  1. Dang that make a pretty flamethrower!!!
  2. I know I watched him almost every Saturday morning, but I really don't remember much about the show except the plane.
  3. Feel like gettin' up and dancin'...but I'm as bad as Elaine from Seinfeild. lol I loved the ventures. Now I'll be searching for some to listen to while cleaning the garage. It'll be change for my wife. I've been running Webb Wilder and Ace of Bass today in rotation. She's not too happy with me.
  4. Yeah, I'm pretty sure we all have a few that came home under those circumstances. I can tell you I do for sure. Last time I uttered those words, I was saying I wasn't going to buy another Taurus until I sold a few more of my older finds. But I saw this pretty little 6" ported 38/357 revolver that just cried out to me. I'm a sucker for revolvers.
  5. If I didn't back then, I offer my heartfelt condolences for your loss.
  6. Well I have to say it certainly looks good. Now I hope you get to try it out this weekend. I'm still undecided on a railed 1911 though. lol I know it has greater function, but I guess in this I'm a hard core old school guy. I still lean towards tradition frame looks.
  7. Wow! Always wanted one, don't really know why. Seemed I just liked the look of it. But that's the way I feel about most firearms! lol Ok, who knows right off what 22,550 Francs were in US dollars then?
  8. I LIKE IT!!!!!
  9. Okay.
  10. I love it!
  11. Between the trackers we willingly install on our vehicles in the name of saving on insurance, the GPS trackers in our cell phones, the chip readers in our debit and credit cards(that can do a multitude of things besides allow you to purchase items), and the very real push for card only transactions these days; it's very hard not to be getting unsettled by the tracking of our daily lives. The removal of cash in purchases removes(in more known term to this community) "ghost" purchases. Not one thing you buy will be missed. Anything, anytime, anywhere can and will be seen. Don't believe in it? Look at England's CCTV system. Works pretty well it seems. Enough so that a network like it is being established here, linking all those security cameras on the streets from "private" business protection, the speeding ticket camera, even our own personal security camera systems that we willingly had over access to the security companies who "guard" our property. Privacy? If we ever truly had it, we seem to have gladly given it away. Fighting "Big Brother" and George Orwell's 1984? Heck we made it and we liked it coming! Back on the cashless society that my late father-in-law talked about 30 plus years ago. Frank said we'd never see it in his lifetime. Within a few years he had a debit and cred card in his wallet for everything. Cash is being shunned today in our lives. It's dirty. It has germs on it. Cash leads to spreading Corona. We've had everything from blood and human wastes, cocaine and heroin, and other chemical residues on our currency for decades. But now it's not safe? And while I'm on a roll here, what about the ads on FB and other social media sites? You've seen them I'm sure. Which ones? Those promoting giving children debit cards. What? Oh it's just to teach them how to manage money. Give me a break! Or a smack on the jaw if you think I'm a bit over the edge on paranoia today. Every move you make is being watched today. We are being led in a very specific direction. One that leads to total overwatch of our lives and actions. And we are happily and willingly embracing it. Ok. Done for now. Do you see what association with all you "right wing gun totin' terrorists" has done to me? I used to be a calm and quiet sort of guy. But I've embraced all the EOTWAWKI theories with wide eyes and open arms! LOL Now all this has been a bit tongue-in-cheek. Sort of. Well, Maybe.
  12. With the mindset that many of our teachers have today, being as brainwashed as many of our other young people by the NEA, the likelyhood of that happening is pretty low. So parents are still the protectors of the children.
  13. When I left high school, I felt the same way. Wasn't part of any popular group and really didn't fit in. My folks were just blue collar workers and I didn't make the cut. I started to do a public FO! to them all, but some semblance of sense came in and stopped me from doing it. Some 30 years later, I ran into a few of them and started a conversation. I won't say we became instant buds, but I have managed to get a few good people I can talk with from that group now. Even giving some thought to moving back to that little community. My remaining family is there, and my wife is the last of her family but for her step-mother. Might just happen. If we all survive this current mess. So sometimes things do change for the better.
  14. I just had a strong hunch this virtual school/video teaching was going to be a big mess. I was thinking along the same lines. Giving anyone a video access to me or my home is not going to happen! At least not voluntarily! I don't have a desktop or a laptop with a video camera and don't want one. I just don't care for the idea of my fat butt being exposed to all while I'm online. Heck I had a cow the other day when a link told me about the Covid Tracker that Microsoft and Android had cooked up. Doesn't sound too upsetting...right? Well how about the fact that it was automatically installed in my Samsung phone without my knowledge? Go to Settings, then Goole settings I believe it was, and check. It's there. Sure has an on/off slide on it. But do you really think anyone that would add this wouldn't be slick enough to make it appear you had turned it off?
  15. SPPLLAATTT!! Dang...wish it was the roadrunner! I never did like that scrawny Bleep-Bleepin'bird!
  16. I don't shoot a lot of rifles, but I do own a few. One of my favorites was a Rossi 357 that I got in a strange 3-way deal in Knoxville several years ago. It's a joy to shoot, even when I can't shoot well. lol Wish it were a 44. But I'll echo the thought of keeping both.
  17. You ain't even scratched the surface! Wait until you've been around long enough to see more of GT's work. But don't buy one...you won't buy just one!
  18. Well I started to ask what the second gun was. Then I paused the video several times and wondered if it was a G44. Yes! It was. Watched several of the other Autumn vids. Wow is this little gal sharp for 7 years old. Articulate, seems to know what she's saying and doing. Love the little gal!
  19. Wow! That sure brings back memories of fun times! lol Maybe we could get a thread for all the great issues that lead to banishment. That would make for some very entertaining reading during the long days and nights of the Covid era.
  20. Must be a Starbucks thing.
  21. East Nashville here and the same thing. Been talked about, meeting after meeting, and unless I'm way out of the loop...still nothing here either.
  22. Extras. Spares. Greedy. Selfish. Whatever. When I bought my first auto loader, way back in the dark ages; it had 2 mags with it. First range trip...I saw the light. More time loading than shooting. This was not going to work for me. I set a precedent then and there for myself. It wasn't going to be like that again. The number I decided on isn't important. The decision to always buy and have that number on hand was. Only in rare or circumstances where it just isn't cost effective for my thinking, I have always followed that decision. Some have laughed. But I got mags. Do you?
  23. Thanks, A.J. A question I had wondered about. Most of us I think have the mental picture/perception that all desperate occasions when we might actually draw and even fire, will take place in a wide open environment, or in a situation with lots of cover and few bystanders. Just like Hollywood movies. This brings much thought. I need more(actually about any professional) training. Seems as though something breaks down on me just about the time I start thinking of getting involved. Hopefully my current crop of liabilities will be corrected soon and I can get started. Thank you for posting this.
  24. Though 5 here in Nashville is polished, professional(most of the time) and really slick; they are in lock step with the lib media line. Getting called out on anything hurts their feelings.
  25. Agreed. Surely something more than the child just riding a bike in a neighbor's yard. I know there some evil and nasty people in this world, but that's almost too much to grasp.
