  1. Any coming to your place? Hmmm?
  2. As far as CM vs WC, I have no solid preference. I use both. I got started on WC when I had a Kimber Pro Carry back about 2008. It was prone to fte issues, so I took it to the man/shop I bought it from to ask about it. Rabbi looked it over and told me to try some different mags, as Kimber mags were sort of a hit or miss type and problematic. He handed me a couple of used Wilson Combat mags and told me to try them out. I did. Problem solved. I've been buying Wilson mags ever since. I also have some Chip McCormick and his other product, Shooting Star mags. All have been completely reliable.
  3. I didn't like the book. It's just too depressingly accurate. I haven't read the last installment either. I've been depressed enough lately. I don't need any further help in that department. But the book(s) are a great wakeup call for anyone concerned about life and living during and after an emergency or disaster event. Jamie...thanks for the info on the lanterns. I just ordered one to check it out.
  4. Yes, the trailers got my attention as well. Local commentary is quite positive. Wife's co-workers have seen it and are raving over it. I/we just might actually go to a theater for this. We never do that anymore. Just hate the whole theater experience these days. But this movie just calls out to us.
  5. "...Cheap guns are so much fun!" I have to agree with you. All of my ARs are pretty much "parts guns." I only have one that was relatively expensive, and that was for the time. A Colt 6920 bought years ago at retail. The others pieced from many different sources. But sounds like you are far more experienced than me. I will say that your comment is especially true for me on the pistol level. I have spent from 250 to 1500(once, and it ate at me so much I sold it. lol) Anyway, I seem to get just as much enjoyment from my cheap Rock Island 1911 as my Sig. Both shoot far better than I'm capable of, so I just keep at it until I find I'm just as bad with either one.
  6. Optical illusion, I'm sure...but that barrel sure looks like it's taking a southbound slight bend. lol
  7. I like the idea, but I see slim chance of it happening. Some lib will say it's too time consuming and not cost effective.
  8. Answer. Not. And after hearing WTN this morning, it may have a lot more negative reaction. Seems That Princess Megan and some of her cronies were holding clandestine meetings to get it started before the Council, and the public knew about it. Not unusual, but those involved and pushing for the public money to pay, and those controlling the fairground finances may have overstepped their limits.
  9. Yes, you are right. But...I like it. I'm a sucker for wagons and powder blue creampuffs like this!
  10. Just saw this. And of course I ordered one. Thanks for the opportunity.
  11. Saw Meat at the Ryman several years ago. One of the best concerts experiences I've ever had. Sadly, my wife did not appreciate the show. lol
  12. OK...I'll play. Some of my favs and ones I got to see and hear way back then... Chicago Blood. Sweat and Tears Three Dog Night John Kay and Steppenwolf The Ides of March (Saw these guys 2 times at TTU. Great musicians and performers.
  13. This thread is making me feel old!
  14. Although I don't know the first three references, I am completely envious of the other groups you have seen. A great litany of music there! I did get to see Ray and Dennis from Dr. Hook once at a small club we attended at times. They were recognized in the audience and played with the house band for a bit. I was mezmerized. They were perhaps a bit under the influence of a plant substance at the time. lol
  15. "but I won't do that"
  16. Sadly, been there, done that. I saw/heard The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in a concert at TTU in the early 70's
  17. Amen brother. It takes more steady nerve, fast thinking, and strong will than I have. Need steady temperament as well. I don't have that either. I go from easy going to full-blown, red hot nuts in a split second. I've worked hard over the years to learn control of it, but still don't have it to the degree necessary for this calling.
  18. PM coming.
  19. Life Member here, and have been for quite a long while. I considered the Endowment Level, but decided to send a little money to NAGR and GOA with that and sort of spread it around.
  20. You most certainly are a man of infinite good judgment and with a discerning ear for great music. Just when I think I've picked a favorite...usually Up on Cripple Creek. I'll go back to The Last Waltz and pull the best from it up... The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down/Ophelia/The Shape I'm in/Life is a Carnival/...and of course...The Weight. Yes, probably the best know from The LGD Band, but arguably some of their absolute best.
  21. Flattery won't get you anything...I'm broke.
  22. I could begin to dislike you very, very much. I remember that from our trip trip into Arizona some years back. I liked it.
  23. I like your comments. I had to find that particular version and listen again. I'm sure I've heard it before, but didn't place it immediately. But I'm a diehard fan of The Band in all their many incarnations. lol The Weight is just, for me, "Owned" by The Band. JMO For me, it just doesn't get any better than Robbie Robertson and Levon Helm. Truthfully, I probably like Levon more than any other band members. I was torn up seeing how he looked in Shooter, and teared up badly on the news of his passing. Not dissing Aretha Franklin at all. She was a lady of huge talent. No question of that at all. But I really think of her in The Blues Brothers with Think. That just is classic Aretha.
  24. hipower

    I feel dirty.

Over the last 5/6 years, I have bought 3 tool carts from HF. My wife keeps grabbing them for her crafts supplies and as a rolling work table. They've held up very well, and the price was great. Always got them at sale times. Usually around 130 otd. I have bought one of the US General boxes for my assorted tools in the shed and her workshop. Both good enough for my use. But my real storage for bigger tools is a 5 drawer file cabinet. It works great. Paid 60 for it at a salvage store. Wish there had been a few more at that price, I'd line the attached garage wall with them.
  25. GTG, you are beginning to make me feel stupid for selling it. lol But I am exceedingly glad this is working for you! Very much so.
