  1. With all the recent comments on Whittakers, I may have to schedule a road trip and check them out.   Whittakers Gun Shop? Guess I'll google them and find the location.

    Hunger Games

Oh...well, yes I do kinda have a little drooling crush on Jennifer as well. That might account for liking the movie. And she was so hot in the body makeup in X-Men: First Class. :yum:
  3. Thanks for the headsup. I didn't realize that another was coming up so soon.   Might actually come out to see the zoo this time.

Read the books. Thought they were decent to fair, especially since they are really directed at the teen plus readers. But enjoyable reads nontheless. The first movie I thought was just so-so. It's hard to convey all the backstory details in a short time frame. I'll probably watch the rest as well.    Now for some serious SF reading and moviemaking, RW is right on track. John Ringo is topnotch guy. Writes very well, though he tends sometimes to be a little longwinded in spots. Sorta like me.   To my knowledge, I have, and have read all his books and found them thoroughly great, with above exception. The Aldenta/Polseen series is truely amazing in the depth of the characters and story.   Ghost was fantastic. The Kildar Series as a whole is worth reading.   As a movie...Yes!
  5.   Good thinking there.   I'd say Ol' George would appreciate the irony.   Grew up with country music with all the oldsters in my family. And like most of us young upstarts, rebelled against it and went to pop and R&R. But came back home to country in the late  80's.   My Dad always hated the "noise" I listened to. Said the only stuff he could stand was some of the very early rock from the 50's. If it wasn't country, it just wasn't cool.   One of my memories of dad's last years was of us riding in my car and he told me I didn't have to have the country radio playing just for him. He couldn't believe when I told him that's where it usually stayed. Seemed to meet his approval, he didn't say much about it. Just grinned a little.   And yes, he was a big fan of Ole' George. He and Mom actually got to meet and talk with the Possum one night backstage at the Old Ryman. They used to go pretty often with a friend of his who played almost every weekend show with the stage band. But of course I was too young and too cool to go to the Grand Ole Opry. What a dumbass I was then.   Anyway, we will all miss one of the greatest of the last 50+ years in music.
  6. . Amen, brother.
  7. Yeah. You got it. Just sweat it out and you'll be ok.
  8.     Agreed. I really made a mistake letting the Phantom go. But I got a beautiful CZ75 and a bunch of 18 round mags for it. So about even, I'd say.
  9. Wow. Just Wow.   Places I wish to visit. The Arizona Memorial. The Vietnam Memorial. I don't stand a chance of remaining dry eyed at either one.
  10. Just be sure to get the black patent leather badge case to go with it. That'll complete the look for you. Hange it off the breast pocket of your suit jacket and you'll be prepared for anything that happens.
  11. 8:38 and sold out. Not surprising. Still a lot of people who want P-mags, some extra mags, or just want more and more mags.   I actually have all that I'll ever reasonably need, but just wanted to see how long the inventory would last.
  12. Seriously, wonder what the police reaction would be to someone offering to buy from people bringing something in to dispose of. Don't think there's anything of questionable legality about doing it, but I have to wonder about what might or might not happen.
  13.   Ditto. I said I wasn't buying anything else til I sold all the guns I didn't shoot. Well..that certainly didn't last long.   I've picked up a couple of nice to very nice handguns I've always wanted to try recently.   And yes, ammo is a consideration, but I have a fair supply. Nothing like our Shelbyville friend, though I wish I had something even close to that.   Shooting the way I do, that is, infrequently: I have enough for my purposes for a while. But I'd love some more 9 and 22.    But if I stay within the standard calibers I normally shoot; I'll pick up a good buy when available. And trade where possible.
  14. Tried and can't get thru. Get error message from your link and trying to go to their site directly.   Will keep trying.
  15. So now we ban fireworks? Again?
  16.   Well said, sir. I've never thought of it quite like that, but it fits.
  17. I've said this before and still believe it.   The love of a dog is the closest thing on this earth to the love that God has for us.
  18. That's a great pic!   Yep, our little buddies can be just a wee bit jealous of new arrivals to their home, but it will all work out.
  19.   You and me both! I'd like to have a little more in stock for me. I let several friends have some of mine and I'd like to replace it.
  20.   Buddy, you shoulda' know better'n that.
  21. Revisionist history will be(is) the death of the school system.
  22. Man, that's quite a coup! A far cry from what my grandparents had when I was fetchin' the eggs.
