  1. You know, that's something many of us probably hadn't thought about. Maps, especially laminated forms. That's a great idea to add some to the bug. But for old folks like us, even in the suburban area, unless it's a desperate situation, we will probably stick it out here if at all possible.

    Wheel gun itch

    I understand. lol I crave a Wiley Clapp Gp100.
  3. I'm in that process as well. We(mostly me) cleaned out a lot of clothes for the flooding victims this year. And I thought I did well emptying my closet. But upon a second look, I think we will have more as well. Which will be good for some of the local church clothing drives. Although we will have to pick a new reciepiant, as the Eastminster Church burned a week or so ago.
  4. Ah...I see now...says the blind man. Makes much more sense now. Just slow on the uptake.
  5. We do donate to Vandy. My wife works indirectly for them. Many of her friends are there, and we have a close friend who recently retired from the children's wing. And we do agree with you. It always seems that donations can go astray. Also, thanks for the lead on your buying source. Next time I'm headed your way, I'll stop and check them out. Can't have enough sources.
  6. My best gift giving was a couple years back. Wife and I went out to pick up some toys at K-Mart as fillers for some family stockings. As we pulled in, I noticed a Fire/Rescue crew there collecting toys. We went inside and started picking things to take back out to them. As we strolled around, I kept seeing more and more ideas, and some really good low prices. Before we really knew it, we had filled 2 carts with balls, bats, dolls, games, cars and trucks, as well as a few other items. I paid and we went out to hand them over. One of the guys came up and asked which one was for them. We stopped both carts and told him all. The look on his face was priceless. We got thanked and hands shook by all of them and walked away quickly. One of them called for us to stop and take a picture. We declined. Told him we did it for personal reasons, and for the kids. We wanted no praise for something we felt we should do. I regret that we haven't done it to that extent since. Best feeling I've had in a long time.

    Mauve

Looks much, much better than in pink!
  8. Pretty cool!
  9. I agree about the mag capacity. It's a real pain. Now for the buzzkill...I'm finding that my full size and compact M&P 9s don't get shot much anymore.
  10. The use of a light rail might just sneak up on you. I didn't think I would like them, but I got a couple of Glock lights from Steelharp some time ago. I put one on myG19 and found that I like it for use as house gun. So, if you haven't had a bad experience with one, or just hate railed frames; don't rule it out immediately.
  11. CZ75. For range use, large, steel frame for recoil mitigation. Good grips for easy and comfortable hold. Both combine to make a long shooting session much more comfortable. I own both Glocks and CZs. I find my Glocks sitting home more and more these days. Too many other pistols that are more fun to shoot and look better. Not dissing the Glocks. I still have one for carry and one for home hideyout gun. But in the interests of total truth, my carry Glock has taken a back seat to a Shield.
  12. Thank you! I actually hadn't heard it this year. Love it!
  13. Its' getting so we can't even enjoy music any more without the thought police ruining it.
  14. LOL!! That's great. I however, am listening to Brian Setzer's Rockin' Christmas this morning. Need a little more upbeat sounds to liven the day.
  15. I wish everyone her the happiest of Christmas Seasons! I hope you all are surrounded by family and friends this year. May it be the merriest and best for all. But please take the time to say a prayer for those less fortunate than we are; those serving this nation and it's people I all the areas around the world. My God Bless and keep safe all our service men and women everywhere. Also remember those serving here at home. The police, fire, EMTs, all emergency responders, and all our medical persons. Each and every one deserves a prayer from us for their dedication to helping others. Please remember those who have lost someone recently. The brightness of this family season is dimmed by their absence. Please remember the homeless and the poor. The shelters for our people need love and donations. I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't supported as fully this year as in the past, but has been a financial struggle for us this year, as I'm sure may can attest to for themselves as well. Pray for those with family in hospitals and care facilities, sadly my family falls into that category this year. And lastly, for 2 groups close to my heart. All the veterans of the wars in this nation. Thank and pray for them daily. We need more support for them. The second group is for our family friends, companions, protectors, and just plain pets. Thank God for them all. They provide unconditional love and friendship. More than many get from family and friends at times. Please donate to care facilities for our animal friends. Rescue when you can. Give homes to strays. Do what you can. Hopefully, I have covered all I intended here this morning . Getting a little misty eyed. Must be the dusty little room I'm in. Finally...Merry Christmas to all.
  16. I must thank you again, this is just the type of information I was looking for. Perhaps waiting for a second generation of this might be better. My shooting, the bulk of it anyway, is usually indoors. So that sort of takes the Mepro FT unit off the table for me now.
  17. Ah...brings back terrible memories of the 22 shortage when you mention taking along a full brick just in case you get the opportunity to shoot. Isn't life grand?
  18. Thank you. I'll have to research this fully, and try to find some of them before buying.
  19. That looks great. But you indicated some reluctance about it for indoor use. May I ask why you said this?
  20. Looks interesting. I'll be doing some research on this one.
  21. But it's still good!
  22. Very nice 870!
  23. I have no sensible reaction to this type of evil. It just defies understanding. I do hope the bad guys are found...by the local people first.
  24. I agree with Kharman, my Magic takes a firm, deliberate push to open. Almost difficult for smaller hands with a touch of the old man's disease setting in. Arthritis for you younger guys without it.
  25. Don't give up yet. The old gal has some years on her, and needs a bit more tlc before settling in to be your new honey. Heck, at 48, she's younger than me. And I ain't been parked permanently yet.
