  or semi such as a Browning Challenger or a Colt Woodsman.
  9. That's what mine does.
  10. A different magazine would be a good place to start. If that isn't it, the S&W semis will chip a piece off the extractor every now and again.
  11. If it has affected me, I didn't know it.
  12. I have never personally killed a deer personally with one, but I would have no fear at all in taking a Tennessee whitetail with any of the calibers you've mentioned.   A center chest shot with a properly constructed bullet in a 223/556 would most assuredly take any whitetail Tennessee has to offer with boring regularity. Deer just aren't that tough, and 200 yards isn't an outrageous distance with a good rest, an accurate rifle, and a competent shooter.   This does require a bit of patience and restraint. It is the iffy shots that sometimes require a larger, tougher bullet.   Now that you mention it, I may have to prove my theory afield before too long.
  13. Good question. Mine is headed to D&T arms. I assumed they'd know what to do, but your question makes me wonder as well. Maybe they'll pick up on this thread and let us know how they'd prefer to handle it.
  14. That's about what I've seen lately as well. Diamond magnas are quite a bit more expensive, and the old coke bottle profile grips bring $500 and up.
  15. I've been piling up ammo for 10 years or more. My wife thought I was nuts, but we had th extra cash, and I didn't see ammo getting any cheaper. For once, I was right! Wal Mart was selling 550 Federal boxes of 22lr for $7.97 when I started. We quit buying them when they passed $9.97.   I'm no smarter than anyone else, but did benefit from good timing.   I will tell you that I still don't see ammo getting any cheaper long term. Same goes for food and other staples.   The strength of the American dollar is far behind us I'm sad to say.
  16. I believe I would like to build mine with an A2 stock, triangle fore end, 20"barrel, and removable carry handle. Any leads on a good deal on these parts or other suggestions would be appreciated.
  17. You're right. I enjoyed seeing it. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Mine too. Less than 2 bills, good quality, and made in the USA!
  19. I would look for good condition, used Interarms Mark x. You can spend several times as much money and not have the same quality rifle.
  20. I'm quite pleased with my Bushmaster. My father has a Colt, and is pleased with it. Were it available at the time I bought mine, I would have preferred a Smith and Wesson M&P Sport. For the money, I think they are hard to beat.
  21. Sorry to hear about your loss. We buried my cousin when she was still in her teens. She hung herself. You are correct. The gun was only a tool. Had it not been available, he most likely would have found another way. Suicide is such a sad way to go.
  22. I have not tried it myself, but I have been told that a tree killed by lightening just will not burn. I have no explanation for that if it is true.
  23. I assure you something like this will be well worth the extra few bucks over a cheap one.                            http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/70900-beretta-686-silver-pigeon-sporting-1995-mfg/
  24. I'm not a flashy sort of guy, but those do look pretty nice.
  25. I used to ride bikes a lot, and have the utmost respect for other bikers. That being said, had I been the guy in the SUV, I wouldn't have left the scene of the accident, because the accident would have been scattered all over the freeway until I saw no more motorcycles.   Once when I was a kid, my buddy, myself, and our girlfriends were going to a motocross race in his mother's Cadillac. We made a wrong turn and found a string of black guys shoulder to shoulder blocking the road. Stopping and looking back, there was the same thing behind us. My buddy turned white as a sheet and asked me what he should do. I told him if he wanted to go back home tonight, his only option was to stand on the throttle. There just isn't anything else to do.
