After the time I've spent here, and that's a few years...I don't think I can believe that of either of you. But then again...I've never worked for either of you.

Good plan. Tell your boss to "stick it" and go!

Yes, movement asap. When my left knee was replaced in 2018, I was really, really scared of the coming pains. Surgery done at 7AM, recovery room and talking(not coherently though) by noon. Painkillers the rest of the day. I woke and needed to pee badly about 2AM. Two nurses came in and got me up, wanting me to use a urinal. Being cocky and drugged up, I said I could make it on my own. Before I did a faceplant, they helped me into the bathroom and held me up while I did my thing. lol At this point in my life, I've been seen by more nurses than I can count, so embarrasment wasn't an issue. lol Anyway, I convinced them I was going to just sit in the chair and not get back into bed. The chair was more comfortable anyway. By 7 when the doc came in, I'd stood and taken a few steps. Yes...I did feel a bit of pain. But doing it while under the pain meds was better than waiting and doing it the harder way. Short version is that TKR went pretty well. PT was hard for a few sessions, but using a recumbent bike to get flexibility back helped a lot. Now my second one in 2019 was a bit rougher. I guess more arthritic bone removed didn't make it as easy. The point is that movement and repeated movement is key to recovery. Don't stop exercising. Don't ask me how I know. Jamie, as with Steel, a lot of sinner's prayers for you both. BTW, I did learn that any surgery like this is really on both partners. Not just one.

You made me chuckle with that comment. It's very true. I have seen it in myself and in others. Sometimes a good kick in the butt works well too.

It's a topic I've thought much on. I don't have any answers, but I do have the thought that I don't want to be as you've described. I fear being bedridden and immobile...greatly. Ok, I've typed this before reading all the thread posts. Let's see how it's going.

I think I understand that...maybe. But if that's the drill...do it! Will to do this is key. Never give up. You are a strong man. Don't forget that. You have to be strong for Lisa as well. Temporary disorientation. It has to be. We won't think it anything else. My poor sinner's prayers continue for you both.

Many offers of help already. Add me to that list. Still praying for you both.
-
Added to my already long list. Prayers for a good man and his wife.
-
That's good. Your comment did leave me with room for widespread thought though.

Covid? At any rate my prayers will now include the two of you.

Wonderful news, at least that you are improving. Thankful Lisa is a well as this sounds. For you...fight and believe! That is some strong medicine in itself. I never let myself believe I was not surviving the cancer. I tried being upbeat and cheerful as much as I possibly could. It is important. On the pneumonia front. I've had 2 bouts of it, and you're right; it is no fun. I assume that you've been given those breathing exercises. Do Them! It is key to recovery and strengthen your lungs. Continuing prayers for you, my friend. I need you around to harass over our CZ episodes.

I agree with you. My plan was to return to the Grand Canyon and do some of the hiking tours. Time and life got involved in my plans, then several surgeries added to the delays. Now, I just want to be able to walk for a distance with out problems. Not giving up on that goal for the Canyon; just re-evaluating my own capabilities within the finite time I have left here.

Heck I can't do that either!

Guys, some of you know I'm a hoarder of things. And the time has come(Says the Wife!) to move a few things out. Lots of books. Mostly hard SYFY, some Fantasy, War, Westerns, and Mystery/Thriller genres. A mix of movies, also with Dvds. Tomorrow, Saturday 11/21 in Inglewood, Tn. If you might have any interest, please PM me for the complete address. I think you all will understand my not putting it out. Thanks for reading. Have a great weekend!

No! You can't! Now I have to say I do know someone with this damnable disease. Michael, my friend, I am and will continue to pray for you and your family. I pray that our Lord lays his healing hands upon you. Amen. If you feel like it, please keep in touch.

Would love to have that Ford Country Squire wagon. Those were great. Good ride, big 390ci, and roomy! You can have the beer.

Have had a few around here over the years, and I agree. It definitely looks like an adult fox.

After the last week...I believe you are very, very right.

Walmart Pulls Guns, Ammo Displays in U.S. Stores, Citing Civil Unrest

First time I said "light pole" in a conversation with my inlaws they swore I was a redneck country bumpkin! 40 years later...I think that opinion still stands. -
I'd say we're about even. You just spend more time here that I do!
